22 combinations ready for CDI1 Prix Sct. Georg this morning at Hagen

The second part of today’s competition with the strongest combinations. Both the winner Mara De Vries with Habibi Dvb and Ann-Kathrin Lindner with Lord of Dance showed strong performances, with super balance and expression for their trot work, good walk and minor issues for the canter tour.

Danish combination Lone Bang Larsen with her 10 year old mare Thranegaardens Rostov also showed a strong test without any major issues. At the beginning a bit of tensions hind was shown, but as the program progressed Rostov looked more relaxed but still showing super nice power. Unfortunately judge at M saw them at 9th place while H and C were on 4th place.

🇩🇰 Thranegaardens Rostov / Lone Bang Larsen - good halt, good power for diagonal, bit unbalanced steps hind for the short side, nice flow and suppleness for shoulder in, volte and half passes, good transition to walk, good collected walk, nice walk pirouettes could be a bit more centred, nice over track and relaxation for extended walk tour, good canter half passes, super nice 1st pirouette with good collection, good change, 2nd pirouette also with good quality, big over the entire diagonal series, good final halt. 70,000%

FEI PRESS RELEASE

FEI and ClipMyHorse.TV join forces on equestrian live streaming

The FEI and ClipMyHorse.TV (CMH.TV) have entered into an agreement that is set to change the future landscape of the global governing body’s live streaming services to millions of equestrian fans worldwide. CMH.TV is one of the world’s leading providers of live streams for equestrian sports.

“We are very excited with this new venture which is the result of open and productive conversations with the founder of ClipMyHorse.TV Mr Klaus Plönzke,” FEI President Ingmar De Vos said.

“This is the first time the FEI will have an equity stake in a company which will allow us to actively contribute to shaping the narrative around the coverage of equestrian events.

“By bringing together our collective strengths, we can work towards the development of one combined live streaming service that provides high quality event coverage and a broader range of content to fans.”

FEI.TV has traditionally live-streamed all major FEI Series and Championships, with an extensive range of replays, special features and historic events coverage available live and on-demand. Subscribers can now view coverage of international, national and local equestrian events, with commentary provided in English as well as local languages. They will also have access to the largest archive of equestrian video content and an extensive database of information on athletes and horses.

“ClipMyHorse.TV’s comprehensive platform and their extensive experience with production and streaming services within this sector will allow for an improved viewing experience for FEI.TV customers, while the look and feel of FEI.TV will, at least for the moment, stay the same,” FEI Commercial Director Ralph Straus said.

“The depth of the combined offering is unique and will provide equestrian fans access to a wide range of events all under one roof, from top international events to local competitions, together with online equestrian magazines, documentaries and other relevant programming.”

Currently the FEI.TV online television platform is providing coverage of past events and special equestrian features free of charge to everyone while live sport is on hold.

“The market for OTT and streaming services has grown substantially and we have seen an exponential rise in online viewing,” CEO of CMH.TV Markus Detering explained.

“We created the CMH.TV platform in 2007 with the express aim of making horse sport events across the world accessible to fans and followers everywhere and at any time.

“By pooling our resources with the FEI, we will be able to offer equestrian fans a more in-depth and enriching experience that will make the sport even more attractive and to a wider global audience.”

Sport and breeding makes it possible when doing the combination of top foal producer Franklin with the full sister of Sezuan. Said that the pedigree does not make it itself, but by this filly you definitely get what you been dreaming of as a breeder.

Louisdor Preis finals for Greek Air with Emma Kanerva and First Romance with Dorothee Schneider

Louisdor.jpg

Hubertus Schmidt & Denoix PCH won today’s Louisdor qualifier, but as they already qualified at Hagen today’s no 2 and 3 are ready for the final.

No doubt Emma Kanerva with Greek Air were ready for the final with a very smooth performance, but from H2R point of view Fano and Jasmin Schaudt were for sure not scored as they deserved today. They ended up as no 5.

1 - VIDEO Denoix / Hubertus Schmidt - easy obedient test, smooth trot tour with expressive passage good transitions and active piaffe tours, bit tense extended walk tour need more let go, super well balanced canter tour.

Nr. 2 - Greek Air / Emma Kanerva - super smooth effortless test with this 9 year old gelding. No technical issues, nice flow forward with positive attitude all the way.

Nr. 3 - First Romance / Dorothee Schneider - good trot tour, passage lacking more clear elevation, good piaffe trend, good walk tour, some tensions for the canter tour with error for 2 times, 2nd pirouette with best balance.

Today’s final was not surprisingly with the 8 year old stallion Villeneuve and Dorothee Schneider at top of the podium, as they already at yesterday's “warm-up” test showed great qualities and won. Dorothee Schneider shows an effortless test with the big impressive stallion, and manage all the time to keep a well balanced and easy picture.

Villeneuve / Dorothee Schneider - bit unbalanced into halt, good power diagonal, smooth half passes, power diagonal, nice transition into walk, marching extended walk, super collected walk with nice pirouettes, well balanced canter pirouettes, change after 1st by himself, good canter half passes, good series lacking a bit more uphill expression, bit tense rein back, good final halt.

2nd today was the Vivaldi son Vainqueur with Hubertus Schmidt, well managed all the way but the big stallion is clearly lacking some more strength.

Today judge Christoph Hess was subsequently commenting each ride for the audience, and as usual with super details and often with development from former performances.

DRESSAGE

FEI eDressage™ online assessment platform goes live

The FEI has launched the FEI eDressage™ Online platform in partnership with Black Horse One (BHO) and SAP, to provide a unique environment for FEI registered Dressage and Para Dressage Athletes to boost their training and development. FEI registered Athletes can upload videos of their FEI Dressage test to the FEI eDressage™ Online platform every week, for it to then be anonymously judged by a pool of FEI 5* level Dressage and Para Dressage Judges.

In the first phase, a number of videos will be randomly selected and Athletes will then be provided with feedback on their performance and given pointers for improvement. This platform provides Athletes with the opportunity to have their tests remotely evaluated by a group of top-level judges and to receive key insights that could benefit their performances. In the long run, it also has the potential to become a valuable source of content for training FEI Officials in close collaboration with the FEI’s online e-learning platform, FEI Campus.

Promotion of Dressage 5* Judges from 1 January 2021

Four FEI 4* Dressage Judges - Peter Storr (GBR), Kurt Christensen (DEN), Lars Andersson (SWE) and Ulrike Nivelle (GER) - have been promoted to 5* status, the highest rank, by the FEI Dressage Technical Committee. The promotion, which will come into effect on 1 January 2021, will allow these Judges to officiate at major FEI Dressage events in the future, such as FEI Dressage World Cup™ Finals, FEI Championships at Grand Prix level, FEI World Championships and Olympic Games.

This promotion will bring the number of FEI 5* Dressage judges to 41.

The FEI would like to congratulate the promoted Judges and wish them much success in their continued judging career.

ORGANISERS

Return to Play: FEI Policy for Enhanced Competition Safety during the Covid-19 Pandemic

As you may know, the FEI Policy for Enhanced Competition Safety during the Covid-19 Pandemic came into effect on 1 July 2020 in a bid to harmonise the return of international competitions during the Covid-19 pandemic, and contribute to the efforts that are made all around the world to minimize or reduce the spread of the disease.

The Policy requires that all Organisers (OCs) of FEI Events across the world use the same tool in order to evaluate the risk posed by their Event in terms of Covid-19 transmission and provides guidance for social distancing and hygiene measures in the context of FEI equestrian sport. It is not intended to replace the applicable guidance and policies from domestic government and health authorities, but to supplement their recommendations with sport specific considerations. The Policy includes:

  • A framework outlining objectives, roles and responsibilities.

  • A decision-making system for sports federations/sports event organisers when planning events during the Covid-19 pandemic. This system, which was developed by the WHO, is composed of a risk assessment tool (new FEI version published today), a decision making tree, and an accompanying document outlining relevant considerations.

  • Best practices for FEI Event Organisers.

Under this Policy, conducting and documenting the risk assessment – together with the National Federation – is mandatory for FEI Event Organisers.

A Covid-19 Communication Plan Checklist for Organising Committees as well as detailed FAQs and the Risk Assessment tools are regularly reviewed and all available on the Return to Play hub. Please visit these pages regularly for updates and do not hesitate to contact Catherine.bollon@fei.org for further assistance.

Young stallion sets top price

Corona-induced alternative sales channels can increase the previous year's result

Verden. For the fourth time this year, it meant "The Bid-Up is on" for the youngest Hanoverians. For an average price of 8,514 Euros the 18 dressage offers found buyers from six countries.

The solid price structure provided four hammer prices above 10,000 Euros. At the top of the statistics is head number 81, the first foal in the collection: Force Majeure by Franco Nero/San Amour I found a new owner in the USA for 23,500 Euros. Thus Franco Nero, a Franziskus son from the Verden Stallion Market, delivered the top price in his first foal year at a Verden auction. The breeder of Force Majeure, Stephan Herrmann from Northeim, is not only the breeder of the stallion Franco Nero, but has also already delivered the most expensive auction foal in Verden to date in 2017 with the dam of this foal, the state premium mare A Speciality for You.

Superb test from Fiontini and Andreas Helgstrand in today’s Grand Prix Special

Adjustments.jpeg

Super solid quality test from Helgstrand with Fiontini in their first Grand Prix Special.

No technical issues, nice supple trot tour, easy in and out of passage tours, good piaffe, the walk tour is just extraordinary, super canter tour, smooth series and well balanced canter pirouettes. Looked a tiny bit out of petrol for the final.

“I’m very satisfied about our debut, can’t wait for our next competition together. Still dreaming about the Olympics”, says Andreas Helgstrand.

Andreas Helgstrand and Fiontini with super national Grand Prix debut together today

IMG-5824.jpg

Another win today for Andreas Helgstrand, this time with triple World Champion for Young Horses Fiontini. Andreas recently took over the ride of both Fiontini and also the stallion D´avie, both educated and former ridden by Severo Jurado Lopez, which recently started up his own business.

First horse Andreas rode was D´avie. The just 8 year old stallion look like a super partner in the arena, really fighting together with his rider, even though the entire test of course still need more routine and strength. They delivered a technical strong test. The super supple 10 year old Danish Warmblood mare Fiontini dances though her test, with just a tiny unbalanced moment at the end of the 2nd pirouette and maybe a bit to enthusiastic Helgstrand for the final diagonal as she jumps into canter. This mare just brings the entire package, walk, trot, canter, piaffe and passage including suppleness and expression.

Agnete Kirk Thinggaard came 2nd and 3rd with her two horses Blue Hors Zatchmo and Atterupgaards Orthilia, both with a few technical issues, where the overall picture lacking a bit more light and balanced contact for both horses today. Lovely to see the top mare Orthilia back in the arena after an injury break.
