VIDEO - Daniel Bachmann showing strong performance with Blue Hors Don Olymbrio the first day at Danish national championship

Screen+Shot+2019-06-07+at+22.49.21.jpg

In general good level for this years Danish championship

It was a really nice field of competitors today at Uggerhalne, but the differences in the mid of the field were actually more clear than the results were showing.

Top 3 for today’s Grand Prix

Blue Hors Don Olymbrio - small unbalance half, super diagonal, nice swing half passes uphill, halt with rein back superb, super diagonal, nice 1st piaffe and passage easy transitions, super walk tour, super 2nd piaffe/passage, super 2 times, nice extended canter, nice zigzag, error begin 1 times, super pirouettes, smooth transition to trot, lovely balanced diagonal, super final centerline.

Bohemian - superb halt, good diagonal, supple half passes, super halt with rein back, superb 1st piaffe tour, good walk, super solid canter tour with some moments with shorter neck, lost balance for 1st pirouette, super 2nd pirouette, nice final.

Jojo AZ - super halt, good diagonal, lacking carriage half pass left, good halt rein back, super nice 1st piaffe with transitions, good walk, superb 2nd piaffe with passage, good 2 times, good zigzag, nice 1 times, good control pirouettes, super final.

Even though Daniel and Don O did not produce an error free test they showed so much qualities all the way (enjoy the video below). It was not really a top day for Dufour with her young Bohemian as Dufour unfortunately did not manage to keep him out in the frame for the canter tour today. Agnete and Jojo produced an error free test with many highlights today. Zack and Daniel came 2nd today not showing same high qualities as Don O today.

Exciting combinations

Lone and Onandt showed a strong performance without any technical isses today which brought them into the 5th place.

British based Anders Dahl showed both his Olympic partner Selten HW and his new international partner Fidelio van het Bloemenhof. Fidelio is a horse with the entire package, trot, canter, walk, piaffe and passage, and natural supple in the body in a nice frame all the way, unfortunately a misunderstanding from collected walk to passage today with canter and also affecting the subsequent piaffe tour - very expensive and clearly kept them away from today’s podium.

Super job from Blue Hors rider Nanna Merrald with both Sådan Que and Wasabi OLD. Sådan Que were definitely missing some more points for the piaffe / passage tours.

Marianne with Lollipop with debut at national championships with some minor issues, but for sure some high quality moments.

2nd year at national championship for Sanne and Hannah Montana. Superb piaffe tours with smooth transitions and very nice extended walk, unfortunately not rewarded from the judges today.

Signe Kirk Kristiansen with Her Highness O showed a very nice test. Overall impression with a nice and easy picture, and Her Highness looks like a real friend in the arena.

Susanne and Sir James are new at the championships. Many errors due to clearly lack of routine, but a very positive impression, where Sir James all the way trying his best, and sometimes a bit mixed up, but all the way with the ears pricked and with positive attitude.

All combinations are ready for tomorrow Grand Prix Special, except Chadunno which has been withdrawn from the competition. Monday´s freestyle is for the 15 best combinations, and every rider is only allowed to rider one horse each.

Ludwig der Sonnenkönig and Victoria Vallentin in the lead after 1st day of Danish national U25 championship

Ludwig der Sonnenkönig and Victoria Vallentin - photo credit: Thomas Bisgaard

Clear leader of the 1st part of Danish national championship U25 Intermediaire II today

Victoria and Ludwig showed an effortless nice test, nice balance and expression all the way, easy piaffe tours with nice transitions, good canter pirouettes but could show a bit more clear active canter for both pirouettes, good series.

Søren and Diego with a very nice test, nice frame all the way, light contact and good expression, lack a bit more balance and control for both canter pirouettes, the final transition to trot at C becomes through walk.

Josefine with Driver shows that less is more, as Driver looks concentrated with good power and expression all the way today. The only issue today was the extended walk where Driver was lacking bit more clear relaxation.

CDI5 Grand Prix Special victory for just 9 year old ZINQ Abegglen FH in Munich and CDI4 Grand Prix freestyle debut victory in Hamburg to Susan Pape with Don Noblesse

CDI4 Hamburg

Also pretty easy Grand Prix Special 73,00% victory for Frederic Wandres with Duke of Britain, while Juliane Burfeind with her 10 year old gelding Devanto came 3rd (70,085%), and at Danish judge Hans Chr. Matthiesen she was the winner (71,809%). Super nice development of this young Grand Prix horse, showing more strength and power now, easy in and out of passage tour with good extensions, lacking bit more strength for transitions into the piaffe tours but nice transitions out, both pirouettes also need more strength and sit, but overall impression with an easy supple picture.

Susan Pape with Harmony´s Don Noblesse took their first ever Grand Prix freestyle victory in Hamburg yesterday. Nice harmonious test with just a mixed up serie on curved track, easy pirouettes and nice piaffe tours. 75,850%

CDI5 Munich

The commentator at Clipmyhorse at Pferd International Malte Kanz is doing a great job, lovely comments with small details along each test.

Top top test from Marcus Hermes with his 9 year old ZINQ Abegglen FH - super piaffe tours, easy passage, and the most eye catching is the very light contact all the way to a closed and “zufrieden” mouth. No technical issues and no difficult moment, and a superb final centerline, active piaffe at the spot easy in and out, and a well deserved pat on the neck after the piaffe from Marcus - 73,872%.

Placed in combinations in CDI5 Grand Prix Special:

Dorothee Schneider with top performances yesterday at Pferd International in Munich

CDI3 Grand Prix Special victory with Sammy Davis Jr and personal best score

Sammy Davis Jr and Dorothee Schneider - photo credit: Lily Forado

Sammy Davis Jr and Dorothee Schneider - photo credit: Lily Forado

Superb concentration, top motivation and top performance = PB score 78,234% for Dorothee Schneider with Sammy Davis Jr. The Grand Prix spooky issues were gone, and they showed super form, lovely forward flow and super nice balance all the way, no technical issues, just the 2nd pirouette becomes a bit big. Really their best test ever also seen from the “sideline”.

Watch the test here:

CDI5 Grand Prix victory with Showtime FRH

Showtime FRH is just something very special. So much power, expression and without tension for the trot tour - a pleasure to watch. The passage is just in a league of its own, the regularity, elevation and expression the just the best at the international scene at the moment, not even Weihegold OLD can produce this picture.

The test was clear until the final change for the zigzag with bit of tension and then with parallel hind, and unfortunately the tension followed for the subsequent one times with an error in the middle.

Screen+Shot+2019-06-01+at+09.50.31.jpg

Escolar just 10 year old with Hubertus Schmidt

Wow first piaffe, so easy in and out, and just stepping under the body in a nice and light rhythm, super flow and through the body one times, both pirouettes becomes a bit to big Overall obedient picture ready for the signals from the rider.

Dalera BB and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl with another top performance

A small “explosion” during the two times kept them away from the 2nd place today. Small tensions for one times, and what a final centerline, top passage, super sit for piaffe and smooth transitions.

Placed combinations in CDI5 GP:

CDI4 Hamburg and CDI3 München-Riem has started yesterday

CDI4 Grand Prix in Hamburg

Hamburg with victory for favorite Frederic Wandres with Duke of Britain showing a strong effortless test all the way except the first pirouette where he lost the balance out.

Top of the CDI4 Grand Prix placements in Hamburg.

Screen+Shot+2019-05-31+at+09.11.24.jpg

CDI3 Grand Prix München-Riem

München-Riem with Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Zaire E just in front of Benjamin Werndl with Daily Mirror and Matthias Bouten 3rd with Meggle Boston.

Jessica showing a strong test without any technical issues, the piaffe tours becomes very forward travelling.

Placed as no 6 with “just” 70% is Dorothee Schneider with Sammy Davis Jr. Today something very dangerous came up at C, wether it was the flower or the cameraman under the umbrella next to the judging house at C you could not see, but the entire trot tour was affected by tension and spinning before halt at C, the canter tour went well until the 1st pirouette where it looks like Sammy is misunderstanding the signals from Dorothee and keep on trying to do a pirouette in counter canter.

Isabell Werth and Emilio was at the start list but did not show.

10th national title for Edward Gal and his 3rd with Danish Warmblood stallion Glock´s Zonik by Blue Hors Zack / Romanov bred by Linette Jæger DEN. Record holder is still Anky van Grunsven with a total of 13 national championships.

Hans Peter Minderhoud and Glock´s Dream Boy with silver and Emmelie Scholtens for the first time at the podium with bronze with Apache.

From the Grand Prix the first day it was a clear more sharp and willing Dream Boy, but from the judges point of view a Gal/Zonik win. For the freestyle Zonik and Gal showed a really really nice test - deserved winner.

VIDEO - Danish team winner of CDIO4 at Equitour Uggerhalne with two very sharp Grand Prix Special tours today

Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio during CDI4 in Herning 2019

Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio during CDI4 in Herning 2019

Strong performances for the Danish team today with two combinations for Grand Prix freestyle, Agnete Kirk Thinggaard with Jojo AZ and Carina Cassøe Krüth with May-Day Graftebjerg, and two riders for Grand Prix Special Cathrine Dufour with Bohemian and Daniel Bachmann Andersen with Blue Hors Don Olymbrio.

All four combinations showed stronger tests today than for the Grand Prix.

Cathrine Dufour and Bohemian showed a strong test, much better form throughout the test which also shows that he is getting stronger, and when still think of him as just 9 year old, it is just amazing. Small tensions for the first two piaffe tours and lost the balance a bit out of 2nd pirouette - 76,745%.

Sweden Therese Nilshagen and Dante Weltino OLD showed their best test ever (not from the scoreboard). Super power and suppleness for the trot tour trending 81%, bit hurried extended walk, the piaffe tours lack bit more clear rhythm and flow out in to passage, super strong canter tour, nice flow, huge sit for both pirouettes - 77,362%.

Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio knocking seriously at the Grand Prix Special +80% door. No technical issues, even better and more controlled pirouettes today, small tension for 1st piaffe, huge control, fully between hand, seat and legs all the way and starting with 78% from the entering halt and kept this level all the way - 78.809%

Very pleased Danish team coach

Danish team coach Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein was very pleased with the entire team, and of course happy and proud winning the team competition on home soil.

In two weeks the Danish national championship comes up, and after the championship the selection for Nordic Baltic Championship ( 26 - 30 June) at Vilhelmsborg, DEN and for CHIO Aachen (17 - 21 July) will take place.

VIDEO - Total Hope and Isabel Freese qualified for Nürnberger Burg-Pokal final with impressive 77,293%

Total Hope and Isabel Freese from presentation at Danish Warmblood stallion show 2019 in Herning

Total Hope and Isabel Freese from presentation at Danish Warmblood stallion show 2019 in Herning

Last to go for the final qualifier today at Redefin and showing a smooth supple test without any technical issues. Super well balanced trot tour, good walk tour and super canter with lovely sit for both canter pirouettes and very straight and high quality series.

120.000 euros for Danish Warmblood colt by Franklin - Sir Donnerhall I at Nordic International Sales auction

Farrington Pilekær by Franklin - Sir Donnerhall I - De Niro bred by Stutteri Pilekær

Farrington Pilekær by Franklin - Sir Donnerhall I - De Niro bred by Stutteri Pilekær

Successful auction with top prices

Auctioneer Casper Cassøe Krüth was in top form for last nights exclusive foal auction Nordic International Sales sponsored by Stutteri EVO. The weather started very cloudy and for about the last third of the foals it was pouring down, but it still kept the buyers active.

Most expensive foal became the first foal under the hammer Farrington Pilekær a very well moving and expressive colt by Franklin with Sir Donnerhall I as damsire - final bid was 120.000 euros for Danish buyer Havgaard Horses.

2nd most expensive was the full brother of last years top price, Francetti a colt by Franklin / Sezuan sold for 105.000 euros to Stutteri EVO, which also purchased a very nice filly by Franklin / Zonik for just 28.000 euros - this expressive filly was just showing something extra with a special way of coming off the ground with super lightness.

The Springbank II VH / Blue Hors Farrell filly was sold for 70.000 euros to Søren Grønborg. A young very lightfooted and expressive Vivalis / Romanov colt was sold for 46.000 euros.

German bred foals

A super German bred colt by Valverde / Donnerhall was sold for 61.000 euros, while another German bred top fillly by So Unique / Sir Donnerhall I was sold for 57.000 euros and a very impressive filly by Jainero Platinum / Floresco was sold for 50.000 euros.

VIDEOS - Blue Hors St. Schufro winner of Intermediaire I and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio winner of CDIO4 Grand Prix today

Strong winner performance from Blue Hors riders Nanna Merrald with Blue Hors St. Schufro in small tour, Intermediaire I (74,324%) today at Equitour Aalborg, while colleague Daniel Bachmann Andersen with Blue Hors Don Olymbrio to the victory in CDIO4 Grand Prix (77,652%).

Enjoy their tests here below.

Also Danish Dufour with her young Bohemian showed a great performance for today’s CDIO4 Grand Prix, scoring lots of 9s for piaffe, passage and transition - real pleasure to watch and what a successor for her long time partner Atterupgaards Cassidy when that day comes.
