1st observation with selection for the German Young Horses in Warendorf today

This is not a stallion competition even though there are many highly frequented stallions among the participants, and also with many international top riders. Today’s comments immediately after each test was made by German national team coach Monica Theodorescu.

Among the 7 year old 14 combinations were selected, and the 14 combinations must be reduced to just 7 combinations. (NED 6, DEN 4, SWE 4). The final selection is 2nd July in Warendorf.

From today’s presentations and subsequent comments from German national team coach Monica Theodorescu, H2R dare to make THE list with the 7 combinations for WCYH today.

  • Bondeman / Betina Jæger Jensen - today’s most harmonious and effortless test, pure words of praise from Theodorescu.

  • D´avie / Severo Jurado Lopez - bit tension from start with the trot tour, beautiful frame, power and qualities in all three gaits including the demanding canter tour with both half pirouettes and series.

  • DSP Dominy / Therese Nilshagen - effortless and correct with three correct basis gaits showing nice elasticity and suppleness.

  • Fürst Donnerhall / Claudia Rassmann - beautiful picture, nice light uphill frame with good elasticity from behind.

  • Matchball OLD / Stefanie Wolf - well balanced, well trained and well presented.

  • Sisters Act OLD / Dorothee Schneider - very correct with good qualities.

  • Top Gear or Total Hope both with Isabel Freese for the final spot.

Missing from the list is Voile Rouge by Vitalis ridden by Isabel Freese, super expressive mare with power and three really good gaits, just a bit unbalanced for a few moments today, but showing huge potential.

Strong 2019 collection secured

Once again Dr. Kerstin Klieber from Dressurstall Sandbrink purchased a top foal. At the presentation the colt by Fürstenball / Glock´s Romanov showed himself with outstanding qualities, and Klieber secured herself the top colt in partnership with Ernst Kemper.

Klieber and Kemper has earlier successfully been partners with the stallions Fify-Fifty OLD and Fiderdance, and for this year Klieber is very satisfied that she already secured herself a very strong collection from this years foals.

VIDEOS - Individual podium for the Europeans of today

EC+2019.jpg

The European Championships in Rotterdam is just two month away, and why not make a small “today” prediction of the individual podium, as the absolute best three combinations just been out showing very strong performances.

Grand Prix Special at German Championship

Dorothee Schneider showed a top test yesterday with just an issue at the transition from passage to canter, where Showtime catch the wrong canter. For Werth and Bella Rose the GPS was not their day. Like for the Grand Prix Werth enters in counter canter with Bella Rose, but the centerline becomes a bit unbalanced, super trot tour with expressive half passes, good piaffe tours with super passage. Also for Werth and Bella Rose the transition to canter from passage became with transition to wrong canter, and at the short side before going into canter half passes Bella Rose loosing the canter, and when Werth continues at the diagonal starting the two times instead of canter half passes, she knew this was it for today and could of course only blame herself, and came 4th in the ranking. Gold in GPS for Showtime, Silver for Werth with Emilio and Bronze for Dalera BB.

Can anyone beat Werth with Bella Rose at a Championship?

At WEG Dujardin and Freestyle won a bronze medal - will they be able to climb the latter?

Showtime FRH back in business and ready for the podium?

Judge for yourself, but “today's “ podium from H2R is:

🥇Dujardin

🥈Schneider

🥉Werth

Grand Prix

Bolesworth - Charlotte Dujardin with Mount St. John Freestyle

Grand Prix Special

Balve - Dorothee Schneider with Showtime FRH

Grand Prix

Balve - Isabell Werth with Bella Rose

Løbende H2R kommentarer:

Carina Nevermann Torup og Soda Pop med flot trav tur, god skridt tur, i galoppen indløber der nogle spændinger i pirouetterne og koreografien bliver lidt urytmisk at følge i galopturen. Gode serier.

(7 - 69,600%).

Bella Rose or Showtime FRH?

The difference from the judges for today’s Grand Prix at national German championship between Bella Rose and Showtime FRH was as tiny as 0,680%.

From H2R point of view the tiny advance was for Showtime today.

But what a competition when Germany “invites” for championship, the overall level tells it all with +74% at top 10!

VIDEO - Dujardin and Hester dominates Bolesworth International

Charlotte Dujardin and MSJ Freestyle - photo credit: Lily Forado

Charlotte Dujardin and MSJ Freestyle - photo credit: Lily Forado

Yesterday with nice Prix Sct. Georg victory for Carl Hester with the 9 year old Brioso, showing a smooth test with highlights of both superb controlled canter pirouettes and smooth series. Score 74,618% - 4% ahead of no 2.

Danish Ulrik Mølgaard and Salo showed at good test, but unfortunately Salo had some moments of “big eyes” during their test. (67,912% - 8th).

Today Hester and Brioso also took the Inter I freestyle victory with 78,520%.

See the entire results here.

80,348% for Charlotte Dujardin and MSJ Freestyle for today’s CDI3 Grand Prix

MSJ Freestyle was top sharp today together with Dujardin. Superb expression all the way, suppleness in the body and lovely contact. Only minor issue was after the transition to passage where Freestyle takes a single jump in canter when turning at K towards the first piaffe. Super nice sit in the piaffe tours and passage just from the book with equal activity and angles all the way, super series, the canter pirouettes are small but could show a bit more clear canter.

Hawtins Delicato and Carl Hester showed a super test today with just a few tiny issues. Smooth trot tour with supple half passes, superb halt with rein back, small tension into 1st piaffe, 2nd piaffe in lovely balance with easy transitions, zigzag canter lacking a bit more balance at the beginning, super nice series and good pirouettes, late transition to trot at M. 75,604% (4th).

Danish Ulrik Mølgaard and Danish Warmblood gelding Michigan came 11th with 67,587%.

VIDEO - Daniel Bachmann and Blue Hors Zack took the Danish national champion title today

Blue Hors Zack with Daniel Bachmann Andersen - photo credit: Mia Bach

Well deserved new Danish Champion 2019

🥇

After the Grand Prix Daniel took the lead with his two stallions Blue Hors Zack and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio, and for today’s freestyle Daniel has chosen Zack as his partner. They delivered a very strong test, with just an issue for the jokerline with error by the two times, superb half passes, nice passage and outstanding one times (Isabell Werth might have had full house for such a line of one times. Daniel scored 9-8-9-9-9) - judge for yourself from the video below.

🥈

Bohemian / Cathrine Dufour - Bohemian rhapsody theme, super halt, electric passage and super piaffe, super half passes in both trot and passage, good walk tour, double pirouette with small lack of balance at the end, good 2 times, small issue transition between canter half passes, superb 2nd double pirouette, full power piaffe pirouette, tense when the audience start applauding for the final meters.

This horse is just 9 year old and doing his first national championship.

🥉

Jojo AZ / Agnete Kirk Thinggaard - error begin of 2 times, lack more clear canter for pirouette, good 1 times into pirouette, lack energy for pirouette, error end of 1 times, nice piaffe / passage, half pass trot right lack more clear balance and go, left better, good extension, super nice final. (bit ahead of music)

Individual top placements

Individual no 4 today was Lone Bang Larsen with Bakkely´s Onandt. Super strong performance with high degree of difficulty and power all the way, and today without any technical errors.

Bakkely´s Onandt / Lone Bang Larsen - good start, full piaffe turn lack bit balance at the end, strong extended trot tours, very regular passage, good walk tour, super 2 times on curved track, 1 times successful on curved track, lost balance bit out of double pirouette, nice sit for final pirouette into piaffe, nice piaffe fan at centerline.

Individual no 5 today and overall no 4 Anders Dahl and his young Fidelio. Lots of power for the first day in the Grand Prix. For the Grand Prix Special Fidelio looked a bit tired, and today the showed a solid test with good qualities.

Catch up on small comments about each combination from the championship at H2R Facebook.

Exciting which combinations the national coach will appoint for CHIO Aachen.

Super strong performance from Cathrine Dufour and Bohemian brought them back into the top of the field

IMG_4916.JPG

Dufour fighting back for the podium

Yesterday with Grand Prix Special where Cathrine Dufour and Bohemian showed a very strong performance. The big difference from the Grand Prix to the Grand Prix Special was the frame of Bohemian. During the Grand Prix he became very often behind the vertical and not really in front of Cathrine. This issue was just disappeared with the wind, as the Grand Prix Special form and total test was at an outstanding level. Lots of highlights, half passes with expression and super balance, super series, piaffe at the spot with super transitions and sharp regular supple passage tours and not least two top class pirouettes.

Daniel showing strong performances with both Zack and Don O. Together with Zack they were dancing through the days most heavy shower with just an issue for the 15 one times, and Zack will be Daniel´s partner for tomorrow’s freestyle as he is the most experienced for the freestyle. With Don O Daniel showed lots of power for trot / passage tour, some miscommunication into the first piaffe where Don O does not respond to the riders aides and lack activity for piaffe itself, super walk tour, super canter tour well managed, final long side with extension with small lack of beat.

Agnete and Jojo were missing the power from the Grand Prix for the Special, but still showing a solid performance and will for sure fight for their spot at the podium tomorrow.

Overall results in top of the competition from Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special:

Danish Warmblood candidates for World Championship for Young Horses in Ermelo (to be selected from H2R point of view)

Today was first observation of 5 year old, 6 year old and 7 year old horses for Ermelo

As a tradition the young horses for Ermelo are a part of the event during the Danish national championship, which also makes the environment much more like when they have to perform at Ermelo.

The procedure is that they all ride the preliminary test today and tomorrow they have to performe the finale test. 8 combination from 5 yr, 6 yr and 7 yr will be appointed for the final selection taking place 25 June at Vilhelmsborg.

Seen from the sideline today’s observation test actually is enough to see the qualities of each horse even though some of the showed some tensions or errors today, it does not really seem to be necessary to see them again tomorrow.

Obvious qualities

The 5 year old field was already strong at the paper, and they did not dissapoint.

VIDEO - Daniel Bachmann showing strong performance with Blue Hors Don Olymbrio the first day at Danish national championship

Screen+Shot+2019-06-07+at+22.49.21.jpg

In general good level for this years Danish championship

It was a really nice field of competitors today at Uggerhalne, but the differences in the mid of the field were actually more clear than the results were showing.

Top 3 for today’s Grand Prix

Blue Hors Don Olymbrio - small unbalance half, super diagonal, nice swing half passes uphill, halt with rein back superb, super diagonal, nice 1st piaffe and passage easy transitions, super walk tour, super 2nd piaffe/passage, super 2 times, nice extended canter, nice zigzag, error begin 1 times, super pirouettes, smooth transition to trot, lovely balanced diagonal, super final centerline.

Bohemian - superb halt, good diagonal, supple half passes, super halt with rein back, superb 1st piaffe tour, good walk, super solid canter tour with some moments with shorter neck, lost balance for 1st pirouette, super 2nd pirouette, nice final.

Jojo AZ - super halt, good diagonal, lacking carriage half pass left, good halt rein back, super nice 1st piaffe with transitions, good walk, superb 2nd piaffe with passage, good 2 times, good zigzag, nice 1 times, good control pirouettes, super final.

Even though Daniel and Don O did not produce an error free test they showed so much qualities all the way (enjoy the video below). It was not really a top day for Dufour with her young Bohemian as Dufour unfortunately did not manage to keep him out in the frame for the canter tour today. Agnete and Jojo produced an error free test with many highlights today. Zack and Daniel came 2nd today not showing same high qualities as Don O today.

Exciting combinations

Lone and Onandt showed a strong performance without any technical isses today which brought them into the 5th place.

British based Anders Dahl showed both his Olympic partner Selten HW and his new international partner Fidelio van het Bloemenhof. Fidelio is a horse with the entire package, trot, canter, walk, piaffe and passage, and natural supple in the body in a nice frame all the way, unfortunately a misunderstanding from collected walk to passage today with canter and also affecting the subsequent piaffe tour - very expensive and clearly kept them away from today’s podium.

Super job from Blue Hors rider Nanna Merrald with both Sådan Que and Wasabi OLD. Sådan Que were definitely missing some more points for the piaffe / passage tours.

Marianne with Lollipop with debut at national championships with some minor issues, but for sure some high quality moments.

2nd year at national championship for Sanne and Hannah Montana. Superb piaffe tours with smooth transitions and very nice extended walk, unfortunately not rewarded from the judges today.

Signe Kirk Kristiansen with Her Highness O showed a very nice test. Overall impression with a nice and easy picture, and Her Highness looks like a real friend in the arena.

Susanne and Sir James are new at the championships. Many errors due to clearly lack of routine, but a very positive impression, where Sir James all the way trying his best, and sometimes a bit mixed up, but all the way with the ears pricked and with positive attitude.

All combinations are ready for tomorrow Grand Prix Special, except Chadunno which has been withdrawn from the competition. Monday´s freestyle is for the 15 best combinations, and every rider is only allowed to rider one horse each.

Ludwig der Sonnenkönig and Victoria Vallentin in the lead after 1st day of Danish national U25 championship

Ludwig der Sonnenkönig and Victoria Vallentin - photo credit: Thomas Bisgaard

Ludwig der Sonnenkönig and Victoria Vallentin - photo credit: Thomas Bisgaard

Clear leader of the 1st part of Danish national championship U25 Intermediaire II today

Victoria and Ludwig showed an effortless nice test, nice balance and expression all the way, easy piaffe tours with nice transitions, good canter pirouettes but could show a bit more clear active canter for both pirouettes, good series.

Søren and Diego with a very nice test, nice frame all the way, light contact and good expression, lack a bit more balance and control for both canter pirouettes, the final transition to trot at C becomes through walk.

Josefine with Driver shows that less is more, as Driver looks concentrated with good power and expression all the way today. The only issue today was the extended walk where Driver was lacking bit more clear relaxation.
