Danish dominans for tonights CDI3 Grand Prix at Lillestrøm, Norway

It was international debut for Danish Olympic rider Anna Kasprzak with her new GP partner the 11 year old Fuhur by Fürstenreich. Overall very harmonious picture, where Fuhur look like a real partner in the arena, staying very attentive and focused all the way. No exercise wise weaknesses, and absolute highlights for the piaffe and passage tours. Huge ability to sit, keeping the activity with smooth transitions. Only big issue for today was at the end of the one times where Fuhur look as if 11 ones were enough and Anna did unfortunately not manage to finish that line.

Fuhur / Anna Kasprzak DEN - good halt, good balance for diagonal, active uphill half passes with nice flow, good halt tension for rein back, good diagonal, nice passage, easy transitions, active piaffe with huge sit, superb extended walk, super collected walk, small tension transition to passage, super 2nd passage/piaffe/passage tour lots of activity and expression, good into canter, straight 2 times, good extended canter, super timing for zigzag, error 1 times stops after 11 and does not finish, nice sit and activity for pirouettes, good diagonal, super easy and powerful final centerline.

Second placed was Danish Marianne Helgstrand with Lollipop. They showed a nice test with just an unfortunate issues at the final centerline where the collection maybe was a big to much as Lollipop obvious starts the final piaffe very early, but Marianne manage to bring him back to passage and do the piaffe at X. For Marianne it was a clearly improved test without errors for the series, as this part unfortunately has been an issue lately.

Lollipop / Marianne Helgstrand DEN - super halt and direct forward, power diagonal, becomes a bit hectic half pass right, super halt with bit tense rein back, good diagonal, nice into passage, good passage, good piaffe, nice transitions, good walk tour, nice into passage, good piaffe lack bit forward search, nice transition out, good into canter, nice 2 times, super expressive power extended canter, bit unbalanced zigzag, nice 1 times, good pirouettes well balanced, nice transition to trot, power diagonal, bit communication problems starting the piaffe very early but manage to keep on and do the piaffe at X.

Another Danish international debut combination was Dennis Fisker with Delatio. Dennis Fisker has been training Delatio and his owner Qabil Ambak towards the Olympic qualification, but unfortunately they did not manage to qualify, and therefore Dennis now got the possibility to compete Delatio at international level. Overall a good test, but Dennis was like Qabil struggling a bit showing the piaffe tours, but the experience from Dennis was also clearly reflected by the 2nd piaffe, where he prompt was asking 2nd time for the piaffe when Delatio seems to be a bit too laid back, and Dalatio was willingly responding.

Dalatio / Dennis Fisker DEN - good halt, well balanced diagonal, nice balance for half passes, good halt becomes bit deep in the frame for rein back, good diagonal nicely into passage, lack bit more clear flow into the piaffe, piaffe lack bit more energy, good out into passage, good walk tour, nice transition to passage, bit tensions hind, Dennis have to remind Delatio about the job for the 2nd piaffe, but well managed, good into canter, super nice 2 times, good extended canter, bit unbalanced zigzag, crop high first changes for 1 times, pirouettes lack bit more control, good diagonal, good passage, piaffe lack bit energy but best one.

Today the first dressage competitions has started at Holsten Halle in Neumünster with a CDI1 Prix St. Georg.

Helen Langehanenberg brought her successful small tour horse the 9 year old gelding Vayron by Vitalis / Gloster. The big gelding was shown in a lovely frame, well balanced and supple all the way, and he did not seems to take notice from the quite small arena, as he was fully focused all the way for today’s victory.

Denne afvikles hos Grindsted Rideklub i uge 38.

VIDEOS - Impressive stallion show from Verden

An evening with top stars and World Champions

After watching this spectacular presentation of one top stallion after the other, you were in doubt that the partnership between Helgstrand Dressage and Schockemöhle gave a clear picture of Helgstrand Dressage dominating the Dressage scene, while Schokemöhle dominating the Jumper scene.

Best dressage stallion from Schockemöhle and HP Horses, was Nürnberger Burg-Pokal winnerand World Championship bronze medalist Total Hope OLD with Isabel Freese in the saddle as their absolut juvel. Every time your watching Total Hope he is doing his job effortless, without tensions, fully focused and with high qualities - just a pleasure to watch.

The impact and qualities of both Danish Warmblood stallion Sezuan as a sire, and Oldenburger stallion Sir Donnerhall I as damsire in the breeding were really shown this night.

The best other younger stallions from Schockemöhle were:

  • Fürst Zonik PS (2017) by Fürstenball / Zonik, champion stallion from Mecklenburger licensing, nice well moving expressive stallion

  • Sezuan´s Donnerhall (2015) by Sezuan / Sir Donnerhall I, clearly a long legged still young looking stallion with good qualities.

  • Donier (2015) by De Niro / Totilas, not the most obvious stallion but look like a horse for the future top sport.

VIDEOS from H2R favourites: (Videos captured by Stefanie Löhmann)

3 year old - Rockabye by Revolution / Belstaff. An impressive young stallion showing three very good basic gaits without any weaknesses.

3 year old - Total Maclaren by Totilas / De Niro, latest purchase just arrived from the KWPN stallion licensing. Long legged super modern stallion which showed himself with top qualities at the licensing including a super well balanced presentation by lunging.

3 year old - My Vitality by Vivaldi / D-Day (full brother of Vitalis). Selected for Danish Warmblood licensing in March. Another top offspring by Vivaldi, and with his very short time under saddle he is showing superb balance and qualities in all three gaits.

8 year old - Total Hope OLD by Totilas / Don Schufro. This stallion always brings the positive effortless attitude and showing huge abilities with top qualities.

4 year old Fynch Hatton OLD by Formel Eins / Sir Donnerhall I, 2019 OLD saddle licensing Champion. Impressive big framed stallion type with lots of quality, power and top rideability.

7 year old Revolution by Rocky Lee / Rouletto. Two time World Championship medalist. Revolution was showing enormous basic gaits when he was 3 and 4 year old, and for the doubters those gaits are still very impressive, and at the same time the angle and balance for the very difficult exercises like passage and piaffe are just spot on.

3 year old So Perfect by Sezuan / Sir Donnerhall I. 2019 OLD reserve champion (video from stallion show Vechta 2/2-2020). Elegant, well moving and light footed Sezuan son.

3 year old Westfalian Champion Dynamic Dream by Glock´s Dream Boy / Sir Donnerhall I. Long legged very modern type, showing impressive qualities in both canter and walk and with good balance in the trot.

6 year old Jovian by Apache / Tango. World Champion for Young Horses 2019. Yet again Andreas Helgstrand was in the saddle to present Jovian, unfortunately his headset did not function short after he started. No panic as Helgstrand was just handed over the microphone, and likely riding with the phone he just placed it under the helmet and showed Jovian. Enjoy the video here below.

Finals at the stallion competitions during KWPN stallion show

Results decided before the finals

Stallion competition finals at Den Bosch are mostly like presentations classes, or should turn into a pure presentation class, as the results obviously are decided before going into the finals.

H2R favourites by this years 5 year old were Glock´s King Karim by Glock´s Toto Jr / Painted Black presented by Hans Peter Minderhoud and Kjento by Negro / Jazz presented by Charlotte Fry.

During the preliminary rounds this year Glock´s King Karim has shown some various performances, while Kjento has been on a steady strong line all the way. For the finals Kjento and Lottie Fry stood out, while Minderhoud was struggling a bit with the fully focus and balance from King Karim. No doubt the winner was Kjento, unfortunately not on the scoreboard.

6 Premium stallions and no Champion named at KWPN in 2020

New concept for the KWPN licensing in 2020

Before this years licensing the lunging part was added as an extra day to the pre-selection at 21 January, but without consequences for the already selected stallions for the licensing, only as a part of the consideration when making further selection at the licensing. With this years experience going into the licensing, the lunging must for sure be part of the 2021 edition of the KWPN Stallion Show, as it is a very valuable tool in order to evaluate the balance, self carriage, elasticity and contact.

The “CHAMPION” was missing

6 Premium stallions were named, but the traditional excitement for the ranking at the final presentation was missing - no Champion named. Out of the 6 new Premium stallions, H2R picked 4 of them (already after the lunging) as they were showing obvious qualities.
