Busy and successful Blue Hors Rider Nanna Merrald at CDI in Le Mans

Same rider wins at international event with three different horses the same day - when was the last time that happened?

Mostly the national anthem at international events is the German, but today Nanna Merrald secured 3 x international victory for Denmark and of course we all enjoyed the Danish national anthem. 🇩🇰

Today Danish Nanna Merrald was on top in Intermediaire B with Danish Warmblood gelding Gørklintgårds Quater Boy, Prix St. Georg victory with Hannoveraner stallion Blue Hors Farrell and last but not least winner of CDI3 Grand Prix with KWPN stallion Blue Hors Zack. Nanna also rode Blue Hors St. Schufro in the Grand Prix, but unfortunately with to many mistakes, but the overall picture was really great with lots of qualities and potential.

And from rider Nanna Merrald “All in all an awesome day of course my debut victory with Blue Hors Zack as the absolute highlight, I’m really satisfied about our debut together. I’m a bit disappointed about my performance together with St. Schufro, we just have to practice more", Nanna said before the bed is calling before another demanding day tomorrow.

Blue Hors St. Schufro - Good entering halt direct forward, expressive balanced diagonal, lovely frame/contact, smooth supple half pass right, good transition good reach and crossing left, good halt bit cautious rein back, power diagonal, good passage with nice elevation, tiny forward trend for piaffe in good rhythm, lack bit more power up into clear passage again, good relaxation for extended walk with good quality, good collected walk, could be a bit sharper into passage, super nice sit for piaffe bit forward, good into canter, error end of 2 times with extra 1 times, good extended canter, small error zigzag, ok 1 times, huge sit for 1st pirouette, lost balance, unfortunately lost balance again out of 2nd pirouette, good diagonal, nice passage, final piaffe better at the spot. 67,457%

Blue Hors Farrell - showed a strong test without any technical issues. At the beginning it looked as if Nanna needed to do a bit of extra support along the trot tour to make Farrell confident in the arena, but super well managed from routined Nanna all the way, becomes a bit unbalanced for the voltes, good collected walk tour with nice walk pirouettes, the extended walk lack bit more let go but Farrell seems a bit impressed about the surroundings, super strong canter tour with very nice half pirouettes and good series. 72,794% well deserved in the lead.

Nanna and Quater Boy 70,540%. Nanna tells she had a nice ride, with a bit careful piaffe tours and an error for the 1 times, but overall a nice fluent test (no live stream).

3 føl solgt på auktioner i 2020

Stutteri Worre er et navn man ofte støder på, da stutteriet ofte er repræsenteret til følskuer, følauktioner, hoppekåringer og hingstekåringen i Dansk Varmblod.

Avler parret June og Mogens Worre har gennem tre årtier været aktive DV avlere, hvor Mogens Worre i starten af 90´erne bl.a. også var formand for Dansk Varmblodsavlsledelse. Sidste år gik Mogens Worre på pension, og avlerparret flyttede derfor ud på deres hesteejendom Himlingøje lidt syd for Køge, hvor de nu nyder deres dagligdag med hestene.

“Selvom 2020 har været en udfordring, så har vi alligevel både været til følskue og samtidig også fået solgt føl via auktioner. I 2020 blev vores hoppeføl Worres Nichoel, årets bedste dressur hoppeføl i reg 2. Hun er e. Franklin/Valløs Nikita mf. Aquilino, og samtidig udløste det en billet til eliteskuet i 2020, som jo var aflyst. I 2018 havde vi en helsøster som blev solgt på DV/World Cup auktionen som dyreste føl til Helgstrand Dressage,” fortæller Mogens Worre.

Årgang 2021

“Af 6 hopper som vi venter føl efter i 2021 er de 3 stamhopper. De 3 andre er 4. års hopper der kun skal have et føl, for derefter at gå i sporten.” 

“Det er klart at de stærke hoppestammer, hvor vi gennem flere generationer kender styrker og svagheder, giver os nogle muligheder for at “afprøve” de unge hingste og dermed se lidt mere sikkert hvad den enkelte hingst bidrager med, end hvis vi vælger at bruge de helt unge hingste på lidt mindre konsoliderede hoppestammer”, vurdere Mogens Worre.

Danciero / Valløs Miss Doolittle e. Dr. Doolittle. Sølvmedalje hoppe, har givet flere flere gode afkom. I 2020 fik Valløs Miss Doolittle føl e. Franklin, som er solgt via Schockemöhle/Helgstrand auktion til Rusland. Føllet vi venter her er nok det i flokken vi glæder os mest til.

Floriscount /Valløs Naya e. Baccarat xx. Ædel sølvmedalje hoppe. Her håber vi på et hoppeføl, som gerne skulle være med til at videreføre avlen hos os.

Vitalis / Valløs Filippa e. Blue Hors Don Olymbrio/Baccarat xx.  Hoppen er hingstemoder, og har giver flere gode afkom efter bl.a. Dream Boy og Franziskus.   

De unge hopper med deres første årgang

Dream Boy/ Worres Miss Diamond e. Blue Hors St. Schufro. Det er hoppens første føl.

Glamourdale / Worres Nairobi e. Franklin. Det er hoppens første føl, helsøster til Worre Nairobi fik føl efter Glamourdale i 2020. Føllet er solgt til Blue Hors på DV auktion.

Total Hope / Worres Frisky e. Franziskus. Hoppens første føl. Helsøster til Worre Frisky fik føl efter Total Hope i 2020. Føllet er solgt via Schockemöhle/Helgstrand auktion til Sverige.  

Overvejelserne for næste årgang      

Hingste vi overvejer at bruge i 2021, udover de hingste vi har brugt i 2020:

“Hingsten Franklin har vi haft god succes med at bruge og vi har fået nogle dejlige afkom efter ham. Vi syntes han avler godt - giver smidighed, aktion og et godt temperament. 

So Unique er også i vores strategiplan for 2021. En dejlig velgående hingst med en stærk moderstamme, som vi vurderer vil passe godt til vores højstillede hopper.

Hingstene Blue Hors Kingston, Blue Hors Monte Carlo, Kjento og My Vitality er også spændende hingste, som vi glæder os til at se afkom efter,” slutter Mogens Worre.

One of the most attractive stallions from KWPN licensing last year was the super well moving Mowgli V.O.D. Unfortunately he will not available via EU-station in 2021.

Both Danish bred Blue Hors Santiano by Sezuan / Romanov and Blue Hors Monte Carlo TC did their performance tests in Ermelo. You can watch Santiano right after Mowgli here below.

The clear “Champion stallion” from H2R point of view was nr. 426 by Geniaal / Hotline. He was one of three stallions from the lunging part which stood out - a real stallion type showing power and balance with sharp hindlegs with power from first step.

The two other top stallions from the lunging were 417 by Franklin / Zack (not approved) and 507 by Jerveaux / Dream Boy (approved).

NEWS AT HELGSTRAND DRESSAGE 3 FEB 2021

We had indeed looked forward to inviting you all to the stallion shows here in Denmark and abroad during the spring, to really get the new breeding season going, but unfortunately, the situation does not look all too bright. Instead, we have decorated the indoor arena, just as we do when hosting the stallions shows and is preparing to film the whole collection of stallions 2021, so that you will get the chance to experience both the new stallions, but also get an update on the older stallions, who have had a fantastic development.

You can look forward to experiencing the stallion collection 2021 already Friday the 19th of February at 14:00, where our website will be updated with the new presentation videos of the stallions.

However, we are still working on hosting our live stallion shows during the spring, both at Helgstrand Germany in Syke and in Denmark. However, due to the corona pandemic, the situation is still uncertain. We know how much the live presentation of the stallions means to the breeders, and therefore we will do everything to complete our stallion shows if the situation allows it.

Last year’s presentations videos of the stallions were very popular, and we therefore knew that we should repeat the success, which we announced at the end of 2020. The thousands of views around the world has led many new breeders to Helgstrand and has also functioned as an important tool for our loyal breeders. We have experienced that many breeders find the comments from Andreas, about which mares that is suitable for each stallion, very useful. Therefore, you can not only look forward to this year’s stallion collection but also hear the good advice Andreas shares.

This year we have again added several Champion and Premium stallions to the collection, like Forever Love by Fair Game/Destano, who was selected as Premium Stallion at the Westfalen Licensing, and the Oldenburg Premium Stallion Fortunate by Foundation/Quaterback, who is an ultra-modern stallion and can, with his movements and type, bring the breeding a step further. Very importantly we must not forget the 4 Premium Stallions from Hannover; Zoom In by Zoom/Waterland, Salissimo by Secret/Bellisimo M, Bonjour by Bon Coeur/Fürst Nymphenburg and Be Sure by Benicio/Scuderia.

Unfortunately, there is not a long list of results from 2020, but luckily our stallions participated at the prestigious German Bundeschampionate, where Fynch Hatton (Formel Eins/Sir Donnerhall I), Global Player (Kastel's Grand Galaxy Win/Don Schufro) and Rockabye S (Revolution/Belstaff) achieved amazing results. Even though many shows where cancelled, we are still very proud that our stallions qualified to both danish and foreign Championships and also to the recognized Young Horse World Championship. These breeding stallions have really developed, and we look forward to show Revolution (Rockey Lee/Rouletto), Jovian (Apache/Tango), Springbank II VH (Skovens Rafael/De Niro), Franklin (Ampére/Ferro), just like we look forward to show the upcoming stars such as So Perfect (Sezuan/Sir Donnerhall I), My Vitality (Vivaldi/D-Day), Iron (Asgard’s Ibiza/Hohenstein) and the newly arrived Hesselhøj Downtown (Hesselhøj Donkey Boy/Zack).

DSP top price stallion sold for 630.000 euro will be available via Böckmann Pferde

Drama by DSP online auction as the server crashed after just finishing one deal

Very unfortunate as the DSP auction stopped Thursday evening when huge activity caused that the server suddenly went down and the auction stopped. Therefore the auction was resumed Saturday with unchanged bidding and full activity again from the buyers.

Until today the future for the DSP champion stallion by Benicio / Don Diamond has been unknown. DSP writes today at Facebook that Best Future will be available via Böckmann Pferde and will be educated by Dressurstall Schöffner in Löningen, but the new ownership is still unknown.

2nd most expensive was the super well moving stallion by Asgard´s Ibiza / Sunny-Boy sold for 300.000 euro to Helgstrand Dressage, and the only deal finished before the server went down Thursday.

Premium stallion for Gestüt Pallerhaff

Gestüt Pallerhaff in Luxemburg also aquired a super well moving Premium stallion, no 39 by Diamond Hit / Johnson for 80.000 euro. Both owner of Gestüt Pallerhaff Jens Thorsen and rider Kristine Möller are very excited about their new top quality stallion. The stallion will be available for the breeders, but it is not yet decided from which stallion station he will be available.

Successful Van Olst Sales auction “The Young Ones”

The last virtual hammer just fell during the Young Ones auction. From the group of three-year-old geldings out of the Van Olst breeding program, 7 better horses were selected and auctioned this evening.

With a total turnover of € 108.500,- and an average price of € 15.500,- these horses were sold for a good price.

The most expensive two horses in the auction are both by Inclusive, the most expensive of the evening being the gelding Nico. For the nice amount of € 27,000, this gelding moves to a dressage stable in the Netherlands.

Nike D is also sold to a Dutch rider who previously bought a horse through the Van Olst Sales. In addition to these 2 horses, 2 more were sold within the Netherlands and the other horses were sold to France, the United States and Germany.

Stutteri Vilard beliggende i Ishøj havde i 2019 årets hoppeføl i Dansk Varmblod, nu venter de samme kombination, og drømmer naturligvis om samme super kvalitet.

“Vi venter to føl i 2021, men først i slutningen af maj. Der er ikke en af de to vi glæder os mest til, men ønsker blot to raske føl. Først og fremmest venter vi dog en helsøskende til årets hoppeføl i 2019, en Franklin / Don Romantic og håber selvfølgelig på at lave en med samme kvaliteter. Derudover venter vi en D'Avie / Sandro Hit, på Don Schufros hoppestamme.”

“Med hensyn til hingstevalget i 2021, så er vi, ganske atypisk, slet ikke kommet i gang med overvejelserne endnu, men vi har heldigvis også flere måneder til hopperne foler. Vi forventer at ifole 2-3 hopper.”

“Hingsten Iron er far til føl nr. 17 på vores 22-årige elitehoppe ERDH Samantha født 1999 efter Michellino/Pion. Hun er fit for fight og har passet sine føl perfekt, så når hun forhåbentlig leverer endnu et velskabt føl først på sommeren, og så er det tid for et velfortjent otium sammen med resten af flokken her hos os. Hun har givet os så mange dejlige afkom og oplevelser i årenes løb, så det er selvfølgelig en lidt underlig fornemmelse at det nu er hendes sidste føl, men vi føler os priviligeret som avlere at have taget imod 16 føl og nu snart det 17. og sidste fra Samantha.”

“Planen for 2021 er lige nu at vi for første gang siden 1997 ikke vil i fole nogle hopper i år. Alle 3 hopper foler ret sent, og vi har derfor valgt at spring over, også selvom vi egentlig har en super spændende og velgående 3 års hoppe efter Ibiza/Romanov/Idocus som vi gerne vil have i folet.”

“Vi forsøger at holde økonomien omkring vores hestehold fornuftig, og med sene i folinger synes vi risikoen for at hopperne løber om, eller slet ikke kommer i fol, er for stor i forhold til de omkostninger der er forbundet med i folingerne. Derudover har vi også et par gode ungheste som vi vil have tilredet og solgt, og så er vi klar til 2022 sæsonen med i foling i foråret,” fortæller Heidi Bickham.
