Berider Bjarne Elefsen til Askelund Dressurstald
Efter fire et halvt år i Australien er Bjarne Elefsen nu tilbage i Danmark.
I Australien har Bjarne undervist ved landssamlinger for senior og junior/youngrider, haft en para-dressurrytter med ved WEG i Frankrig og trænet ungheste kvalificeret til UVM. Han har ligeledes været State Coach ved Equestrian Queensland og haft adskillige lilletur samt GP rytterer med ved de Australske mesterskaber.
Inden Bjarne tog til Australien har han i mange år været daglig leder i Holte Rideklub og han har bl.a. arbejdet for Hasse Hoffmann i Ebeltoft.
På Askelund Dressurstald er vi utrolig glade for at kunne byde Bjarne velkommen og vi ser frem til et godt samarbejde hvor hest og rytter er i fokus. Bjarne er nu bosat på og driver sin virksomhed fra Askelund Dressurstald i Ledøje, 2765 Smørum. Vi anser Bjarne som værende en kæmpe kapacitet med fagligheden helt i top. Bjarne glæder sig til at byde nye som gamle kunder velkommen.

As a lot of the stallions from Danish Warmblood licensing attracts a lot of interest from abroad, you can now also find the descriptions in English.
You can find descriptions of all stallions for 10-day observation test here, including final approval of the 6 year old Ferrari OLD.
About the 10-day observation test
This test is held in the spring right after the Danish Warmblood Stallion Show and is an observation test lasting 10 days. The test is open to young colts approved for testing and approved 4-year-olds that have not passed a performance test before.
In the test period the colts are exercised lightly in accordance with acknowledged principles of educating young riding horses.
The stallions are observed for stereotypics during handling and general management in the stable.
The exercise includes riding but not jumping under saddle.
No scores are given and there is no final test. The breeding commission and the station test manager decide in concert which colts have passed the test successfully. The breeding commission follows the colts at the day of arrival, a few of the days during the test and on the last day of the test.
After the test a description of each young breedsire prospect is written.
The purpose of the observation test is to filter the stallions with bad temper or other for breedsires undesirable characteristics. The young colts that have passed the 10-day observation test are given permission to cover within the same year.

Lovely to see Desperados back in the arena, and together with Kristina Bröring-Sprehe they provided a really good test.
H2R comments during their test:
Desperados GER - not square halt, small unbalance hind for extended trot, good half passes, good halt bit tense rein back, bit tense hind for passage, active 1st piaffe, could stretch bit more for extended walk, good collected walk, small unbalance into passage, very nice 2nd piaffe, passage bit unbalanced hind, good 2 times, strong extended canter but lack more collection before change, good zig-zag, good 1 times, super control for both pirouettes, nice transition to trot, want to start final piaffe very early but Kristina manage to keep on, good piaffe at X.
79,739% still seems to be a very generous scoring - but agreed by all 5 judges.
2nd place for Inessa Merkulova with Mister X - they arrive for Dortmund with 2 victories from their last competition at Herning, Denmark.
Dante Weltino OLD and Therese Nilshagen scored 71,804% and from "outside" Dante looked a bit touchy today which also gave a some issues during their test.

Dante Weltino OLD SWE - nice halt but very short time, power expressive diagonal, super balance, smooth half passes, good halt bit tense rein back, good passage, bit early 1st piaffe, good transitions, bit tense extended walk, need more let go, bit tense collected walk, starts small steps before M, 2nd piaffe lack bit more forward search, bit swing 2 times lovely off the ground, superb extended canter, bit unbalanced zig-zag, nice 1 times, super sit for both pirouettes and nice control, small lack of balance for extended trot, good final but stops a few meters before final halt.
Danish Daniel Bachmann Andersen and his just 10 year old Blue Hors Zepter did an over all really nice test, with just a single error by the transition from passage to canter. They finished as no 8 with 70,913%.
Daniel told H2R after his test today: "It is a bit difficult arena to enter, but at the same time a very nice place to learn your horse to cope with the competition invironment, and Blue Hors Zepter has still a lot to learn."

Sæsonen lige er begyndt for de unge heste
"Skønt når mine heste er klar til opgaven, uanset det er meget tidligt på året, og at finaleprogrammerne er ret krævende", fortæller en meget tilfreds Jacob Nørby Sørensen fra Strömsholm.
Gårsdagens sejre er første step på vejen frem mod kvalifikation til bl.a. Falsterbo, men samtidig også et vigtigt skridt frem mod evt. UVM udtagelse. Her var Jacob jo i 2017 repræsenteret i Ermelo med Ellegaardens San Droneur.

The seventh edition of the FEI Sports Forum 2018, which will be held at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne (SUI) on 26 and 27 March, will be live-streamed on fei.org
The FEI Sports Forum 2018 will have a prominent focus on Youth.
Day 1 will host a panel of eight young and talented athletes from around the world, representing FEI disciplines. Discussions will centre around their experiences, how they see the future, the challenges they face, and the impact on their careers. In addition, we will hear from experienced professionals and experts on discussion topics of athlete welfare as well as the IOC’s toolkit regarding harassment & abuse.
Day 2 will continue the discussions on athlete welfare, focusing on concussion, medication & recreational drugs and Eventing risk management, all of which have a substantial significance and impact on present day sport and competition. Further discussion topics include optimising performance in a challenging climate, in view of the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon and Tokyo 2020, FEI Officials, as well as an update from the FEI Dressage Judging Working Group.
The entire Sports Forum 2018 will also be available to watch again on fei.org, following the end of the morning and afternoon sessions.

Auction focus - VAN OLST SALES - Kratos
Another Glamourdale / Jazz super combination. Quick off the ground, with nice closed natural frame, and nice freedom in all 3 gaits.
Kratos moves very well, has good hindleg action and nice balance. He is easy to train. Kratos is the third horse in the auction with the Glamourdale x Jazz parentage. Jazz-mare Rhotesse D herself competed very credibly at Z2-level. There are many international sport horses in this dam-line. The parentage also includes the Furst Ferdinand Z-mare, Calgary B, who is also the dam of several sport horses competing at Z-level or higher.

Mandag og tirsdag har været med træningssamling for en del af seniorerne på Blue Hors
- Cathrine Dufour med 3 heste, Atterupgaards Cassidy, Bohemian og Zundance.
- Agnete Kirk Thinggaard med 2 heste, Atterupgaards Orthilia og Blue Hors Zatchmo.
- Daniel Bachmann Andersen med 2 heste, Blue Hors Zepter og Blue Hors Don Olymbrio.
- Anna Zibandtsen med Arlando.
Derudover deltog Anders Dahl (uden hest) samt højgravide Anna Kasprzak, naturligvis også uden hest. Der var afbud fra Rikke Svane og Finckenstein TSF, da Rikke desværre havde fået influenza.
"Træningstemperaturen" var rigtig fin på alle de fremmødte ekvipager, og alle trænede super godt fortæller holdleder Helle Krasnik Trolle.
Mandag aften var der orientering fra den danske holddyrlæge Frederik Nielsen omkring bl.a. blodprøveregler når hestene skal til USA, og her deltog også repræsentanter fra nogle af de andre specialforbund under DRF.
Forårets stævneplanlægning er i gang
Frem mod årets vigtigste begivenhed VM i Tryon i USA, vil det ikke nødvendigvis være de stærkest kort som kommer til start i f.eks. Hagen som ligger i slutningen af april, og Aachen som jo traditionen tro er sidste store stævne inden mesterskaberne.
Det bliver et forår med masser af internationale stævnemuligheder, bl.a. internationale stævner på dansk grund i både Ålborg og Uggerhalne.
Derfor har landstræner Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein valgt at lade det være forholdsvis åbent i forhold til hvilke stævner de enkelte ekvipager skal starte, og Nathalie vil samtidig være i tæt dialog med rytterne om hvor og hvordan, det passer bedst muligt ind i planlægningen frem mod endelig udtagelse af holdet til VM i USA. (Kvalifikationsperioden til VM går til 13. august.)

Lovely well balanced expressive mover. From the video presentation he shows a lot of positive power in a super natural uphill frame.
Kojak PB has a brilliant future ahead of him. He was gelded not so long ago and his behaviour is therefore still a little stallion-like. He is a sturdy,powerfully-moving gelding by the stallion Glamourdale. His dam Twoolya PB is also the mother of the Small Tour horse Boolya PB, by Krack C, the ZZ-Zwaar dressage horse Etwoolya SVK, by Painted Black, and the Hanover and Oldenburg approved stallion Don Dynamo, by Painted Black. The Z2 dressage mare Woolya, by Roemer, is also a full-sister of the dam of the KWPN-approved stallion Rousseau, by Ferro.

EU-Kommissionen har lagt op til, at handel med levende dyr skal udgå af reglerne om forbrugerkøb, hvilket sandsynligvis betyder, at den danske købelov på dette område føres tilbage til de regler, der var gældende før 1999
Den danske købelov indeholder i dag et afsnit, der tildeler forbrugere en udvidet beskyttelse sammenlignet med erhvervsdrivende købere, og disse regler blev indført som følge af forbrugerdirektivets vedtagelse i 1999 i EU.
De store organisationer World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses og European Horse Network har lagt et stort arbejde i at påvirke Europakommissionen til en direktivændring omkring lovgivningen om handel med levende dyr, og det viser sig nu, at lobbyarbejdet har båret frugt. Den 20. februar 2018 foreslog EU-Kommissionen, at handel med levende dyr helt skal udgå af reglerne om forbrugerkøb.
Kort udsigt til lovændring
Det vurderes, at direktivforslaget vedtages af EU-Parlamentet inden for seks måneder, og som en følge af direktivets vedtagelse antages det, at den danske købelov ændres, så afsnittet om forbrugerkøb helt undtages handel med levende dyr.
– Det er en meget opløftende nyhed, der kan få stor betydning for dansk hesteavl. Mange avlere har siden 1999 mistet lysten og modet til at avle, da købeloven i mange tilfælde har medført store økonomiske konsekvenser for sælgerne, som ofte er avlerne, sig formand for Dansk Varmblod, Jan Pedersen.
Jan Pedersen er også formand for den internationale paraplyorganisation for 75 ridehesteavlsforbund, WBFSH (World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses), som er en af hovedaktørerne, der har arbejdet målrettet for at påvirke EU-Kommissionen til en direktivændring.
Tilbage til tidligere regler
Ændres den danske købelov, så afsnittet om forbrugerkøb helt undtages handel med levende dyr, bliver retsstillingen formentligt den, at salg af levende dyr – uanset om det er til forbrugere eller erhvervsdrivende – alene omfattes af de regler, som var gældende forud for forbrugerdirektivets vedtagelse i 1999.
Det antages videre, at en sælger i forbrugerkøb blandt andet vil kunne aftale, at sælger ikke skal bære risikoen for fx skjulte mangler. Denne mulighed vil i praksis have stor betydning, eftersom det på nuværende tidspunkt ikke er muligt for sælger i forbrugerkøb at fraskrive sig sit ansvar.
Endvidere vil den såkaldte ’omvendte bevisbyrderegel’ udgå. Det betyder konkret, at det er køber, der skal bevise, at hesten er mangelfuld, uanset om manglen viser sig inden for de første seks måneder efter levering til køber.
Forbedret retsstilling for sælger
Endeligt ændres reklamationsfristen således, at det bliver muligt for sælger at indgå aftale med køber om, at køber har en kortere absolut reklamationsret end den nugældende på to år. Således bliver det fx tilladt at aftale, at køber alene kan reklamere over mangler, såfremt reklamation sker inden udløbet af fx tre måneder efter levering. Det skal dog præciseres, at såfremt sælger har tilbageholdt oplysninger, da vil sælger ikke kunne afskære køber fra at reklamere og dermed ej heller sit ansvar, uanset om parterne har aftalt en tidsbegrænset reklamationsfrist.
Overordnet kan det altså konstateres, at en vedtagelse af direktivforslaget sandsynligvis vil tildele sælger af levende dyr en større aftalefrihed i forbrugerkøb end hidtil, ligesom sælgers retsstilling i en række andre henseender forbedres.

The 35 best Danish Warmblood Young Horses, 5 year old qualified regional during last autumn, and the 24 best from the first two days at Herning went on to test riding by Patrik Kittel. 15 horses Saturday and 9 Sunday to be tested.
It was a very educational, talking and positive Kittel in the saddle of the young horses, and he gave both the audience and the horses some very good time at Boxen arena.
In total Kittel gave a clear 10 five times when testing the 24 horses.
In front and outstanding all the way
The big impressive top mover Zhaplin Langholt by Glock´s Zonik / Stedinger presented by Andreas Helgstrand stood out from the start to the final. And it was also obvious when Kittel got in the saddle that the gelding just did everything he was asking for and at the same time with top qualities. Well deserved 10 for both ride ability and potential and overall clear winner.
"That was really a pleasure to do, I have to say"
Day 1 at the test riding the mare Atterupgaards Mildura DWB by Blue Hors Zack / Lord Sinclair presented by Carina Cassøe Krüth gave Patrik Kittel the best feeling, and he gave her a 10 for ride ability. After the testing Kittel said: "I have to say this horse gave me everything I want in a test riding, it has everything walk, trot and canter, ok it could reach a bit more for the trot. It has a quick explosive trot, fantastic in the hand, I gave her a 10 for ride ability".
10 for ride ability and 10 for potential
Day 2 with words of praise from test rider Patrik Kittel about Delizia by Fürstenball / De Noir ridden by Anne Troensegaard.
"Nice contact, good light search for the hand, trot through the body, nice hot for the canter. Fantastic horse for the future, OMG".
At the same time Kittel appointed Delizia as the most happy horse.

Classic Briolinca and Gareth Hughes wins CDI3 Grand Prix at Keysoe, GBR
Friday with CDI3 Grand Prix at Keysoe
Gareth Hughes showing a very nice balanced test, with just some minor issues, where the walk tour becomes with some tensions, and the subsequent piaffe also is shown with some tension. The overall impression is a very nice a easy picture.
Fiona Bigwood and her newly purchase 14 year old Danish Warmblood Kjærholms Abutsiaq by Michellino made their international debut with a 3rd place. No major errors, but lacking yet more fine tuning for the piaffe tours and transitions. Nice expression for the trot tour, good walk and nice series and good sit for pirouettes, 2nd pirouette becomes bit unbalanced out. Best piaffe with good transition out at the final centerline.
Best placed Danish combination is Ulrik Mølgaard with his Michellino son Michigan - they were placed as no 8 with 67,674%. Nice power for the trot tour. Super walk tour. The first piaffe lack more flow and go, and unfortunately an error at the end of the one times.
Danish Anders Dahl and Sir Donato finished as no 10 with 65,696%. Nice trot tour, the first two piaffe tours are very much forward. A small error in the mid of the one times. Both canter pirouettes becomes a bit unbalanced.
