The extraordinary ups and downs of sport were highlighted once again today when Helen Langehanenberg (35) and Damsey sealed a superb victory at the seventh leg of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage 2017/2018 Western European League on home soil in Neumünster, Germany. At the previous round in Amsterdam (NED) three weeks ago, the 2013 FEI World Cup™ Dressage champion had to retire when her 16-year-old stallion got his tongue over the bit and their performance fell apart. Today however it was perfect harmony every step of the way as their strong score of 83.800 pinned compatriots Dorothee Schneider (49) and Sammy Davis Jr into runner-up spot while Denmark’s Daniel Bachmann-Andersen (27) and Blue Hors Zack slotted into third.
"This was maybe our best result ever - Damsy felt great, he had the perfect mixture of freshness and motivation and he just performed the way every rider wants, the communication between us was really easy!"

The atmosphere in the Neumünster arena is notoriously intense. As runner-up Schneider said, “everything about this show is brilliant, especially the crowd who are so close that it feels like they are also riding your horse!” That didn’t stop her from posting 81.565 for second place and moving even closer to Sweden’s Patrik Kittel at the top of the Western European leaderboard. With just two qualifiers left to go, in Gothenburg (SWE) next weekend and ’s-Hertogenbosch (NED) two weeks later, that’s a really good place to be, because only two German riders can join defending champion Isabell Werth at the Final in Paris (FRA) in April, and sealing one of those two spots is a battle in itself. A total of nine riders, and a maximum of three from any nation, can make the cut from the Western European series.
Spain’s Morgan Barbancon Mestre, fourth to go with Sir Donnerhall ll, caused a stir when stopped by the Ground Jury because her floorplan had been changed overnight. When this was resolved she was allowed to compete, but it was Marie Emilie Bretenoux and Quartz of Jazz from France who led the way at the halfway stage with a mark of 76.300. This however would be improved on again and again, Denmark’s Bachmann-Andersen presenting a lovely picture of relaxation and balance with his 14-year-old stallion that rocketed him into the lead on a big mark of 81.475 with six left to go.
Langehanenberg pushed him off his pedestal immediately however and Schneider then pinned him back to third, but the talented Dane has now moved into joint-fourth on the leaderboard and looks set to make a big impression at the Final. Today’s winner won’t make it to Paris. “I’m expecting a baby in June, so this was our last show before that and it’s the perfect result! I hope to be back in the saddle again in July though!”, Langehanenberg explained.

National Grand Prix win today in Neumünster for Faustus and Dorothee Schneider (video)
Faustus and Dorothee Schneider with clear distance (73,033%) to no 2 Fürstano with Juliane Brunkhorst (69,067%) and no 3 Fiero with Fabienne Lütkemeier (67.833%).
Dorothee showed a very smooth test with just an error by the one times and a few smaller issues, while Juliane Brunkhorst with Fürstano was struggling a bit with the flow and balance for the trot extensions, but showing nice expression for passage/piaffe and good series and pirouettes.

"He shows all 3 gaits very secure and supple, very nice in front of the riders aides and with a nice self carriage, mayby with a bit quicker hind legs for the trot extensions - 8,5 for the trot. For the canter he is always uphill with a lot of ground cover with a lovely self carriage - 8,7 for the canter. The walk with all positive creteria for a very good walk, active, supple and ground covering - 9,0 for the walk. Very obedient both for the test with own rider and for the test rider - 9,3 for ride ability. Over all impression 9,0 - total score 8,93."

Top score for Bonds at today´s final day at 2 days stallion performance test, but For Emotion was the winner
This morning the 2-days performance test for the stallions started at 8:00 with the 5 year old stallions. Test rider today was Phillip Hess.
The team about the test of the stallions with Oliver Oelrich in the lead wanted to catch up on yesterday´s issues when testing.
For Emotion in a league of his own
"That´s not the most difficult job to do comments about a horse like this, when we have a dynamic and talented mover like For Emotion", was the first words about For Emotion from the judging team after today´s test riding part.
"In trot always in a very clear beat, always uphill, very nice correspondance between front legs and hind legs, very active also from behind. In the front he is a Champion and brings this quality from behind too. Easy to make longer and shorter, short and exact a clear 10 for the trot. The canter is very nice uphill, seen from the side he could be a bit lower hind (bit crop high) for the canter, and here like for the trot he shows huge potential for collection - 9,0. The beginning of the walk was a bit tense, but became very good, bit higher in the front legs - 8,2. For the ride ability from the test rider and his qualities and obedience, how easy he was to change frame - 9,5 and a clear 9,5 for the potential" were some of the comments from the judges - total score of 9,24.
Bonds was for a couple of moments showing a bit tension today, and from H2R point of view not quite the comments for the trot as seen from the side line, as you could still wish for a bit more clear push under the body with the hind legs. But no doubt this is a super quality stallion.
2 days stallion performance test - worth a view for all breeders
Only the best is good enough
A lot of breeders are active following the stallions from pre-selection, licensing and stallion shows, but the very best impression and clear picture of the stallions is either from daily training, or as you now have the possibility to follow them at the 2 days performance test.
The lists are long and there are more wellknown young stallions, but far from all of them brings the top qualities under the rider.
4 year old stallions with clear winner
Dante Quando by Dante Weltino / Fidertanz / De Niro shown by Eva Möller with a lovely easy well balanced test and also with lot of praise from the judging team.
De Beau by De Niro / Sandro Hit / Don Schufro was lacking some more clear push and strength for the trot work from H2R point of view.

Highlights today:
For Emotion by Foundation / Sandro Hit / Rockwell with Helgstrand Dressage rider Simone Pearce in the saddle ones again impressed with his powerful and top balanced movements - in all 3 gaits. Today the contact / accept of the bridle was just lacking for a few moments, but his abilities for the future are just obvious.
Dimitroff MT by Dimaggio / Brentano II / Weltmeyer shown by Laura Strobel. Nice supple modern type, good contact and obedient all the way. Superb walk.
Bonds by Calleho´s Benicio / Sir Donnerhall I shown by Beatrice Buchwald. Superb presentation in lovely balance all the way. From H2R point of view he could push more clear under his body especially for the trot.
Marc Cain by Millenium / Don Primero / Leibniz shown by Kristina Bröring-Sprehe. Good balance and activity for the trot, still lacking a bit more shoulder freedom, superb well balanced quality canter, good active walk. Nice frame and good harmony.
Tomorrow morning at 8:00 is the part with test rider and subsequent marks.

Anne Louise Tranæs Didriksen fra TV2 Østjylland har været på besøg hos Lone Bang, og taget et stort skridt fra hendes daglige islænderridning til et kig ind i dressurens verden.
Vild med Hest - Store heste og høj dressur
Lone Bang Larsen fra Ebeltoft har opnået at blive både Danmarksmester og Nordisk mester i dressur på sin hest Fitou. Hun har generøst stillet tre af sine fine heste til rådighed, da Anna skal forsøge sig med dressurridningen. Hestene er en hel del større en de små islandske, så det skal vise sig om Anna tør vove sig op, og måske får smag for den højere dressurskole.

69,085% victory today for the Danish combination Lotte Skjærbæk with 14 year old Skovens Rafael by Romanov / Schufro in Sopot, Polen.
The live streaming from the event is just a steady camera at the end by A, so unfortunately it needed a bit more than a sharp eye to follow the entire test.
H2R caught Lotte and her husband Per on their way the to airport, where Lotte told that she had very nice and smooth trot / passage tours in nice balance, good half passes, superb extended walk where one of the judges gave a 9,0. Nice piaffe tours with good transitions, small tensions for two times, and unfortunately the start of the 15 one times were missing today. The 9 one times were nice but unfortunately Lotte loose a bit of impulsion for the final pirouette. Nice final centerline with the best piaffe today. Overall Lotte was of course please with her victory but is also annoyed about her missing 15 one times.
It was the first time Lotte was in Sopot. The polish rider Przemyslaw Kozanowski made sure that the stay for the entire team around Rafael was top quality.
Germany´s Johnny Hilberath is trainer for Przemyslaw Kozanowski and he does also coach Lotte and Rafael ocationally, so the event at Sopot was a nice possibility for Hilberath to follow the Danish combination during an event.
In yesterday´s Grand Prix Lotte and Rafael came 5th with error by one times and one of the pirouettes.
Now Skovens Rafael and two grooms are on their way back to Denmark, while Lotte and her husband will meet their two sons in Munich for a well deserved holiday on ski.

Helgstrand once again secured himself the top stallions from KWPN
2018 champion stallion by Governor / Rousseau, part owner of reserve champion by Franklin / Jazz and also the purchase of 5th ranked at Premium ring by Expression / Ferro (co-owned by Søren Grønborg), and through to 2nd round stallion by El Capone / Ferro.
Helgstrand is of course very excited about the new stallions, and will for sure show the champion, reserve champion and 5th placed at the premium ring for Danish Warmblood licensing in Herning (7-11 March).

En af unghestene som er ved at være klar til Herning er DV sølvmedaljehoppen Delizia e. Fürstenball / De Noir, avlet af Lotte Kulle og ejet af Lotte Kulle og rytter Anne Troensegaard.
Flere gange er ekvipagen dukket på med enten imponerede videoklip eller flotte fotos på Facebook, og det har selvfølgelig vakt nysgerrighed for at høre lidt mere fra "teamet" omkring Delizia´s på vej frem mod Unghestechampionatet i Herning.

Ejer og avler Lotte Kulle fortæller:
"Hesteinteressen har været der altid, og jeg har redet hele mit liv. Løbende har jeg købt forskellige heste på auktion i Tyskland og solgt dem igen. Jeg købte Duchesse Petit e. De Noir / Schwadroneur (med henblik på ridning) af avler i 2011 og i folede hende i 2012. Efter 6 forgæves forsøg med fersk sæd fra Fürstenball tog han til UVM. Heldigvis tilbød Lone Bøegh at vi kunne bruge frost sæd til hende, hvilket vi selvfølgelig var Lone meget taknemmelige for, da det først lykkedes på det tidspunkt at få Duchesse Petit drægtig - derfor er Delizia også først fra august."
Ikke nogen stor avlerkarriere
"Jeg har ikke nogen stor avlerkarriere bag mig, og jeg har kun Duchesse som jeg avler på. Siden jeg fik Delizia har jeg haft Duchesse stående hos Brouwer i Holland, da jeg har haft et samarbejde med dem. Her har Duchesse fået 2 føl yderligere, en som bliver 3 år nu som er efter Desperado og en som bliver 1 år og som er efter Five Star - begge ser super lovende ud. Duchesse er nu kommet retur til DK og sættes i fol til sommer, og her er valget lige nu Quaterhit, men jeg glæder mig til bl.a. at følge de andre hingste fra Helgtrand Dressage i Herning også."
Anne Troensegaard var et oplagt valg
"Jeg har kendt Anne Troensegaard længe bl.a. fra Vallensbæk, og synes hun rider super godt og er en sympatisk rytter, så det var et naturligt valg da Delizia havde været i tilridning at sætte hende til Anne. Heldigvis blev Anne begejstret Delizia og vi har lavet en aftale omkring Delizia med henblik på at få hende i sporten. Anne ser meget frem til de næste par år og mener det er en hest til fremtiden.
Delizia skal gå championatet i Herning og sommerens championater, og så må vi se hvad tiden bringer."
Ny titel som springpony mor
"Privat bor jeg med min mand og datter Amanda på 12 år. Amanda har lige fået en læremester pony til springning, da hun nu har valgt springvejen, hvilket jeg glæder mig til da det jo er helt nyt for mig," slutter Lotte.
På vej mod Unghestechampionatet
Rytter og medejer Anne Troensegaard fortæller:
"Sidste gang jeg red unghestechampionat var i 2013 på Quite Nice. Vi fik tre 10 taller, et i trav og to i ridelighed, og blev placeret som nr. 2 efter Helgstrand og Hvalsø der var ligeplaceret på 1. pladsen."

Lille unghest med skønt temperament som har fået tid til at vokse under vejs
"Delizia var kun lige 161 cm og meget klein da jeg fik hende i april, let redet men utrolig skønt temperament."
"Henover forår/sommer/efterår har Delizia vokset meget i perioder, og det har betydet meget i forhold til træning og præstationsniveau = mange lette træningsperioder og i dag måler hun ca. 168/169 cm."
To spændende heste med i feltet
"Hvad Delizia mangler i styrke har hun til gengæld i arbejdsiver! Når hun bliver stærk nok vil hendes skønne galop komme virkelig til udtryk, og det samme med traven. Skridten fejler heller ikke noget, så mon ikke den også blir stærk nok på et tidspunkt. (hvis Kipling kunne, kan Delizia også-:)."
"Så, om hun går afspændt rundt og får vist sig fra sin ypperste side, blir hun ikke sidst. Vil også nyde at se Kittel på hende - selvom det måske vil se lidt morsomt ud."
"Har desuden en anden skøn hest med i Unghestechampionatet Uno Elando, meget anderledes type, men meget komplet med en fantastisk skridt og super trav, den kan også godt ryge op, hvis den går afslappet rundt."
Forberedelserne frem mod Herning og UVM drømme
"Delizia har haft meget varieret ridning alt afhængig af vækst, dvs fra 3-5 gange om ugen, mange skridtture ude, meget god gavn af vandbånd (er så heldig vi har det skønneste wellness sted på gården)."
"Delizia har ikke været særlig stærk i sin ryg pga. vækst, og derfor har jeg aldrig siddet særlig meget ned før nu. Det er også først nu hun kommer med til træning hos Rune Willym, og er ikke i tvivl om den tid er givet godt ud! Om der går endnu et halvt år eller 1 år, så ved jeg den kommer. Tror på den som en meget komplet hest, let ved de samlende øvelser, nem galoptur og så et fantastisk sind. Kvik, sød, arbejdsivrig og samtidig tilpas tændt."
"Hvis alting flasker sig, kan hun sagtens blive et UVM emne, hun har det der skal til på den lange bane. Derfor valgte jeg også at købe halvdelen af Delizia, da Kaj blev solgt til mit juniorbarn Natalie Hering."

"Det største problem med at have Lotte Liv Kulle som medejer, var i september hvor stakkels Delizia fik 400 gram dækken på! Det er vi kommet over - jeg rider og Lotte køber udstyr, og nu er vi på ferie sammen."
"Som en klog dyrlæge sagde engang: Jeg overlader hingstene 14 dage før til andre, ellers vil jeg for meget!"
"Så i de 8 dage hvor jeg nu er på ferie går Delizia på vandbånd, og den skønneste pige Ditte passer og plejer hende de andre dage, incl. hygge ridning. Fold som vanlig hvis vejret tillader det og ellers skridtmaskine. Så, Delizia er vidst ikke overtrænet op til Herning, for hun skal jo holdes fit, også på den lange bane!"
Positive pisk på hjemmefronten og super heste i stalden
"Når vi kommer hjem fra ferien som vi nyder i Thailand lige nu, så pisker Verdens bedste Rune os, Lene Theil fra Fit4you.dk pisker mig, og så må vi vel være klar til Herning."
"Iøvrigt aldrig før haft så gode heste i stalden som nu - bedre sent end aldrig og den bedste fornemmelse at gå på arbejde med," slutter Anne Troensegaard.
