VIDEO - Blue Hors Santiano klar finale i både KWPN hingste konkurrencerne samt Subli Cup

Renate van Uytert og My Blue Hors Santiano (foto fra Blue Hors)

Blue Hors Santiano e.

Update in Danish from Danish Warmblood here.

KWPN stallion licensing comes up 4th and 5th February - LIVE at Clipmyhorse

For the last two years the stallions selected for 2nd round also had to be presented by lunging before the 2nd round.

This part of the stallion selection the KWPN licensing committee has now agreed not to continue for the future.

From H2R point of view the lunging part is a very important tool in order to watch the future potential as a riding horse such as balance and self carriage, but it is of course all about good preparation if the stallion must show his real potential.

H2R highlights:

Hingstekåringen i Herning

  • Straight Horse Forza Farrel e. Blue Hors Farrell / Jazz - udtryksfuld og velgående

  • Fabio G e. Blue Hors Farrell / Sezuan - hingstelook og velgående

  • JJ Fellini e.

  • Kleppenhus Vital e. Vitalis / Ampere - smidig med godt hingste udtryk

11 young KWPN dressage stallions are up for online auction until 3rd January

Best youngsters for further education

Below you find the 3 best young stallions of this small collection. All 3 with clear quality gaits. The presentation by lunging gives a much more clear picture of the horse as a riding horse.

The Glamourdale / Painted Black look like a clear top price. Lovely balance, nice self carriage and good expression

Both the Glock´s Toto Jr / Tuschinski and the Glock´s Taminau / Uphill look like youngster with very nice qualities as future dressage horses.

Here you find the entire collection.

14 KWPN stallions out of 20 ready for their 50-days performance test

A total of 20 dressage stallions were yesterday presented under saddle at the first day of the performance test

All stallions were originally accepted for the performance test from the main stallion licensing either earlier this year or last year, but differently from all other breeding societies this day also became the final day at the testing for some of the stallions, as the licensing commission once again did a selection like wise the stallions had to pass the vet check, and this time only 14 out of 20 stallions were accepted for the performance testing.

The most interesting stallion from the pedigree was definitely the black stallion with the name Nolegro. He is by Painted Black out a full sister of Valegro.

Nolegro brings an active well balanced trot, a super canter and very nice supple walk with good over track. And it is quite obvious that Nolegro brings the strong and active hindlegs from the impact of Ferro as both the sire Painted Black (Gribaldi/Ferro) and of course also from the dam by (Negro - Ferro/Variant) brings the Ferro blood. Type wise not the most modern stallion, but for the breeders with focus on the sport this is for sure a stallion to keep an eye on.

Both Premium stallions Nivaro by For Ferrero / Charmeur and Next Level by Jarville / Prestige VDL also looked good at the presentation. Next Level brings a lovely expressive type with a quick off the ground trot with lots of knee action, good for some moments bit unabalanced walk and superb well balanced uphill canter.

Newton TC by Jerveaux / Dream Boy is at the moment not really a stallion type but well moving and in front of the riders aides (presented by Adelinde Cornelissen). Good rhythm for the trot but lack more under the gravity, super supple walk and good canter.

17 DSP Youngsters are up for sale now at Online Auction

17 young stallions for sale

The current top price is 20.000 euro for no 17 by For Romance / Comte.

The auction is running till Tuesday 28 December at 7.30 pm.

No 7 by Fürst Samarant / Sandro King is out of Danish Warmblood mare gold medal mare and mare of the year (2009) Fabrix Miss Esandri former successfully competed at international small tour level with Fie Skarsø.

From the video presentation the Benicio / Rubinstein I look like the most attractive youngster.

Here you find the entire collection.

Overview for the upcoming KWPN stallion licensing

Getting ready for KWPN stallion licensing 2-5 February in Den Bosch

6 days with KWPN stallion pre-selection

Did you manage to follow the entire KWPN stallion pre-selection? At the beginning of December the annual KWPN stallion pre-selection took place in Ermelo.

A total of 84 stallions were selected for the 2nd round and this year with most selected young stallions by Glock´s Toto Jr. and Just Wimphof.

If you want to have a quick overview of the best stallions (from H2R point of view) you will have them here below.

Daily H2R highlights from the pre-selection:

Cathrine Dufour: The World Championships on home ground is completely unique

Herning2022 bliver helt unikt, udtaler verdensranglistens nr. 2. Foto: Lars Møller

“I dream of riding the World Championships on home ground, and I will do my best to support the major event and the team behind Herning2022”, world ranked No. 2 Cathrine Dufour states.

Cathrine Dufour: The World Championships on home ground is completely unique

ECCO FEI World Championships 2022 Herning (DEN) will be held from 6 - 14 August 2022. The Organisers Jens Trabjerg, CEO Sport, and Casper Cassøe, CEO Operations, have assembled a strong and committed team to make Herning2022 an unforgettable experience for guests, athletes and everyone involved.
"World Championships on home ground is completely unique, and the Danish athletes will do everything to line up for such an outstanding event, such as the one that awaits us in Herning. I am proud to be Danish, and hope it will be a huge success”, says the Danish dressage rider Cathrine Dufour, who is currently ranked second on the FEI World Rankings.
Dressage and Vaulting open the World Championships on 6 August, and the two disciplines run until 10 August – the first day of competition for Jumping and Para Dressage, and the two disciplines will close the Championships on Sunday 14 August.
The Organisers have worked closely with several Danish elite athletes to create the best conditions for athletes and horses during the Championships.

My expectations are sky high

Cathrine Dufour is an ambassador for Herning2022 and her expectations for these Championships are sky high: “I really expect a lot from the event in Herning next year”, says Cathrine Dufour. “My expectations are sky high. We know the stables, they are absolutely fantastic, but I also have expectations for everything else surrounding the Championships, I know the whole team makes a huge effort to ensure everybody an extraordinary experience in Herning”, she continued.
Cathrine Dufour is in top form ahead of the World Championships. She finished individual fourth at the Olympics in Tokyo - together with the Danish team (Carina Cassøe Krüth and Nanna Skodborg Merrald) they came in at fourth place. At the European Championships in Hagen, Dufour won a bronze medal in the Grand Prix Special and a silver medal in freestyle, while the Danish team won bronze. Both Championships were ridden on Bohemian, an 11 year gelding by Bordeaux registered in Westphalia and owned by the Zinglersen family.

Expectations for the team

Hopes are flying high for a medal to the Danish dressage team at Herning2022, and Cathrine Dufour already has good vibes about the Danish form:
“The Danish team looks really strong right now. We have several athletes who are well established on their own horses, the team can be insanely sensational. However, we have seen before that just a few months before the championships, things can change, but I am very positive.”
About her own expectations for the Championship, Cathrine Dufour is more hesitant. She has several horses competing at Grand Prix level, and she naturally hopes to be part of the Danish team at the World Championships.

Big enough to matter, small enough to care

When 200,000 spectators, 1,100 media and approx. 200 million TV viewers turn their attention to Herning, the Organisers aim to create a World Championship giving athletes and horses the best conditions to shine in competition.
“We have an ambition to make Herning2022 a multi-event with the sport as the center of attention. Horse enthusiasts will have the possibility to have an exceptional experience at the fair, EquiPark. And at the same time, we aim to ensure children and adults, without previous knowledge of horses and horseshows, a fun an exciting experience at EquiPark”, Jens Trabjerg explains.
“We are well ahead in our planning, and we experience a completely overwhelming interest from many sides, to be part of this World Championships. Together with our main sponsors and close partners: The Municipality of Herning, Sport Event Denmark and the Danish Equestrian Federation, we have set the framework for the entire event”, adds Casper Cassøe.
There is a strong interest in buying tickets and access to the Helgstrand VIP lounge, giving the Organisers the opportunity to focus on creating a very special World Championship.
Jens Trabjerg concludes: “We look forward to welcoming everyone to Herning2022, and we will do our best to ensure that everyone has a fantastic experience, and at the same time experience some Danish “hygge” in accordance with our motto: “big enough to matter, small enough to care”.
Jens Trabjerg, Casper Cassøe and the entire team behind Herning2022 wishes all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier and Isabel Freese

They came into the final as favourites and they did not disappoint

Preliminary test today for Nürnberger Burg-Pokal and Louisdor Preis finals

Nürnberger Burg-Pokal

Danish Warmblood mare Straight Horse Ascenzione with Helen Langehanenberg look like the top candidates for the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal title 2021 with a super performance today scoring 76,976%. Lovely light footed, well balanced and powerful all the way and still with room for improvement makes the odds for the title pretty high. No technical issues, 3 supple gaits without any weaknesses and super abilities.

Danish Daniel Bachmann Andersen with Caracciola MT finish 7th with 72,195% with a few issues for today’s test. Canter out of entering halt and the 4 times with some extra changes and tiny against the hand for rein back at the final centerline.

Louisdor Preis

Total Hope OLD and Isabel Freese look like the new Louisdor Preis winners 2021, but nothing sure before final halt tomorrow. Overall impressions from today was an obedient and supple Total Hope without any technical issues and with absolute highlights for the canter tour with lovely pirouettes and superb flying changes.

Hot Hit and Frederic Wandres showed their test with the whip today and whether it will change the qualities without we will know after tomorrow´s final as it is not allowed to bring the whip for the final. They show a very nice and obedient test with very nice qualities.

Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier showed her two young Vitalis Grand Prix horses Valencia AS and Valesco and was placed 3rd and 4th today. Lovely expressive and obedient horses, both lacking bit more balance and clear rhythm for the walk tours, but lovely supple trot tours and superb flying changes and nice quality pirouettes.

Finals

FEI PRESS RELEASE - Dujardin and Gio delight the London crowd

As three-time Olympic gold medallist Charlotte Dujardin said tonight, there’s nothing quite like a big win in front of the home crowd. The 36-year-old athlete and the brilliant little gelding Gio certainly gave spectators a treat when sweeping to a last-to-go victory at the fourth leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2021/2022 Western European League in London (GBR) with a test that simply sparkled.

The horse was sold following the pair’s spectacular summer of success that included taking team and individual bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in July and team silver and Freestyle bronze at the FEI Dressage European Championships in Hagen (GER) in September, but were re-united for one final performance together at their home fixture this week. And the crowd were treated to an exhibition of precision and partnership that earned a personal-best Freestyle score of 89.040 tonight.

Runner-up spot went to Dujardin’s Tokyo team-mate Charlotte Fry riding Dark Legend, while Germany’ Frederic Wandres and Duke of Britain slotted into third.

First

Wandres, who rides for Hof Kasselmann in Hagen where the 2021 European Championships were staged, was the first to score over 80 percent and that mark could have been higher but for a mistake in the two-tempi changes. Fourth-last to go, Denmark’s Nanna Skodborg Merrald and Atterupgaards Orthilia followed him into the ring and looked set to pose a strong challenge, but the pair who were members of the Danish European bronze-medal-winning team were eliminated at the very end of their test for blood in the mare’s mouth.

Britain’s Fry was next in and raised the bar with a fabulous performance from Dark Legend, the 13-year-old gelding with which she won the European U25 Championship title back in 2018. It has been a dream year for this 25-year-old rider who, with the 12-year-old stallion Everdale, competed alongside Dujardin on the British teams in Tokyo and Hagen, and tonight Dark Legend showed he wasn’t to be outdone when moving to the top of the scoreboard with just two left to go.

But when the penultimate British duo, Richard Davison and Bubblingh, put 76.910 on the board then it was all eyes on Dujardin and Gio who were always expected to make a big impact, and they didn’t disappoint. The little chestnut horse seems to take everything in his stride, and although still a relatively unexposed 10-year-old he continues to grow in confidence and ability. Yesterday he was convincing winner of the Short Grand Prix and tonight he listened to everything he was asked to do and presented a glorious picture of a great athlete who is really comfortable in his own skin as he executed a truly exacting test.

In Tokyo he earned a mark of 88.513 for Olympic Freestyle bronze, tonight he bettered that by more than half a percentage point with a score of 89.040 that included 10 maximum scores of 10 and multiples of 9’s and 9.5’s while Dujardin gave another of her masterclasses of sensitive and professional riding.

Special

"He truly is a very special horse. This year he did his very first Olympics, his very first Europeans and now he’s just finished off by winning the World Cup here at the London International Horse Show. What a legend!"

Charlotte Dujardin (GBR)

she said tonight.

Like most athletes, she thrives in front of a home crowd - “there’s nothing like riding at home and having your own crowd cheering you on. I’ve really missed everyone and I’d like to thank you all very much for coming and supporting!”, she said during the prizegiving ceremony.

And she’s really pleased with how Gio has developed. “He has come on so much and so quickly this season, and finishing the year with two personal bests here in the Short Grand Prix yesterday and the Freestyle tonight is amazing. He has shown what a great horse he really is!”, she added.

However he’ll be going back to his new owner, British junior rider Annabella Pidgley, now. Dujardin said the new partnership is “magical to watch - she (Annabella) is an amazing up-and-coming rider, so next year is going to be very exciting!”, she pointed out.

Incredible

Meanwhile Fry said she also really enjoyed performing in front of the London spectators tonight. “It was incredible - even before you ride your test the crowed is cheering for you. It’s a wonderful feeling and I don’t think the year could have ended up any better!”, she said.

And Frederic Wandres was happy too. He found it a struggle to make the trip due to both Brexit and Covid regulations, but he was determined it would happen. “We really wanted to be here - I have such good memories and I really wanted to get Duke of Britain here again!”, said the 34-year-old athlete who, with the same horse, previously won the London leg of the series in 2018 which seriously boosted his profile.

Today’s third-place finish has further enhanced the firm lead he had already established on the Western European League leaderboard and, going into the fifth round of the eight-leg series in Amsterdam (NED) next month he carries 65 points and looks well set for the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final 2022 which will take place on his home soil in Leipzig (GER) next April.

Don’t miss a hoofbeat…..
