Årets sidste international stævne i Mechelen / This years last international event at Mechelen

This morning with international Prix Sct. Georg at the program.

Unfortunately alarming many horses which had major problems for the collected walk. It was not only small imbalances along the way, but clearly without 3-beat for the walk.

Winner was Patrick van der Meer with the 9-year-old AES licensed stallion Chinook by Vivaldi / Havidoff (full brother to the KWPN stallion Desperado). Back in September Patrick van der Meer and Chinook made their debut together. Chinook is previously ridden by Dutch Jessica Buying.

Chinook is an impressive stallion which is moving smoothly, but still lacking the final power from behind. Typically "Vivaldi" smooth shoulder freedom and looks very rideable too. Unfortunately, the collected walk for Chinook, was as you express it in dressage language "criminal". For the second walk pirouette Chinook kicks himself at the front leg. Good half pirouettes in canter and good series, although the final sharpness is missing, Patrick van der Meer shows his experience and lead Chinook trough the test without major issues.
