Dansker i Aachen

VIDEO - CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle victory to Danish Lone Bang Larsen with Thranegaardens Rostov

Light and easy

Danish Lone Bang and her 12 year old mare Thranegaardens Rostov by Blue Hors Romanov / Diamond show a very nice Grand Prix freestyle today. (Not their best score but from the side line their best test).

Very harmonious and balanced overall picture. No technical issues and very good go and flow for the entire test. One of the highlights was the light and easy contact with a nice closed mouth all the time. It is a pleasure to watch this kind of self carriage under the riders aides all the way.

Very nice choice of music with high degree of difficulty, and where the music is fitted into each exercise. A well deserved victory today in front of Andreas Helgstrand with 8 year old Queenparks Wendy by Sezuan / Blue Hors Soprano. Lots of qualities but still some unbalanced moments for today´s test and where you of course still can see that Wendy is missing some strength.

VIDEO - Jovian, Zippo M.I. and Heiline´s Zackton in top of today´s CDI3 Grand Prix Special in Aalborg

click here to watch the 77,915% Grand Prix Special test

Jovian & Andreas Helgstrand - WOW Grand Prix Special debut 77,915%. Trot steps into super halt, power expressive balanced diagonal, huge crossing up hill half pass left, good into passage, explosive out into extended trot, back up into regular big passage, huge crossing half pass right, one step after the other, uphill balanced, good walk tour, early start for piaffe bit forward, good transitions, active 2nd piaffe better at the place with nice angle, bit big into canter from passage, bit tense hind for canter half passes, nice 2 times, bit swinging 1 times, good extended canter, well balanced 1st pirouette, good bit swinging 1 times, good 2nd pirouette, power long side extended trot, super final centerline.

It is just awesome how this only 8 year old stallion is able both to float and collect with such qualities. Andreas just kicked off a very exciting new chapter less than 3 month before World Championships in Herning.

Zippo M.I. / Daniel Bachmann Andersen - Well balanced expressive trot and passage tours, nice well balanced left, tiny lost of balance into right half pass, good walk tour, good 1st piaffe lacking bit more balance, well managed 2nd piaffe, good transitions, tense transition to canter, good balance for half passes, good 2 times, good straight 1 times, good extended canter, bit big 1st pirouette, good 1 times, 2nd missing bit more centering, good extension long side, good final centerline, good halt. 72,000% - super international debut!

Daniel just produced another international Grand Prix horse, and with Zippo he shows how to develop from event to event. This is just the beginning.

Heiline´s Zackton / Carina Cassøe Krüth. Smooth trot tour with nice transitions, passage and good extensions, good walk tour, forward 1st piaffe, better at the place 2nd piaffe, good transitions, nice into canter, good zigzag, final change for 2 times with parallel, error end of 1 times, good extended canter, huge sit for both pirouettes, good 1 times, good into trot, good extension, nice final centerline, with super halt. 70,234%

Solid work and today with a clearly more motivated and body wise relaxed Zackton.

VIDEOS - Jovian and Andreas Helgstrand entered the international Grand Prix scene today with impressive 77,130%

Aalborg Dressage Event started today with three international CDI3 classes: Prix St. Georg, U25 Grand Prix and Grand Prix.

The weather was not much spring like, as it was very windy with some smaller showers during the day, and for some of the horses it made quite a difference coming from the indoor warm-up arena going out into the stormy weather.

For the small tour Nanna Merrald and Blue Hors Znickers showed a super balanced test without any major issues, only a small unbalance into the 2nd canter half pass. Severo Jurado Lopez and the beautiful Fresco were placed 2nd with a strong trot tour, but some difficulties for the series. Placed 3rd was Michael Søgaard with his big boy Jukebox showing a well managed test without any technical issues. Last placed in Prix St. Georg was Danish Anne Marie Hosbond with Scarlett, recently also placed international at Kronenberg, NED.

The field for U25 unfortunately was missing more quality

Only high overall qualities for the future was showed by international U25 debut combination Danish Aagaardens Lianne and Karoline Rohmann. Even though it was equal scores with Blue Hors Veneziano the qualities seen from the side line was obvious with a clear surplus for Karoline and Lianne.

Jovian with 77% international debut

Recently Andreas showed 8 year old Jovian at national Grand Prix level with impressive 83% and of course everyones eye where on Jovian and Andreas today. Were they able to show and score at that level with an international judging panel? YES they were able to impress the entire judging panel today, as they all agreed on 77%. Just 3 x 10 for extended trot today, and no 10´s for half passes yet. Let´s see for tomorrow´s Grand Prix Special.

Helgstrand also made his international GP debut today with Queenparks Wendy with a strong performance.

Lone Bang Larsen and Thranegaardens Rostov were placed 3rd with Personal Best score 72,326%. Technical strong performance with only an unbalanced transition to canter from passage.

Daniel Bachmann Andersen does really improve his performances with Zippo M.I. everytime we see them in the arena. Today more relaxation, much better paiffe tours and really nice series, unfortunately an expensive lost of balance in the first pirouette.

Here you find all results from the event.

Winner of 2-days short performance test by Blue Hors Romanov / Sir Sinclair with 8,8

Oberyn Red Viber ZL by Blue Hors Romanov / Sir Sinclair was today´s winner of the short performance test. A super stallion, well balanced, supple obedient showing top ride ability and qualities.

Trot 8,5 - canter 9,0 - walk 8,8 - ride ability 8,8 - potential 9,0 = 8,80

Placed 2nd: St Emilion by Suarez / Dante Weltino. Active supple quick of the ground movements - very much like Dante Weltino from type and movements, but even better walk (superb walk). Lovely fresh for both presentations.

Trot 8,8 - canter 8,6 - walk 8,6 - ride ability 8,5 - potential 8,7 = 8,62

Emperador BC by Escolar / Sir Donnerhall I - Easy going, strong body wise young stallion, attentive and well moving of the ground. Lacking bit more overall relaxation in the body today.

Trot 9,0 - canter 8,2 - walk 8,0 - ride ability 8,0 - potential 7,8 = Total score: 8,22

Surprisingly the stallion Extra Gold by Escolar / Apache did not finish his testing today as he after a couple of rounds with the test rider, as he then refused to go any further and therefore the testing was correctly stopped.

Performance test winner Red Viper is former top price foal at Borculo elite foal auction sold for 56.000 euro.

VIDEO - Successful international small tour debut for Spanish José Mena with Danish owned Nautilus

Spanish José Antonio Garcia Mena - photo credit: H2R

CDI 3* ALTER DO CHÃO

Spanish international top rider Jose Mena made his international small tour debut together with the 8 year old Trakehner gelding Nautilus by Connery, owned by Danish Jens Thorsen.

For about 3 year Nautilus has been under the saddle of José Mena, he took over the ride when Pallerhaff rider Kristine Møller got pregnant with her first child.

Until now they´ve made a very successful couple, and this week they just proved it once again winning their international small tour debut in both Prix St. Georg (70,824% ) and Intermediaire I (72,441% ) at CDI3* Alter do Chāo, Portugal.

VIDEO - 9 year old Destacado FRH with Matthias Alexander Rath winner of Grand Prix Special today at Mannheim

Just 9 year old HANN stallion Destacado FRH winner of today´s CDI4 Grand Prix Special in Mannheim

Lovely expressive supple test. Nice frame and with lots of natural go and obedience - a pleasure to watch. The critical eyes want Destacado to be more closed from behind, but with the package of three supple super gaits and the right attitude and willingness, there is absolutely no need to try to find the weak points.

At the prize giving Destacado was absolutely stunning - totally relaxed and enjoying the atmosphere.

Here you find the detailed results.

VIDEO - Total Hope OLD and Isabel Freese winner of international Grand Prix debut at Mannheim

Great international debut

10 year old Total Hope OLD with Norwegian rider Isabel Freese took yesterday´s CDI4 Grand Prix victory with impressive 75,957%. Lots of quality throughout the entire test, where Isabel shows a very obedient, powerful and supple Total Hope. It is nice to watch a debut with such quality and surplus and without any moments of tensions or insecurity, just a small unbalanced moment for the 2nd piaffe. Freese is able to “ask” during the test where she has him nicely in front of her aides and Total Hope is never in doubt about the “questions”.

Destacado FRH only 9 year old with Mathias Alexander Rath. Another young stallion with the “yes” hat. Lovely “I want to work” attitude all the way, lot of suppleness and quality, still some moments where the strength is missing a bit. Tension for halt with rein back, bit swinging back at begin of 2 times and 1st pirouette lacking more clear canter rhythm.

A closer look into the detailed scoring for Isabell Werth with Superb, where German top judge Katrina Wüst with 71,527%. Wüst is really using the scale throughout the test which also give the clear picture of the test 🙌

Top of CDI4 GP Mannheim:

Dorthee Schneider and Faustus winner of the CDI4 Grand Prix (for freestyle) 3,5% ahead of no 2.

VIDEO - Dinja van Liere and Hermes Dutch champions 2022

The big tour championship became really exciting for the Grand Prix yesterday, as Emmelie Scholtens was back with KWPN stallion Desperado. They haven´t been showing since Aachen last year due to an injury for Desperado and a baby break for Emmelie. They showed a strong Grand Prix and brought themself into the top of the field just in front of Hermes and Dinja van Liere. And Emmelie also showed her young stallion Indian Rock with a great performance in the Grand Prix and really interesting for the future.

As Desperado was Emmelie´s obvious first horse for the championships, Indian Rock was ready for the small final (Grand Prix Special), but unfortunately Desperado was not fit to compete for today´s Grand Prix freestyle. A very unfortunate situation for Emmelie and the Dutch team, as it might be a goodbye for the World Championships in Herning in August.

The champion 2022 was well deserved Hermes and Dinja. They showed a strong freestyle and with 4,5% ahead for Thamar Zweista with Hexagon´s Ich Weiss, and with Danish Warmblood Tørveslettens Titanium and Marieke van der Putten on bronze position. Must be first time ever with a Danish Warmblood at the podium at the Dutch Championships.

  1. Dinja van Liere (Uden) – Hermès (v. Easy Game), 77,956%-83,155% 161,111

  2. Thamar Zweistra (Schore) - Hexagon's Ich Weiss (v. Rubiquil), 73,304%-78,670% 151,974

  3. Marieke van der Putten (Apeldoorn) - Tørveslettens Titanium RS2 (v. Totilas), 73,978%-77,950% 151,928

ZZ-zwaar (small tour) championship with super qualities

Interesting to watch the up-coming horses with top riders. Winner became Bart Veeze with Kyton by Ferguson.

But runner up was Marieke van der Putten with a very interesting son of Glamourdale, Kuvasz RS2 (dam sire De Niro), a super nice truly copy of Glamourdale with lots of power, expression and qualities. Only the half pirouettes in canter is lacing bit more balance.

Bronze medal for Renate van Uytert with Johnny Deep.

Diederik van Silfhout with the super nice son of Dante Weltino, Dante U.S. out of same dam line as Total US. Today placed 2nd, but just outside the podium for the total score.

Læs nyheden fra Blue Hors her.
