Screen%2BShot%2B2019-04-26%2Bat%2B19.29.53.jpg

Since 2007 Louisdor Preis was established as a pilot project for 8 - 10 year old Grand Prix horses on their way to the international scene. A really great competition which has brought a lot of top horses for the top sport over the years.

Today’s Intermediare II was won by Senta Kirchhoff with 9 year old Danish bred gelding L`Arbuste by Skovens Rafael / Zardin Firfod, bred by Morten Plenborg. The combination was as 7 year old placed as no 6 at the final at WCYH in Ermelo, and since then they’ve been successful at small tour level. They look like Sunday´s winner as they showed a very harmonious test today without any technical issues.

Placed 3rd today was the stallion For Romance OLD with Swedish Therese Nilshagen (video of the test below). From H2R point of view For Romance OLD and the stallion Franziskus are showing many similarities at this level.

12 combinations qualified for Sunday´s final qualifier

VIDEO - Expression with Diederik van Silfhout looked very much like today's winner of CDI4 Grand Prix in Hagen today

Today’s winner Frederic Wanders with Duke of Britain with 73.848%

Today’s winner Frederic Wanders with Duke of Britain with 73.848%

Best ever test from Diederik van Silfhout with Expression N.O.P. today (video of test below)

The improvement of the general activity from the hindlegs was just so obvious since last time we saw them at the three earlier competitions this year.

All the way with the ears pricked and looking ambitious and powerful - just a lovely test to follow without any weak points, and 100% hat off for the improvement and strength in quite a short time, and the way Diederik is able to improve the quality and activity in the final piaffe just makes this combination together with the super balance all the way today’s clear winner combination by H2R.

H2R comments during the tests: (there are more tests with comment at H2R Facebook page.

1) Duke of Britain GER - good halt, nice diagonal, good half passes, nice halt with rein back, nice diagonal, good flow for 1st passage/piaffe/passage tour, super relaxation for extended walk with good over track, good collected walk, nice 2nd piaffe with good transitions, nice 2 times with good expression, good zig-zag, error final of 1 times, good pirouettes 2nd becomes big, late transition to trot, good diagonal, passage lack bit activity, lack more flow into piaffe, good piaffe, nice halt.

3) Expression N.O.P. NED - open halt, super power for diagonal, nice balance and crossing for half passes, bit tense rein back, power diagonal, nice transition to passage, super nice side picture for piaffe easy transition out, lot of EXPRESSION, good walk tour, super nice 2nd passage/piaffe/passage, nice 2 times, nice zig-zag, nice 1 times, nice active pirouettes, 2nd bit big, good transition at M, super power diagonal, very nice final and manage to put in more activity hind for the piaffe, nice halt. See the results with detailed marking for the entire class here.

Enjoy the winner from H2R point of view today:

Danish Anders Dahl and his Olympic partner Selten HW was the only Danish combination, unfortunately Selten did not show much cooperation for today’s piaffe tours.

Selten HW DEN - Good halt, nice power for diagonal, good balance for half passes nice swing, good halt with rein back, good transition to passage, lack bit more clear activity for 1st piaffe and travelling forward, good extended walk, some tensions final of collected walk, lack activity and some resistance for 2nd piaffe, nice 2 times, good extended canter, nice zig-zag, good 1 times, very centred need more activity in the canter for the pirouettes, good diagonal, nice passage, bit tense final piaffe, bit open halt.

Successful presentation last night at Van Olst Sales

Van-Olst-Auction-BIG-banner.jpg

DEN HOUT - Last night Van Olst Horses Den Hout was the setting for the presentation of the auction collection of the Van Olst Sales. The 34 talented ridden dressage horses, mostly from their own stallions, were presented under the man. A large number of people from home and abroad traveled to Den Hout to view the auction horses with their own eyes.

Gertjan about the evening: “I am really proud of what we have achieved as a team. Not just tonight, but since we started training this collection. The horses showed themselves well. That is nice to see since most of them have not been under the saddle for that long and the entourage was impressive. ”

The high-quality horses also attracted many foreign interested parties to the presentation evening. The owner of Van Olst Horses says about this: “It gives great confidence that our foreign customers were also present this evening. You see that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a good young dressage horse. An auction like this is ideal. There will be a presentation on Friday. In the evening we will see how interested people are. That is exciting every year. "

Second presentation: Friday, April 19 - 3 p.m.

Auction: Friday, April 19 - 7:30 p.m.

Helgstrand Dressage stallion show 2019 - much more than just a show

The stage was set for an extraordinary experience Saturday afternoon at Helgstrand Dressage

The stage was set for an extraordinary experience Saturday afternoon at Helgstrand Dressage

32 young stallions were shown under the saddle during intensive 3 hours with a fully packed arena at Helgstrand Dressage Saturday afternoon.

Out of the 32 stallions 4 of them were jumping stallions from Helgstrand Dressage partner Deckstation Schockemöhle.

It was a very proud host Andreas Helgstrand himself welcoming for Helgstrand Dressage 10 year anniversary stallion show. As he told it was not the intention 10 years ago becoming the “main player” offering semen from the best stallions in Europe for clients from all over the world, but here he is today, all underlined by Andreas Helgstrand being grateful from all his business partners making it possible to purchase the best young stallions, and of course the entire team Helgstrand making this day something extraordinary.

More than “just” a show

It became a very special treatment for all dressage lovers, with a very well timed program without any breaks, but super sharp one stallion after the other, with of course all informations and for most of them comments in the arena from either Andreas Helgstrand himself, Thomas Sigtenbjerggaard, Ulf Möller or Cathrine Dufour.

H2R top 3 stallions of the day

It´s hardly not possible just to choose 3 stallions from the 28 presented, but H2R has 3 favorites from the show:

The newly purchased OLD saddle licensing champion Fynch Hatton just brings something extraordinary. From watching this stallion at the video presentation for the licensing, to the honouring at the licensing and to the auction presentation - he not just look extremely handsome, bringing a super cool overview for every single situation. Here below as Helgstrand tells the rider Kenneth Damgaard has just been in the saddle twice before this show. This is a very special top quality boy.

Sezuan is for sure a favorite stallion at Helgstrand. Sezuan produces impressive offsprings, big framed, well moving and very rideable.

The presentation from Eva Möller with So Unique was really nice. The big expressive boy just shows so much positive power and willingness under Eva with 3 super gaits always well balanced.

Jovian under Andreas Helgstrand looks like a couple for the podium at WCYH later this year in Ermelo. So much expression and uphill - more is not possible.

As clear a surplus the foals born this year all looks very appealing.

Just below H2R top 3 are the two young stallions by Kastel´s Grand Galaxy Win, both light-footed, modern and with 3 supple gaits.

Different bloodlines

Both Lord Europe (Lord Leatherdale / Boston ) and Kardieno (Dante Weltino / Parcival (Gelder)) brings some different and new bloodlines. Both stallions are big framed, long legged and impressive movers.

Remember you can watch the entire stallion show at Clipmyhorse archive.

Great power comeback for Showtime FRH with Dorothee Schneider

IMG_0438.jpeg

Strong comeback for top horse Showtime FRH

Saturday with first performance since Grand Prix last year in Aachen, and where Dorothee had to withdraw for the Grand Prix Special as Showtime was not fit. Since then we haven’t seen Showtime, and yesterday was their comeback performance at CDI4 at Ebreichsdorf AUT.

As we know Showtime and Dorothee it was a powerful test all the way. Super balance and suppleness for the trot tour, easy piaffe with good transitions, super passage with lovely elevation and spring, good walk tour, for the canter some tensions creeping in, and a lost of balance for zigzag canter brings them both a bit out of the rhythm, as Showtime loosing the canter before going into the one times at the diagonal.

Grand Prix Special

+80% comeback score today was fully deserved. So much expression, power and suppleness for the trot / passage tour, super walk tour, easy piaffe tours, good canter still with some tensions for the series but Dorothee manage without any technical issues, beautiful final.

They are ready for the German team, and the next month they just have to re-build their partnership in the arena, and cross finger for staying healthy.

Zaire-E and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl wins CDI4 Grand Prix for kür at Ebreichsdorf AUT

Experienced Jessica and Zaire winner of Grand Prix with 75,826%

The long time partnership between Jessica and Zaire ones again paid off in yesterday’s Grand Prix. In general a well scored test as you could wish for more clear transitions into the piaffe tours, and lacking more suppleness over the back for the canter tour.

Dorothee Schneider and Pathetic showing a good test with some minor issues, and in general the mare is lacking the absolute top qualities, but Dorothee is showing the mare with exactly the maximum pressure and keeping the overall picture steady all the way.

H2R focus horses

Lost Gem

Lost Gem is a big mare with tremendous expression. She moves with a lot of balance and technique. As well as a wonderfull future as a sporthorse, she is also suitable as broodmare. Her sire George Clooney is doing very well at Small Tour level and his first offspring is very promising under the saddle. Her “free” bloodlines without all the famous Dutch Stallions, make her also intersting for breeding. Dam Zaffira is also mother to Small Tour-horse Begijnhoeve’s Emerald (by Wynton) and Just Me (by Everdale) who’s doing very well in young horse comepitions and was sold at the Van Olst Sales 2017.

Loverdale W

Loverdale W is another fantastic son of the World Champion Glamourdale. Loverdale W is a big, strong horse with three suberb paces. He has everything he needs to grow into a super competition star. Loverdale shows a lot of action and rhythm in his paces. He is also the full brother to the NRPS stallion Gladiator. His dam line gave Grand Prix-horse Domino (by Spielberg) and the well known stallion Don Juan de Hus (by Jazz).

Luxor

Luxor, born out of the classic combination of Lord Leatherdale and Negro. This stunning Lord Leatherdale-son is very easy to ride and has a very impressive front leg action. Luxor is a magnificent horse with great expression and allure. This dam line produced very impressive sporthorses like; Grand Prix-horse Numberto (by Negro), international Prix St. George-horse Willem Alexander (by Negro) and FEI World Champion 2018 Glamourdale (by Lord Leatherdale). Luxor is heading toward a bright future.
