No fully polished tests for today’s CDI4 Grand Prix in Munich

Just seven times Fry and Glamourdale scored a 9 today

Charlotte Fry is really showing her horses in super form each time she is entering the centerline, and today with another top performance with the still “green” Grand Prix stallion Glamourdale.

When watching the test today you just get the feeling that more 9´s were missing and also worth a couple of 10´s. The control and power combined with suppleness makes the outstanding overall picture. It is a pleasure to watch correct frame, steady contact and 100% “yes hat” all the way - this is dressage at it´s best.

Good halt, power expressive diagonal, crossing forward uphill half passes, bit unsteady halt good rein back, power diagonal, super into passage, smooth sit into piaffe, active piaffe, super transitions, good walk tour, super passage, nice 2nd piaffe, good into canter, super forward 2 times, WOW EXTENSION, super zigzag, good 1 times, bit big last stride 1st pirouette, super 2nd, bit late into trot, super diagonal, super final centerline.

Lorenzo back in the arena after nearly 3,5 years - placed 2nd today

Lorenzo made his name at the international top level together with Spanish international rider Severo Jurado Lopez and together they came 5th at Rio Olympics freestyle final in 2016.

Last time Lorenzo was at start with Severo was back in January 2017. After a short stay at Charlotte Jorst in USA he came back, and “disappeared” with an injury. Today the now 15 year old Lorenzo was back at international level together with Swedish Helgstrand Dressage Grand Prix rider Jeanna Högberg. They showed a very solid and strong performance and they suits each other really well and makes a nice over all picture.

With today’s performance they secured their first Olympic qualifier and looks like a valuable card for the Swedish team for the Olympics.

Bit tense halt, expressive with power diagonal, well balanced half passes, good halt with rein back, nice into passage, 1st piaffe at the spot, relaxed big extended walk, good collected walk, super active at the spot 2nd piaffe, good into canter, good 2 times, good extended canter, super balanced zigzag, bit tense 1 times, super quality 1st pirouette, bit big 2nd pirouette, good into trot, power diagonal, very nice final centerline, nice halt. 72,891%

Grand Prix Freestyle

Dujardin and MSJ Freestyle without real competition for today Grand Prix freestyle. Winner with 11% says it all.

Charlotte Dujardin / MSJ Freestyle - super strong performance, unfortunately a small canter for the first extended trot at the diagonal, but from there a smooth power test, very nice choreography showing piaffe fan, half passes in passage and double pirouettes, 1 & 2 times on slight curved track, joker line with one times at the centerline. From H2R point of view the music could be a bit more personal and powerful. 88,345%

Charlotte and Carl with same issues yesterday and today

Yesterday both MSJ Freestyle and En Vogue became spooky and was spinning at the 2nd piaffe tour in the Grand Prix, and today both lost the balance and jumped into canter for the first extension, En Vogue in Grand Prix Special and MSJ Freestyle in the Grand Prix freestyle - very weird coincidences.

Some technical tension issues today but at the same time a very balanced test from very experienced Jessica where she guides the still quite inexperienced Ferdinand BB.

Gio and Charlotte Dujardin - photo credit: Petra Kerschbaum / EQWO.net

Huge start list for today’s international Grand Prix at Wellington, UK

Dujardin again with two strong performances and even though with a few glimpses she is still outstanding. Today with best performance and win together with Gio and MSJ Freestyle second. Into 2nd piaffe Freestyle moves her focus to outside the arena and she tries to spin around and also affected at the subsequent transition to canter. With Gio Dujardin showed a power test and at the end of the 1 times it was just about to “stay there” as Gio nearly lost the two final changes but Charlotte was just ahead of his intentions - nothing less than a world class rescue!

Carl Hester and En Vogue looked overall much more harmonious, for sure not the plan not just showing 13 one time temps.

Only British top rider not at start was Charlotte Fry based in The Netherlands. She already showed her horses with top placements at both Exloo and Hagen and will also participate at Compiegne.

H2R comments:

Gio / Charlotte Dujardin - super halt, power diagonal, crossing balanced power half passes, good halt with rein back, power diagonal, smooth in to passage, active bit forward 1st piaffe with nice transitions, relaxed extended walk with good over track, super collected walk active, good into passage, bit travelling forward 2nd piaffe, good into canter, good 2 times tiny swing hind, power diagonal extended canter, good zigzag, wow Charlotte kept them all final 1 times nearly blown away, nice pirouettes, good into trot, power diagonal, very nice final centerline with best piaffe at the spot. 79,130%

MB2-A

71,777%. Ekvipagen slutter som nr. 3.

MA2-A

Atterupgaards Delorean / Selina Solberg Vittinghus - Trend efter travturen 77% (kunne sagtens have været +80%), god skridt tur, i galoppen indløber der desværre spændingsfejl, i bl.a. omstilling i traversade og serier.

Parret gentager deres sejr 73,421%

Bundgaard Byg

Screen Shot 2021-05-08 at 12.15.35.png

International debut victory

Such a please to watch this outstanding mare Elvive by Tuschinski / Blue Hors Don Schufro together with Australian Lyndal Oatley.

This mare is very special to Lyndal, and watching them from the “side line” is also very special. Lovely balanced and supple all the way, and it looks a bit like all the exercises are executed in slow motion, not that any of the movements are slow at all but so much harmony and balance even though with some tiny issues today.

The photo above is pretty much the full picture of the Elvive and Lyndal test today.

Straight balanced entering halt, power balanced diagonal, supple huge crossing half passes, small disturb by transition, nice halt super rein back just 4 steps, power expressive diagonal, smooth into passage, active off the ground passage, superb sit and balance in active piaffe, easy transitions, nice over track for extended walk could let go a bit more, good collected walk, nice into passage, small tension in the contact begin of passage, superb 2nd piaffe, smooth in and out, nice into canter, superb 2 times balanced uphill over full diagonal, nice extended canter, well balanced zigzag, nice 1 times, super sit small lost of balance 1st, 2nd bit stocked but huge sit and quality, power diagonal, very nice final centerline. 73,087%

Super exciting young horse for Dutch Thamar Zweista with her just 8 year old impressive grey stallion Hexagon´s Ich Weiss by Rubiquil / Negro. No weaknesses, lot of expression and mechanic in the movements. They already made their debut back in February in Le Mans.

Unfortunately Patrik Kittel was eliminated together with his top horse Well Done de la Roche, as judge at C stopped them after final halt and apparently found traces of blood.

British Charlotte Fry with strong top performances in both CDI3 Grand Prix freestyle and Grand Prix Special at Exloo today

Everdale and Charlotte Fry

Everdale and Charlotte Fry

With her two experienced horses Dark Legend and Everdale Charlotte Fry just showed at this weeks international event at Exloo that she is ready for the Olympics in just 77 days. And not least she recently also entered the international big tour scene successfully with KWPN stallion Glamourdale.

Screen Shot 2021-05-06 at 20.39.02.png

International debut for both KWPN approved stallions Indian Rock by Apache / Vivaldi and Inclusive by Everdale / Uptown.

Both stallions with super qualities and showed by very experienced riders Emmelie Scholtens and Charlotte Fry. No doubt that both stallions will get the chance to develop also into the international Grand Prix level.
