Edward Gal and Glock´s Zonik becomes sharper and sharper together in the arena, and today's result with nearly 77% shows that they are at the moment the top combination for the Netherlands towards WEG in Tryon later this year.

The trot tour is shown smooth and well balanced with good expression, nice half passes, bit open halt and a small tension for the rein back, good first piaffe with nice passage and good transitions where Edward is able to keep Zonik nicely on the spot, super nice walk tour with good stretching and relaxation for the extended walk, for the first change in the 2 times the change becomes with parallel hindlegs, rest of the canter tour is with good qualities, the centerline with the pirouettes is good and pirouettes itself are nice with good sit, but the picture becomes a bit "stallion like" as Zonik does not 100% stay in front of the aides.

Dante Weltino OLD and Therese Nilshagen has shown great consistency and form from both Equitour Aalborg and now in Rotterdam. Therese really knows Dante and can push all the buttons, today's walk tour becomes a bit tense, lovely 2 times and good qualities for both pirouettes, but unfortunately the final canter step for the 2nd pirouettes becomes a bit sideway, super nice final centerline with a top final square halt. 76,152%

Patrik Kittel and the 11 year old Well Done de la Roche just steps up their performances every time. Final score 75,804% and this is a combination where you still have the feeling of much more to reach. The extreme lightfooted mare becomes a bit tense during the test, but Kittel manage to keep her focused all the way. For the extended trot tours they still lack a more relaxation and let go power, and for sure with more points, like today's walk tour becomes a bit on the toes. Light and easy half passes with lovely balance, nice halt but a bit hind the riders hand for the rein back, super easy and very regular and expressive passage tours, nice transitions and lovely piaffe, very well performed canter tour with super nice qualities.

Placed 4th today was Emmelie Scholtens with KWPN stallion Apache. Even though Apache seems a bit focused about the warm arena when entering the ring, Emmelie is able to keep him focused on the job. They showed a sharp trot tour, a small disturb into the 1st piaffe, good walk tour, and a strong canter tour with very nice timing all the way.

American Steffen Peters and his 11 year old mare Rosamunde enters the arena as winners of the trot tour, super power for the trot, expressive crossing top balanced half passes, rein back becomes a bit sideway, the passage looks big but the picture is a bit like Rosamunde is pulling up her front legs very much without pushing clear over the back, lovely angle for the piaffe which becomes a bit over active and with some minor tensions for the transitions. Good canter tour, but swinging and tense 1 times, super nice sit for the pirouettes but the second pirouette lacking more correctness, nice final centerline. (From H2R point of view and judge at B: Mariette Sanders-van Gansewinkel (NED) the level was at 71%). Total score 74.130%.

Must say that the Dutch judge at B also was spot on with next placed combination American Salvino and Adrienne Lyle having them at 70,5% level. Their final score became somewhat over heated with 73,9%!

Results from Helgstrand Dressage stallions tested for WFFS in Germany

Logo-Helgstrand-Serveo-video.jpg

News at Helgstrand Dressage today

Modern technology makes it possible to test for more diseases, and recently the focus has been on the very rare genetic disorder, Warmblood Fragile Foal Syndrome - also known as WFFS.

Because we find that our breeders want knowledge about whether our stallions are carrying the WFFS, we have already got our stallions in Denmark tested and now also our stallions at Helgstrand Germany in Hagen have been tested with the following results.

The following stallions are not carrier of WFFS:

Don Deluxe
Kremlin MD
So Unique
Valverde

The following are carrier of WFFS:

For Sure
Jovian

There are already breeds like Friesian and Quarter horses, where genetic disorders have been registered and therefore it is not unusual that a genetic disorder now has been found in Warmbloods. Therefore, horses with the WFFS gene should not be considered ill, but as owner you just have to focus on not to combine two horses in the breed, both carrying the gene.

It is all about keeping the best horses in the breed and that is why we just recommend mare-owners to test their mares for the WFFS gene, and if the mare is a carrier, we recommend not to use a stallion which is also a carrier.

Please do not hesitate to contact us, if you have any questions.

PRESSEMEDDELELSE

Sct. Hans dag byder Slangerupgaard, Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg og tre-ganges Danmarksmester Cathrine Dufour dressurentusiaster ind bag facaden til et brag af en clinic.

“Work untill your idols become your rivals” er et af Cathrine Dufours mottoer.

I 2016 red hun OL for første gang.

VIDEO - Dujardin and MSJ Freestyle breaks the 80% in today's Grand Prix Special at Bolesworth

80,362% is the fact after today's Grand Prix Special at Bolesworth from Charlotte Dujardin with her 10-year-old MSJ Freestyle, owned by Emma Blundell.

Watch out - just 3 month before they enter the centerline at WEG in Tryon

Not much to say, just that the development from 1st time we saw the combination international till today is really impressive. Still small things to be polished, but so much controlled power and quality. Just a single 10 for the final extended trot.

Again today Danish Ulrik Mølgaard and his now 17-year-old Michigan were shining and were placed 4th. They showed a very strong test without any technical issues, and definitely not a horse look like heading towards his "autumn".

Screen Shot 2018-06-14 at 19.11.44.png

Dujardin and Hester in top of today's CDI3 Grand Prix at Bolesworth (video)

logo-bolesworth-international-horse-show.png

Strong test from Dujardin and Freestyle - nearly 80% (79,652%) - 2 judges over the magic 80%

As we just have seen this combination a few times, they already improved. The piaffe tours are much more settled even though they of course still miss the experience and security together in the arena.

Super halt but not straight into trot, but with 3 walk steps into the trot, lovely half passes, top power and balance for extended trot, good halt with rein back, super nice 1st piaffe with good transitions, good walk tour, not direct up into passage from collected walk, strong canter tour but with a small error in the middle of the 1 times, nice qualities for the pirouettes with best 2nd pirouette. (video below)

Carl Hester and Hawtins Delicato also shows a very strong test. Nice smooth trot tour with supple half passes, for the halt with rein back the halt itself lack a bit longer halt before asking for rein back, small tensions for the 1st piaffe tour, but does not the disturb the rhythm or balance, lovely expressive passage, for the extended walk would could wish for a bit more stretching of the neck but the walk quality is good, like for the collected walk, very nice 2nd piaffe tour, small unbalance for the zig-zag, nice series, good qualities for pirouettes but could be a bit more centered. Lovely angles for the piaffe and passage tours. 77,217%.

At the moment it looks like Gareth Hughes will be the 3rd spot for the team, but we haven't seen Spencer Wilton with Super Nova II this year internationally yet. And next in the line must be Emile Faurie.

Bit outside the team is British Henriette Andersen with Flavio. Today they showed personal best score with 70,783% and also best test. No technical issues well balanced test, still the piaffe tours need more power off the ground and a bit cautious transitions out. Super nice well performed canter tour.

Only Danish combination was British based Ulrik Mølgaard with his now 17-year-old Michigan. They showed a very strong test and from the sideline also a test that showed more than the final score of 69,978%. Super strong trot tour with and OUTSTANDING halt with rein back, totally balanced square halt at the letter, diagonal supple rein back with 5 steps and direct forward to trot - just rewarded with 6,5 - 6,5 - 8 - 8 - 6,5, a clear 9 from H2R point of view. The piaffe tours still lacking more suppleness and Michigan becomes a bit locked in his own way of doing the piaffe, good extended walk, becomes a bit hurried for the collected walk tour, the 2nd piaffe is with more activity, very solid canter tour, with huge series, pirouettes could show more sit, nice final with very nice passage.

Accurate and smooth winning Prix Sct. Georg yesterday evening from Dujardin and Florentina

Screen Shot 2018-06-13 at 07.49.30.png

75,235% test

What a pleasure to have Charlotte Dujardin back on the screen. Dujardin just shows how to ride all the way, and her way of riding a test makes the overall picture so easy.

The 8 year old grey mare Florentina by Vivaldi / Rubels shows a super well balanced trot tour, smooth half passes, all the way the same rhythm and balance, super walk tour with nice walk pirouettes, nice canter tour without any technical issues, lovely preparation into the pirouettes, the first pirouettes lacking 1 or 2 strides, while the 2nd is with superb quality. Three times series becomes a bit tense and with small swinging changes, the final extended canter becomes a bit conservative.

Charlotte Dujardin also came 2nd with the 9 year old mare River Rise Escarla by Lord Leatherdale / Ferro, they just had a big issues with the transition from walk to canter, where Escarla misunderstands the signal from Dujardin a couple of times before making the transition at A. Smooth trot tour, good walk but not with same relaxation as Florentina, very strong canter tour with superb pirouettes and nice series.
