New Danish Warmblood Grand Prix hope for Heather Blitz

Press release from Stutteri Goerklintgaard

The licensed Danish Warmblood stallion Goerklintgaards Shaolin will soon cross the Atlantic.

The black stallion by Goerklintgaards Santos/Quaterback has been purchased by Rowan O’Riley of Fair Sky Horse Sales, LLC in partnership with international Grand Prix rider Heather Blitz.

“Rowan and I are so excited to have this promising young horse join our stable. Shaolin is poetry in motion and has a fantastic character. I enjoy working with young horses and believe this one will go to the top,” says Heather Blitz.

Rowan O’Riley of Wellesley, Massachusetts is also the owner of other top dressage prospects including the Elite Grand Prix level mare Semper Fidelis (Sir Donnerhall/Welt Hit II) who will be campaigned by Blitz beginning in the 2019 Global Dressage Festival series in Wellington, Florida.  Blitz and her former partner Paragon (Don Schufro/Loran) were Gold and Silver medalists in the 2011 Pan American Games and reserves for London 2012 Olympics.

“I am thrilled to be working with the highly respected Ravn family of Goerklintgaaard to purchase and develop this exceptional young stallion.  I believe that Heather Blitz is the trainer who can bring out his full potential as a competitive dressage horse,” says Rowan O’Riley.

Born in 2015, Shaolin is bred by Jorgen Ravn of Goerklintgaard, Denmark, who is also the breeder of Kasey Perry-Glass’ Goerklintgaards Dublét. The Danish breeder have bred Shaolin’s sire and dam as well as his maternal and paternal grand dams.

“Shaolin is a very special horse to me - and it is a joy to know that he now is in the hands of two lovely, lovely people with high hopes for him. I cannot wait to follow Heather and Shaolin’s journey in the future,” says Jorgen Ravn.
