Next generation of Grand Prix horses - today with CDI4 victory for Patrik Kittel with 9 year old Touchdown

After corona lock down more very talented and high quality young Grand Prix horses has entered the international big scene.

Today Patrik Kittel and the 9 year old Swedish bred Touchdown by Quaterback / Sack took their first ever international Grand Prix start victory together. Last year at Vilhelmsborg DEN they made their international small tour debut.

It was as usual a very well prepared young Grand Prix horses shining the entire test and presented by Kittel. Super supple without tensions only minor thing was the transitions out of the piaffe tours with kind of one big step out and then catching the passage. Three super supple expressive paces, lovely contact and frame, nice angles for piaffe and passage, although the final centerline is missing a bit more power for the passage. Super nice series and well balanced pirouettes.

Another 9 year old in today’s field was Denoix PCH with Hubertus Schmidt. Back in Mannheim in April they made their international debut. The big chestnut mover shows super obedience and qualities with nice angles but still lacking the last strength for the canter tour.

Lyndal Oatley shows her 12 year old Eros in a nice harmonious picture. Strong performance with only weak point for the extended trot tour which becomes a bit running. Today’s extra change after a very nice zigzag canter dropped them down to 7th place but a very strong final part of the canter tour with nice series and super quality controlled pirouettes brings them back into 3rd spot.

One more debut today for First Romance with Dorothee Schneider showing a lovely trot tour, nice passage and good piaffe tours with bit forward trend, very nice walk tour, the canter ifself is with very nice basic quality, but seems to lack bit more strength for the flying changes especially for the change to left which becomes pretty small both for series and for the zigzag.

In a very short time Kittel has really built up a serious partnership with Danish Warmblood top mare Fiontini. And for the fans it might be a short partnership as Fiontini presumably will change ownership before next years World Championships in Herning.

Nordentoft køber de to dyreste føl på DV´s Nord-Syd Auktion i går i Vestbrik

2021 følauktion Nord-Syd

Der var udsolgt til gårsdagens auktionsarrangement på Vestbrik Ridecenter, og køberne var klar ved bordene og via telefonen.

Præsentationen om eftermiddagen gav et rigtig fint indtryk af hver enkelt føl, og selve forløbet med to omgange i hallen fungerede rigtig fint. De bedste føl opnåede fine salgspriser og der blev primært solgt føl til danske købere.

Katalog nr. 11 med hammerslag på kr. 100.000 til Nordentoft

Katalog nr. 29 med hammerslag på kr. 94.000 til CK Dressage (dagens absolut bedste føl til både præsentationen og auktionen)

Super flot CDI4 Grand Prix kür debut i aften til Lone Bang Larsen med Thranegaardens Rostov

Til tonerne af Adele viste Lone og Rostov en super flot kür i aftenens Grand Prix kür i Aachen

Det smukke oplyste Deutsche Bank stadion dannede rammen om aftenens flotte kür som blev vundet af Desperado og Emmelie Scholtens.

Lone Bang og Rostov var klar til at vise deres kür for det skarpe tyske publikum - og de skuffede ikke. Den imponerende kulisse ser ikke ud til at give hverken Lone eller Rostov synlige sommerfugle i maven. Hele turen virker de imponerende skarpe, og musikken er super flot i forhold til øvelserne en for en, hvor bl.a. etterne bliver præcist i rytme til musikken og antal changementer. Det ligner alt andet end en international debut kür, og bestemt heller ikke en urutineret Rostov som indtager det store stadion med flot overblik og afspændthed.

Ingen tekniske fejl, flotte serier og gode pirouetter, super afspændt skridt tur og flotte øgninger. Rostov ligner en rigtig kammerat på banen som hele vejen følger Lone´s anvisninger. Passage turene bliver lidt mekaniske af jorden men stadig med super aktivitet og piaffe turene fungere godt.

Det var også tydeligt at Lone havde overskud til den sidste midterlinie hvor hun tydeligt opfordrede tilskuerne at klappe dem “i mål” de sidste meter.

Super flot afslutning af Aachen for Lone og Rostov men også der spæde første skridt på den helt store scene. Et par vi helt sikkert vil se meget mere til, og hvor der med dagens 5. plads med 77% stadig er potentiale til mere.

At beginning of the career the walk tour was a serious issue, but Fabienne has now developed the walk to be with clear rhythm for the extension but still a bit unbalanced for the collected tour.

Today’s performance with Personal Best and unfortunately the extra flying changes at the centerline with the pirouettes did the difference between being 2nd or winning today. Super performance with outstanding qualities and impressive picture of controlled power. The extended canter was just WOW but only today’s judge at M Danish Susanne Baarup rewarded them with 10! Today´s score was 77,170%.

Yesterday with Personal Best score in Grand Prix with 73,935% and today again Personal Best with 75,064% and clearly best ever performance. Anna has been able to improve the outline of the frame from showing mostly very short neck for the entire tests to show a very nice frame the entire test now. Today´s highlights were trot extensions, walk tour and pirouettes, but also showing good passage and nice series.

🇳🇱9 year old Hermés by Easy Game / Flemmingh with Dinja van Liere showed why they were selected for the Olympics for the Dutch team.

Hermés is not a spectacular mover. Dinja presents the young stallion in a super frame, always in front of the aides, well balanced and supple, when she is asking a bit more in the piaffe he is just answering with a clear yes. Easy supple obedient test and for the subsequent prize giving ceremony he was just standing fully relaxed all the time, while both Dark Legend and Fiontini were somewhat tense and moving around.

Huge development

The 10-year old Vitalis son Valesco with Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier showed super qualities today. Much more settled, clearly gained more strength and experience bringing it all more together with power and flow, and you can really feel Fabienne is able to ask and he is responding with power and obedience.

🇳🇱Emmelie Scholtens and Desperado was back in the arena after they had to withdraw from the Olympic selection due to a minor injury. They showed a strong test and now Emmelie shows a small baby belly expecting her first child in January together with her long time partner Jeroen Witte.

On winner track

Charlotte Fry was ready with KWPN stallion Glamourdale and they showed a strong and expressive power trot tour, good passage and piaffe tours, extended walk lacking bit more relaxation, super serie and very well balanced zigzag, power extended canter unfortunately both pirouettes did not succeed as the forward search for the first was missing and Glamourdale becomes hind the aides and a small lack of balance for the second one. Costly and for sure from winner position to 5th place.

🇩🇰Thranegaardens Rostov / Lone Bang Larsen - Solid test without any technical issues, open halt with bit tense rein back, good piaffe / passage tour, lacking bit more strength for transitions, very obedient overall test. Finishing 14 with 70,413%.

For this auction World Champion stallion Jovian is also represented with 2 offsprings.

H2R favorites:

No 1 - super expressive stallion look and supple mover.

No 4 - very nice mover but still very young body wise with lovely active power from behind.

No 11 - Best mover - outstanding power of the ground but not the most modern type.
