Convincing victory

Isabell showed a strong performance with just some minor issues and also with the great score of 81,326%.

Emilio GER - expressive extended trot, good crossing lack bit carriage, good halt bit tense rein back, easy piaffe/passage and transitions, good walk but short collected walk, ditto 2nd piaffe, small unbalanced after transition to canter, good 2 times, good zigzag, nice 1 times, good pirouettes, small tension transition to trot, power diagonal, super final including top halt.

Next placements

It became very close race for the next placed combinations, but from H2R point of view Patrik Kittel and the lightfooted mare Well done de la Roche were no 2. So much ease and lightness, with only weak point for the extended trot tours, where Well Done still miss more real push and let go.

2nd - Zaire-E is in general a kind of running a bit over the ground, but of course very well presented and without any technical issues.

Zaire GER - bit spooky end of extended trot, lack bit suppleness half pass to right, left better, bit tense rein back, nice 1st piaffe passage active expressive, nice walk, not directly into passage, 2nd piaffe not as expressive as 1st, ok 2 times, zigzag lack bit more suppleness in the body, lovely control but bit big pirouettes, super easy final.

3rd - It was Cosmo and Sönke´s first start since last years succes at the Europeans, and it became a somewhat spooky test, but of course with some glorious trot extensions.

Cosmo GER - this is EXTENDED trot, good balance for half passes, spooky corner after half pass, over the fence for rein back, back on track extended trot, nice pi/pa tour, bit tense walk tour, super transition to passage, bit big eyes for 2nd piaffe but well managed, nice 2 times, error extended canter, tense towards C, successful one times, bit tense body for pirouettes, what an angle and rhythm for the passage 😲.

4th - Well Done De La Roche SWE - nice halt, extended lack bit more let go, supple smooth half passes, nice halt with rein back, nice light piaffe light backwards trend, nice transitions, good walk, superb transition to passage, nice 2nd pa/pi/pa, smooth 2 times, extended canter nice, supple balanced zigzag, super 1 times straight and big, nice control / balance pirouettes, super timing/quality final.

5th - For Swedens Therese Nilshagen and Dante Weltino small tensions kept them out of the top today.

Dante Weltino OLD SWE - good halt and forward, superb extended trot, nice flow half passes, superb halt bit tense rein back, bit hard into piaffe, nice steps, bit unbalanced out, good walk, becomes bit hind riders aides 2nd piaffe, nice 2 times, lovely extended canter, zigzag good, error 1 times mid, huge sit pirouettes and quality, nice transition to trot, bit tense hind passage, difficult to get out of piaffe.

Danish combinations

Nice test and the best from Dahl and Selten for a long time. Today with clear series which has been a kind of issue the last couple of times. Looked more free and obedient.

7 th - Selten HW DEN - nice power diagonal, nice side picture, good flow for half passes, nice halt rein back, good extended trot, good passage lack energy for piaffe missing bit clear rhythm, good extended walk, bit tense collected walk, good passage few piaffe steps, tense transition to canter, huge 2 times, superb zigzag, nice 1 times, lack bit more clear canter for 1st pirouette, 2nd super nice, good final.

Another great performance with the inexperienced Blue Hors Zepter. This is for sure a combination to keep an eye on for the future.

8th - Blue Hors Zepter DEN - nice halt, nice extended trot, active supple half passes, super halt rein back, nice 1st passage/piaffe/passage, good walk, could be a bit sharper into passage, lovely sit balance for piaffe and super nice active, nice forward 2 times, extended canter will full risk, unbalanced into zigzag, nice 1 times, 1st bit big pirouette, 2nd lost balance, nice final.

Arlando did unfortunately show some tensions today which of course were reflected by the points.

12th - Arlando DEN - super start, expressive diagonal, smooth half passes uphill, good halt rein back, nice extended trot, super into passage, nice transitions, easy light piaffe small lack of beat, extended walk lack bit more over track, good collected walk, small tension to passage, super 2nd pi/pa, couple changes hind before 2 times, good zigzag, nice 1 times, lovely control pirouettes++, super transition to trot, nice diagonal, strong final.

Dennis Fisker showed a strong Intermediaire I test at Aalborg Dressage Event today

Danish national junior and young rider coach Dennis Fisker has been very busy already at Aalborg Dressage Event, as he is both competing at the international small tour and the national small tour. Today with two victories - both with horses owned by Malasian Quzandria Nur.

For the international tour Dennis Fisker showed Rosenstolz. Yesterday they came 2nd, but today they were just a bit more sharp all the way, except a tense halt with rein back. Nice flow and very nice balance for shoulder in/volte/half passes, lovely extensions, the collected walk which is not the strongest exercise for Rosenstolz was active and with good rhythm, but one judge gave an 8, maybe a bit too generous. Strong canter tour with good quality for the pirouettes and series.

Danish Allan Skov showed a solid test with Showhit without any technical issues, but you could wish for a bit more carriage/balance hind for the canter tour.

Today Lone Bang Larsen and Thranegaardens Rostov did also manage to show an error free test but today´s overall picture became with some minor tensions and the overall picture was not quite with same balance as for yesterday´s Prix Sct. Georg.

VIDEO - Danish Daniel Bachmann Andersen kept the Germans behind for today´s Louisdor Preis qualifier

Prestigious victory for Danish Daniel Bachmann Andersen today in Hagen

Being foreign rider competing at this national Loiusdor Preis qualifier, which is a competition for 8-10 year old young Grand Prix horses, is as a startingpoint maybe not the easiest odds.

But a very solid and well balanced test without any issues from Blue Hors rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen with the 8 year old breeding stallion Blue Hors Veneziano by Vivaldi secured him the well deserved victory, in front of Germanys big names Hubertus Schmidt and Isabell Werth.

Qualifier for the final is Sunday 10.30 at Hagen.

Further qualifiers are:

  • Wiesbaden 18 - 21 May 2018
  • Werder 21 - 24 June 2018
  • Donaueschingen 16 - 19 August 2018
  • Ising 4 - 9 September 2018
  • Oldenburg 1 - 4 November 2018

Isabell Werth showed the expressive elegant stallion DSP Belantis by Benetton Dream, but he is still not settled enough to be able to show the piaffe steps as he is not really carrying hind, but instead showing a kind of pushing out and becomes somewhat crop high.

76,085% international Grand Prix Special nearly speaks for itself

Today´s victory for Danish Cathrine Dufour with her 8 year old Bohemian at their international Grand Prix Special debut at Aalborg Dressage Event was not a single point to much.

From yesterday´s Grand Prix which she also won, the feeling for some moments were a bit

This is hard stuff, I do what I can, but the exercises are coming so quick after eachother
— Bohemian

Yesterday with some minor issues. Today showing 120% confidence and power, transformed exercise by exercise to expression and accuracy step by step. It was just a pleasure to follow, eventhough you sat a bit on the edge of the chair while watching.

Bohemian DEN - super halt, nice flow half pass left, lovely expressive passage, sharp at letters, extended walk bit tense, super collected walk, easy active regular piaffe, good transition to canter, nice balance for zigzag canter, super series just 11 at centerline (last 2 not from rider), super pirouettes. Strong final centerline. Leaving the arena without any sign of tensions - IMPRESSIVE 🌟🇩🇰

Hopefully video of the test will be available later - it is something very special to watch.

2nd today was British Emma Hindle with Romy del Sol. Again today she manage to do an error free test where Romy keeps the focus. Lot´s of power and lovely qualities still shown with some tensions.

3rd was Danish Lone Bang Larsen with Bakkely´s Onandt. Super smooth and supple trot tour, very nice relaxation for the walk tour with good quality, the piaffe tours are a bit forward. In the canter tour some errors creeping in today - looks like a bit of tensions.

Other Danish combinations

Just outside the placements Danish Helene Melsen and Aston Martin are showing a powerful and expressive trot tour, good walk and unfortunately with a couple of minor errors for the canter tour today. But nice to see the extra power and risk Helene is showing today.

Laura Mølvig and her big boy Atterupgaards Wolfgang showed at strong trot tour, but unfortunately they were loosing some valuable points for their canter tour today. The judges were a bit too far from eachother with 63% and 71% for lowest and highest.

Carina Cassøe Krüth and May-Day Graftebjerg are lacking a bit more "teamwork" today, as May-Day for more moments seems to be kind of unfocused, and of course this is expensive.

A huge CDI3 Grand Prix class today at Aalborg Dressage Event with 25 combinations at start. During the test the Danish weather seems to become quite tough with a lot of wind. And for the last combinations Charlotte Haid-Bøndergaard and her experienced Roberto des Frettes it just became too hard at the end of the canter tour, unfortunately "destroyed" more exercises.

At home soil the Danish combinations showed great strength, and Danish top rider Cathrine Dufour showed her just 8 year old Bohemian by Bordeaux for the first time at international level.

Dufour brings her great experience for this young boy into the international arena with best possible outcome. A few moments during the test where it was obvious that this is very new soil for Bohemian, and that the buttons are not yet fully adjusted. Of course Cathrine was very proud of her young partner, and told about her final centerline where Bohemian is convinced about the final halt at X. "Today´s it just felt more like tensions for the final halt instead of a proper piaffe",  Dufour said with a big smile.

With today´s debut this combination could be a very interesting card for the upcoming Nations Cup at Equitour, Uggerhalne, DEN late May.

Bohemian DEN - superb halt, bit running extended trot, nice balanced half passes, superb halt with rein back, smooth transition to expressive passage easy into nice active piaffe, super passage, extended walk could be more free, nice collected walk, ditto 2nd piaffe, error 2 times, good control zigzag, nice 1 times, superb sit and elasticity for pirouettes- wow centering 2nd pirouette, small misunderstanding for final piaffe.

Enjoy their test below in this news.

2nd today was another great Danish combination Lone Bang Larsen and Bakkely´s Onandt. Lone Bang has for sure also the experience bringing a young star into the international level, and here she has a very interesting card for the future.

2 - Bakkely’s Onandt DEN - good power, nice balance swing for half passes, not steady halt and tense rein back, small canter for extended trot, nice expression for passage good 1st piaffe, good walk tour, much forward 2nd piaffe, nice 2 times, bit unbalanced zigzag, nice 1 times, nice control/quality for pirouettes, good final.

British Emma Hindle might be this fields most experienced rider, and she bring her very talented Romanov daughter Romy de Sol. No doubt about the talent, but until today the road has been a bit difficult as Romy is a mare with a kind of "sensitive behavior" in the ring, but today Emma managed very well, although there is still room for improvement.

3 - Romy del Sol GBR - less is more. Emma Hindle must be pleased with her test today. The hot lady Romy behaved very well all the way today with just some minor issues, lovely suppleness for the trot tour, easy light piaffe and expressive passage, bit hold back walk tour and well managed canter tour.

Carina Cassøe Krüth and May-Day Graftebjerg - Herning 2018. Photo credit: H2R

Danish pro rider Carina Cassøe Krüth with May-Day Graftebjerg showed nice test today also with improvements. The "former issues" for Carina and May-Day has been about the series, and today they managed without any mistakes. Overall picture is easy and light with nice suppleness and nice contact.

4 - May-Day Graftebjerg DEN - good start with nice light expression, good half passes, good extended trot, nice transitions and easy piaffe, good passage, good walk, ditto 2 piaffe, tense transition to canter, good 2 times, good zigzag, bit swing tense 1 times, 2nd pirouette with nice control and balance, nice extended trot, good final piaffe, bit unbalanced out of piaffe.

You will find comments about every single combination at Horse2rider.com Facebook page.

De Niro sons in top of today´s CDI4 Grand Prix for freestyle at Hagen

Today´s big tour from Hagen showed a lot of qualities in the top of the field. Lovely following the entire test, and of course making a bit of comments (mentioned below in italic writing).

Ones again Daniel is very well prepared - this time with the young Blue Hors Don Olymbrio. It looks like that Daniel knows his horses so well, and at the same time brings his own experience and confidence into the ring, also showing Olymbrio with maximum output today.
