Solid prices for high quality foal at Nordic International Sales

The Nordic International Sales foal auction was successfully conducted Saturday night in a cooperation between Helgstrand Dressage and Danish Warmblood, and clearly stated that the current Corona situation is no hindrance for high quality foals to achieve top prices

Five foals were sold for more than 30,000 EUR and nothing less than three foals changed hands for 50,000 EUR or more. The collection was comprised of 15 quality foals out of which 13 sold for an average price of 25,000 DKK.
The beautiful black filly Gørklintgårds Blackberry by Franklin/ Gørklintgårds Santos, from the renowned breeder Jørgen Ravn, became the auction’s price highlight with a knock-down price of 56,000 EUR, but she was not on her own at this high level. The handsome colt Gammelenggårds Galiano by Grand Galaxy Win/ Blue Hors Don Romantic became the most expensive colt foal and changed ownership for 54,000 EUR. The bay colt was presented by top breeders Stald Heiline in a cooperation with Nanna Jønsson.

Bids were placed from clients in Austria, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK via telephone and internet. A Canadian buyer acquired the supple-moving chestnut colt Jasper by Janeiro Platinum/ Dancier from the breeders Lena and Ulrik Kristensen for the price of 50.000 EUR.
Local buyers from Northern Jutland, both return customers, secured some of the most sought-after filly foals; Tjørnegårdens Tennessee by Janeiro Platinum/ Blue Hors Hotline from Christina Reslow and Flying Tabata Pilekær by Jameson RS2/ Ferro from Lars Langendorff and Anne Mette Rossen, sold for 44,000 and 31,000 EUR respectively.

Head of the Danish Warmblood auction committee, Ulrik Kristensen, is delighted with the outcome of the auction and describes it as a major success. He underlines that the organizers owe the success to the breeders who have had the courage the retain their top foals for this auction.
– Earlier this year, the Corona situation held out prospects of a challenging season, but nonetheless it has been possible to sell foals for top prices on a totally different market. It has required innovation and adaption including a new set-up with online bidding – a set-up that will be a part of our future auctions. We have great expectations to our next auctions – also in 2021, Ulrik Kristensen concludes.
Danish Warmblood presents two regional foal auctions on 12 and 19 September, and the last foal auction this year will be the DWB World Cup Auction held at the World Cup qualifier at Vilhelmsborg on 16 and 17 October.

“Boblerne” i gårsdagens Grand Prix med mange flotte momenter
Ekvipagerne lige under top 3 viste generelt flotte ture med få tekniske fejl.
Feltets yngste hest den blot 8-årige Vamos Amigos med feltets mest erfarne unge internationale rytter Cathrine Dufour slutter på 4. pladsen. Cathrine var også til start i Grand Prix med Bohemian da han var 8 år og på mange måder jo meget tidligt på det sværeste niveau, men når det er sagt er 8 år i Grand Prix under en så erfaren pilot som Dufour bare et skridt på vejen. Når man følger ekvipagens tur i går har man fornemmelsen af at tingene bare gradvist bliver stykket sammen på en ukompliceret måde og hele vejen under hensyntagen til hvad der er fysisk opnåeligt fra og med en blot 8 års hest. Der er så meget potentiale og så meget go - en fornøjelse at opleve. Få et lille indtryk på klippet her.
Charlotte Heering havde også to heste med på førstedagen. Bufranco tilbage i super form og viser sine flotte piaffe og passage ture sammen med gode serier og pirouetter, mens Badinda Altena også viser flotte takter, og hvor Charlotte får lov at kontrollere power hoppen hele turen med udtagelse af en spændingsfejl i 2’er serien.
Michael Søgaard er klar med sin næste Grand Prix hest Slæbækgårds Santino. Kvalitet hele vejen i alle 3 gangarter og ingen svagheder. Der indløber lidt ærgerlig rutinefejl i etterne.
Rigtig mange spændende ekvipager til eftermiddagens kür finale.

17 årige Atterupgaards Cassidy kan sit kram sammen med Cathrine Dufour. Højdepunkterne var tydelige, flotte piaffe ture, super skridt, flotte serier, velbalancerede pirouetter, og super parader, og harmonien er jo bare i en klasse for sig. 80%
Cassøe Krüth og Danciera med smidighed og udtryk.
Heilines Danciera og Carina Cassøe Krüth bliver ved med at overraske. Den unge hoppe har tydeligt brugt coronapausen sammen med Carina på at forfine tingene endnu mere. Fantastisk at følge en så gennemarbejdet hest med så høj grundkvalitet i alle gangarter og øvelser. Dagens ridt med velfortjente 78% med plads til små forbedringer siger jo også det hele. En yndefuld og samtidig knivskarp ekvipage. Lidt spændinger i første piaffe og en fri skridt som godt kunne have været mere energisk, serierne er heller ikke 100% afspændte. Parret er klar med ny kür til søndagens finale. 78,04%
Helgstrand og Fiontini med masser gummi og power.
Andreas Helgstrand og Fiontini byder ind med præcist det man havde håbet - de vil og kan være med helt fremme. Det nye partnerskab ser ud til at kunne blive et vigtigt kort frem mod Tokyo 2021. Den succesfulde hoppe går med så meget gummi og power, og Andreas får vist travøgninger til 10, super skridt, velbalanceret zigzag galop og flotte pirouetter. Serierne er gode men begge skal dække diagonalen bedre, ligesom skridten kan vises med mere aktivitet, trav traversaderne mangler mere bæring. 74,620%
(VIDEO) Severo Jurado Lopez Masterclass - "The connection"
Wednesday evening at the beautiful Kirstineholm at the outskirts of Aarhus international top rider Severo Jurado Lopez held a Masterclass.
Due to the current corona restrictions it was of course with limitation of spectators.
It was a super nice and familiar atmosphere with a very motivated and as always smiling Severo welcoming the audience. Severo started to tell that he was really happy about his decision now with his own business in Denmark together with his long time partner Annika Daurau, as they both feels loved and appreciated in Denmark.
The passion
“Why are we doing what we are doing? Every day, 7 days a week, using a lot of money and often with a lot of downs with the horses.”
The overall theme for the evening was “the connection” - the connection when your riding your horse, the feeling from the saddle but also the mental connection, in the way of being able to control and know the reactions from your horse ex when you enter the show ground.
The horses
For the masterclass Severo has brought two horses himself and one horse was ridden by Nana Christiansen from Sandkildehus Dressage.
Severo was riding the 7 year old gelding Møgelvang Ferrari by Sezuan / Come Back II, breeder Jan Jensen, former ridden and educated by Pernille Elten Sigsgaard and owned by Nordentoft. Super talented and well balanced horse, where Severo was telling about the way he appreciates the reactions from Ferrari, and a horse with the right attitude for work, with power and big potential which Severo of course was really excited about for the future. From the small session Møgelvang Ferrari and Severo Jurado Lopez could be a very interesting card for WCYH in Verden this year.
2nd horse under Severo was the 10 year old KWPN gelding Fendi T by Negro / Lester, owned by Van Olst Horses. Severo was telling this was really “his” horse, and was really grateful being able to have a talented horse like Fendi at the stables. His first big successes were created at the time he was employed at Van Olst Horses in the Netherlands, and from where he now has three talented horses in training.
Young Nana Christiansen from Sandkildehus Dressage was showing the just 3 year old Danish Warmblood premium stallion Stenagers Ben Hur DWB by Borsalino / Florenciano, bred by Bjarne og May-Britt Christensen, and owned by Stutteri Teglovnen. The young stallion has during the breeding season been stationed at Katrinelund, and recently back under the saddle with Nana Christiansen. Super good looking young boy with three really nice basic gaits. Here Severo was telling about the importance of learning the horse to respond to the signals from the rider to build up the important connection for the future education.
The training
The overall theme for Severo´s training philosophy is THE CONNECTION. Never leave the connection from the riders hand, through the seat and the legs to the bid when your riding your horses. The way you educate your horse is through reactions, in other words your horse MUST respond to your aides to be able to learn, tells Severo.
When Severo was starting up Fendi T he was telling about his goal to make Fendi more confident and believe in himself. No doubt about the top qualities, and it was clear that Severo wanted Fendi T to show off himself.
Self carriage and collection
Self carriage is when your riding a Grand Prix test and being able to let the hand just go forward in the most demanding exercises, and the horse keep carrying himself. Self carriage has nothing to do with collection - you can easily ask for self carriage without asking for collection, says Severo.
The future dressage horse
Severo had more bullet points during the Masterclass evening, but one of the clear bullet points were for the breeders: “You must bred dressage horses, not just foals for auctions, and we need healthy horses with top temperament.”

Attractive big-framed, harmonic, and well-aligned colt that moves with excellent elasticity and power in all three paces. His dam HP Tiramisu is competing successfully at medium-level. His grand dam Tiara, is an elite state premium mare who ranked 4th in the Brilliant Ring of the Oldenburger Mare Grading. Tiara comes from a renowned dam line based on thoroughbred, which has produced numerous highly graded stallions and mares as well at top competition horses and Elite Auction horses.

Big-framed, elegant, well-proportioned, and very harmonic colt that will just take your breath away! Add to this his tree absolutely outstanding paces, and you have a winning cocktail - which also let to him being named Colt of the Day at the regional foal show. He is out of the hugely successful F2-dame line, which amongst others has produced the international dressage star Mistral Højris, as well as a lot of very successful dressage horses, several graded stallions, and many mares awarded with breeder medals. His dam, the bronze medal mare Vicanta, produced the filly Vera which sold very well at a previous auction to Stud Teglovnen. His grand dam, the elite bronze medal mare Valenta, produced Colt of the Year in DWB Dancing Boy, who later became successful in the young horse championships before he was sold to the USA. Leggy, uphill, and feminine filly with large frames. Her movement is ground covering and agile, and she exhibits good knee and hock action. She is out of well-bred dressage blood. She is sister to Hedelunds Anakin, who was awarded a 10 for rideability and 9,5 for capacity by test rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen for this year's Young Horse Dressage Championship in Herning. Her 3rd dam is an elite mare, which has, among others, produced the advanced level showjumper Juvel. Her 3rd dam has furthermore produced the medium level dressage horse Mister Aarup and Hedelunds High Attention, who was selected for the stallion grading in Herning. Her 4th dam is a bronze medal mare.

Elegant, noble, and incredibly beautiful! Not only does the filly look amazing, she also moves with abundant agility, smoothness, and power. One does not need much imagination to see her unfolding in her right element in the future dressage arenas. The dam Kronborgs Guyana is out of the Silver medal mare and young horse championship finalist Geisha. Corona restriktioner rammer også årets DM stævne den kommende weekend til Equitour i Uggerhalne
Det betyder desværre at alle dem som normalt tager til DM ikke har mulighed for det i år. Arrangørerne har alene mulighed for at udbyde 300 billetter til hhv. lørdag og søndag (søndag udsolgt). Men husk du kan følge med via livestreaming på Zibrasport enten hvis du allerede er Premium medlem eller til pay per view til kr. 129,-.
Deltagerlisten til årets DM for seniorer er klar, hvor 20 ekvipager er klar til at kæmpe om medaljerne.
DM 2020 bliver med to afdelinger - lørdag eftermiddag med 1. afdeling i Grand Prix og søndag eftermiddag med Grand Prix kür, mens “trøstfinalen” i år afvikles i Grand Prix Special søndag middag.
De 15 bedste ekvipager fra Grand Prix går direkte videre til küren, mens resten rider Grand Prix Special.

Due to the corona situation this years Nordic International Sales will also be an online auction, where the possibility for pre-bidding starts Thursday September 3, 2020 at 5:00 pm, and the auction takes place September 5th at 8.30 pm LIVE at Clipmyhorse.

Really exciting and appealing colt with lots of scope and near-perfect knee and hock action. He presents himself with lots of self-confidence and just radiates harmony. He possesses a lovely correct angle of his shoulder. The engine from behind is efficient and strong. This colt's dam line has no less than four Silver medal mares in line. His dam Mazai Pilekær had the highest mare testing result of the year.
Fay
Very attractive and feminine filly out of the successful dam line of the thoroughbred mare Red Rose XX, who is grand dam to this filly. Red Rose has, throughout generations, been a strong producer of noble and elegant offsprings, clearly marked by the positive attributes of the thoroughbred breeding. This confident filly presents herself with three extremely good and well-balanced paces with great mechanics for the future sport. The dame line has produced the graded stallions Cassidy, Orion and the newly approved Olympus as well as several mares awarded with breeder medal.

Donaueschingen leg for Nürnberger Burg-Pokal final today
Today’s field for the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal qualfikation was not the strongest competition but well deserved victory for young Jana Schrödter with her lovely Fürstenball mare Frau Holle.
Again this weekend Matthias Rath was at start with two young mares. Unfortunately non of the mares were really ready for the tasks. The mare True Love OLD by Totilas / Florencio looks like a super nice mare just needing some practice a home soil before entering the competition arena.
Frau Holle / Jana Schrödter - power diagonal, expressive uphill half passes, good relaxation for extended walk tour, nice collected walk with nice walk pirouettes, good transition to canter, nice collection into pirouettes, parallel hind change after 2nd, nice half passes, good series need bit more airtime, good halt with rein back, nice halt.

Medal winners set price peaks in Vechta

Oldenburg friends from all over the world secured their future stars in the 19th Elite Foal Auction with first-class pedigrees. In the dressage foal collection, the legendary Donnerhall line impressed with a strong moving Damon Hill son. The jumping foals shone with offspring by Cornet Obolensky, who set the top prices with his son and granddaughter.
The price peak with 41,000 Euros was Don Royal by Damon Hill - Rubin-Royal - Figaro, bred and exhibited by Vivien Rudolph from Kirchgellersen/Lower Saxony. The strong moving stallion prospect will stay with a dressage lover in Germany in the future.
The second price peak with 27,000 Euros was Zypriana by Zackerey - Florencio I - Lord Liberty G, bred and exhibited by Frank Grote from Neuenkirchen/Lower Saxony. From the Rulli-Rudilore dam line: the Grand Prix winners Horizon/Adrienne Lyle, USA, Glock’s Romanov/Hans Peter Minderhoud, NED, Rubin Royal OLD/Hendrik Lochthowe. The elegant movement artist stays with a good Oldenburg friend in Germany.
