Debut Grand Prix Special with 74%

Yesterday was actually the first real Grand Prix for the 10 year old Eddieni by Johnson/Negro, and today Swedish Malin Wahlkamp-Nilsson also showed Eddieni for the first time ever in the Grand Prix Special and won with impressive 74,196%. It was definitely not an easy win as the field also was with strong German combinations.

The overall impression was a well balanced, very expressive and supple test, not showing any signs of a debut test. Just a small issue for the 15 one times, rest was effortless and very controlled without tensions.

Successful Young Horse

Eddieni was successful trained and competed at Young Horse level under Dutch Theo Hanzon, and sold in 2016 to Spanish Agusti Elias, who competed Eddieni at WCYH in Ermelo as 7 year old.

Malin Wahlkamp-Nilsson who has been part of Patrik Kittel´s team for 9 years, took over the ride of Eddieni back in May last year when Japanese owner Masahiro Kosaka purchased the talented gelding.

Future plans

Of course Malin was very happy after her successful weekend together with Eddieni. “He is an amazing horse with such a big heart, the more you pat him the better he goes. He is really funny, like that he gets super proud when he feels that his rider Is happy with him”, Malin tells.

"The plan for now is that I will compete him at some different shows to give him some experience, and Mr. Kosaka is coming in between to ride him. The long term plan right now is 2020 Tokyo Olympics for Mr. Kosaka”, says Malin.
