VIDEO - National Grand Prix victory for Pathetique and Dorothee Schneider

75% was quiet well paid for today’s victory. Nice flow for the trot tour and good balance, the collected walk becomes with some tensions on the short side, but still with 6,5 - 6,5 - 7,0 from the judges, small tensions for two times and zig-zag canter lack more flow, the final piaffe with a small lack of impulsion.

But Dorothee is a true master of presenting the horse in the arena, and just asking exact what the horse capable of that day - it´s all about timing.

Watch the test here below.

Both Kristina Bröring-Sprehe with Destiny OLD and Isabel Werth with Quintus were struggling with their tests. For Kristina it was mainly about lacking more balance and clear beat for the piaffe tours and transitions, as the rest was quite nice all the way. Isabel Werth started with Quintus trotting at the entering centerline, and then Werth just turned at started again. From there more unbalanced moments crept in, but as we know her she just kept on to the final centerline for the biggest applause from the audience.

Both finishes with 69%.

FEI PRESS RELEASE - Opportunity knocks with FEI World Championships 2022 bid process

unnamed.png

While 2019 is set to be another busy year for international horse sport, potential bidders are already vying for the possibility of hosting FEI World Championships in 2022. The FEI has already received some exciting expressions of interest for 2022, with more submissions expected before the 28 February deadline.

“I am delighted to say that the level of interest and the quality of submissions to host FEI World Championships in 2022 has been very high so far, and we are confident that we will have an interesting pool of candidates to choose from when the allocations are made later this year,” FEI President Ingmar De Vos said.

The FEI initiated a bid process for individual FEI World Championships in all disciplines for 2022 at the FEI General Assembly in Manama (BRN) in November last year.

The FEI President stressed at the time that this does not necessarily mean the end of the FEI World Equestrian Games™ concept, and bids to host the full seven disciplines together for 2022 will be considered.

The FEI Board unanimously approved the opening of a bidding process for individual world championships in all disciplines for 2022, with preference being given to multi-discipline bids. The Board also agreed that ideally the FEI World Championships for Dressage and Para Dressage should be combined. The world championships for 2022 in the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines will serve as qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Games.

“Equestrian sport has become increasingly globalised, but there are relatively few countries that have the capacity to host world championships in all disciplines simultaneously,” the FEI President said.

“The new bid process allows for the sustainable and cost-effective use of existing equestrian sports facilities and for the FEI to partner with National Federations that may have hesitated putting forward multi-discipline bids in the past. The door is now open for these Federations to consider submitting an expression of interest for an individual world championship in the discipline of their choice.”

In a key change to the bid process, the FEI will host an interactive workshop at the end of March in Lausanne for all National Federations/OrganisingCommittees that submit an expression of interest in the 2022 World Championships.

“This interactive workshop is a key factor in ensuring that we adequately convey the structure, opportunities and minimum requirements of hosting the FEI World Championships 2022. By working more closely with the National Federations and Organising Committees from the very start of the process, we can ensure a unified vision and establish an achievable set of goals to work towards,” Ingmar De Vos said.

There are over 4,000 FEI events organised world-wide annually across the seven disciplines of Jumping, Dressage & Para-Dressage, Eventing, Endurance, Driving & Para-Driving, Vaulting and Reining, with world championships in the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines held every four years and every second year for non-Olympic disciplines.

Timeline

  • 28 February 2019 – Deadline for receipt of non-binding expressions of interest to host one or multiple FEI World Championship(s) 2022. All information can be accessed here

  • 26 March 2019 – Workshop to be held in Lausanne after which interested bidders will be invited to submit a formal bid, outlining their plans and visions for hosting FEI World Championships in 2022.

  • November 2019 – Allocation of FEI World Championships at the in-person Board meeting at the FEI General Assembly in Moscow (RUS). All bids will be fully evaluated over the Spring/Summer of 2019.

Questions concerning the bid process can be sent to bidding@fei.org.

21 young dressage horses are ready for Danish Warmblood Spring Auction

An attractive collection is ready for the Spring Auction during Danish Warmblood stallion show taking place from 6 - 10 March.

Focus horse HESSELHØJ DOWNTOWN

Sex: Stallion - Born: 2016 - Height: 167 cm

In Hesselhøj Downtown you will find the complete stallion, an absolute joy to the eye. A relaxed walk, the most beatiful “up hill” canter and a trot that is best compared to angelic singing, this horse masters all the gaits with little to no comparison. He is a horse not easily forgotten. Hesselhøj Downtown is out of a damline with medals, his mother as awarded with silvermedal and his GD is Kabooki, elite and silver medal winning mare, who also mothered the B-dressage horse Paso Double and the bronze medal winning mare, Picota.

Hesselhøj Downtown is selected for the 2019 Danish Warmblood licensing.

From the pre-selection this young Donkey Boy son was showing himself as a clear copy of his successful sire. This boy looks like a top price for the auction.

Positive horse owners and riders

“This year there has been a huge and positive support for the auction, a lot of horse owner attended from the start of November last year when we started searching for horses online. Dennis Fisker and I has since November been on the road all over Denmark, we have been talking to a lot of horse owners and seen a lot horses. Some horses selected straight away, and some horses we’ve selected for Danish Warmblood talent stable, where we have been following the horses over a period of time to confirm and ensure the development towards the final selection for the auction.

The entire selection has been very positive as everyone has been working for the best results, and the combination with Michael Højgaard and Dennis Fisker as the men on the ground giving the riders advices, in order to optimise the preparation and education of the young horses towards the auction.

We are very proud about this collection and its been a great experience with this cooperation between, horse owners, riders and our auction team,” tells Louise Ringsbo one of the responsible for the selection of the horses for the auction.

Possiblility to try the horses before the auction

The auction team is ready for your questions and will try to provide you with all the informations you need before the auction. And the team will also be ready for you, if your interested in trying some of the horses already now before they arrive for the auction. Feel free to contact Louise Ringsbo - auktion@varmblod.dk/ +45 61 67 94 93.

The final videos will be available Friday.

New very exciting stallion from KWPN licensing for Blue Hors

News at Blue Hors today

New super young stallion for the stallion collection

At the KWPN licensing in s´Hertogenbosch we purchased a very interesting young stallion - Blue Hors Livius

Beautiful confirmation with three very good gaits, and for the licensing he showed a very good overview.

The sire Gotcha-Utopia by Ziesto was licensed at KWPN in 2014, the same year he did his performance test with 80 points. As 4 year old he became 4th in the Pavo Cup final and won later same year KHNS championship for 4 year old horses. The grand sire Ziesto has been successful with Hans Peter Minderhoud winning Grand Prix.

From his bloodlines he is very interesting, as his pedigree via Gotcha-Utopia and Ziesto goes back to Lancet by Wenzel I. Lancet participated at two Olympic Games. In 2004 in Athens he became individual no 11 with Imke Schellekens-Bartels, while he became individual no 7 with British Emma Hindle in Hong Kong 2008.

The dam Winoa by the "stempel" stallions Jazz x Flemmingh, is a very exciting mare. She did her mare performance test with a total of 90,5 points, which only very few mares has done over the last 20 years. Furthermore she has won Z-dressage.

The mark from the mare performance test:

Walk: 8,5

Trot: 9,5

Canter: 9,0

Self carriage/balance: 9,5

Ride ability/potential: 9,0

Potential as dressage horse: 9,0

Total score 90,5 points

The dam line has produced more licensed stallions as Bacio, Hassan, Also and IDS. Furthermore there are more sportshorses from the dam line in both dressage and jumping. The grand dam by Flemmingh is KWPN Elite mare.

Blue Hors Livius will be presented for Danish Warmblood licensing in March, and he will also be presented for Oldenburg Verband and Hannoveraner Verband in 2019.

3 exciting young stallions getting ready for the new season

The foreign breeding societies has already made their decisions and now we are just waiting for Danish Warmblood licensing taking place from 6 - 10 March in Herning.

The Danish breeders will again this year for sure have some of the best stallions to choose from, and among them many new stallions and very exciting bloodlines.

One of the very progressive and enthusiastic stallion owners is Norwegian Kristin Andresen, owner of Danish Warmblood gold medal stallion Hesselhøj Donkey Boy, and the two Hanoverian stallions Romeo and Premium stallion De L´Or.

This year Kristin Andresen will, in cooperation with Danish stallion station Katrinelund and Noagaard riders Sophie Christensen and Jan Møller Christensen, bring two new top youngsters for Herning.

The 4 year old Tophøjs Tebaldo - top mover and colt of the year in Danish Warmblood 2015, and additionally the 3 year old Hanoverian Premium stallion Duke, which showed himself in a convincing style from first step to the appointment as a Premium stallion at the Hanoverian licensing.

The third very interesting stallion for Kristin Andresen this year is Dario. He was also appointed as Premium stallion in Hannover late last year.

The plan for Dario has already been made, and he will stay in Germany to prepare for the spring stallion performance test under Tessa Frank, and he will be available via State Stud Celle, and they are of course very pleased to be able to offer a top Premium stallion by Dancier for the German breeders, as Dancier passed away in 2017 after a severe colic attack. Furthermore is the plan that Tessa Frank is going to try to qualify Dario for the Bundeschampionate.

Dario was spotted by the very experienced Dr. Kerstin Klieber from Dressurstall Sandbrink as a foal at the Hanoverian foal auction, and he was prepared for the licensing in Verden by Arnd Schwierking, where Kristin purchased him over the auction. And Dr. Kerstin Klieber told H2R: “Dario has always shown great qualities and was also a foal really swinging through his body when moving, and I´m very pleased for State Stud Celle that he will be offered through them for the German breeders.”

Solid tests from top 3 today

Top 3 combinations with good over all qualities today and no major technical issues.

For Marcus Hermes with his just 9 year old Zinq Abegglen FH it was the decision from today’s judge at H French Prain which kept the them away from the top of the podium..

Abegglen brings super qualities for the future and for sure a horse to keep an eye on.

Star field with international horses Lollipop, Delatio and Wasabi OLD with their new riders

A quick look at today’s start list with international horses with new riders.

The 15 year old gelding Lollipop by Lord Sinclair / Welt Hit I moved back in November last year to Helgstrand Dressage (former competed by British Emile Faurie), more precisely as a Grand Prix schoolmaster for Marianne Helgstrand.

Back in the spring 2016 Andreas Helgstrand purchased Deep Impact as a 40-year-old birthday present for his wife Marianne Helgstrand, but they never really fit each other, and short time after Severo Jurado Lopez took over the ride and they became a very successful international combination together. About the new partnership with Lollipop Marianne Helgstrand tells: “I’m very happy with Lollipop, we have now been together a few month and today was our first start together. He is really my dream of a Grand Prix schoolmaster, I’m really happy with our debut victory today, and of course I still have a lot to learn at this level,” tells Marianne.

And it was not the only horse Marianne made her debut with at Inter II level today. Her long time partner 10 year old Super Mario by For Compliment did also step into this level with a very nice performance.

Malaysian Qabil Ambak who recently purchased the stallion Delatio (former ridden by Patrik Kittel) also made their debut together today, like Blue Hors rider Nanna Merrald with Wasabi OLD, former competed by Allan Grøn.

More than just the scores

Among the judges for today’s national Intermediaire II was Christine Winther Prip at M, and H2R caught her after the class for a bit more than just facts from the scoreboard about some of today’s combinations.

Lollipop: “Lovely very active and lightfooted horse with highlights in beautiful passage with nice angles. For some moments the trot becomes a bit tense and the trot becomes a bit passage for some moments. Tensions for the series with a bit crop high for the first change in the two times, and kicks for the first change for the one times. A very interesting new combination just need a bit more experience in the arena together.”

Super Mario: “A bit unfortunate start where Super Mario gets big eyes at the beginning with some tensions. Super nice lateral work with beautiful expression and shoulder freedom, good passage, the piaffe lacking a bit more quickness and balance, becomes a bit passage like, but very positive picture with many highlights.”

Adrenalin Firfod: “Elegant and lightfooted, unfortunately lacking bit more forward flow for the piaffe/passage tours, as the basic qualities are quite good for both the piaffe and passage, nice pirouettes.”

Wasabi OLD: “Very correct and solid performance. Wasabi is with a bit long topline and the distance for the hindlegs to be able to be under the gravity is a difficult, but Nanna does a great job and keeps Wasabi active with nice flow with good pirouettes and nice two times.”

Delatio: “An impressive horse in the arena - makes a great picture. It was obvious that it is a pretty new partnership. Very active passage which sometimes shows some tensions, errors creeping into both series. Looks like a very interesting partner for Qabil when they get some more experience together.”

Blue Hors Zatchmo: “Looks like a horse without any weaknesses, very nice half passes, super nice push from hind for the extensions, lovely ground cover for piaffe/passage, but becomes a bit insecure, but showing beautiful moments.”

Hønnerups Driver: (Kasprzak Dressage rider Josefine Hoffmann just moved into U25) “Beautiful debut from Josefine and Driver. Bit cautious start where it is obvious that Josefine does not want to make any pressure, but they are both “developing” during the test. Unfortunately Driver is loosing one hindleg for the pirouettes right, but a very nice test and doing a beautiful passage at the final centerline.”

Aston Martin: “Does the job, but lacking more natural go and looks a bit unwilling throughout the test even though he is doing his job. Nice piaffe and passage tours.”

“A class with many nice horses, but still a bit green at this level - a lot to be pleased about”, tell Christine Prip.

Quater Back Junior and Nicolas Wagner winner of CDI3 GP today in Le Mans

boulerie.png

Comeback victory

The now just 10 year old Quater Back Junior and Nicolas Wagner did a very nice come back today. The combination has not been at start since last year in Cappeln, where they showed a fantastic debut year. Today they showed a nice effortless test, easy piaffe/passage tours, nice series, bit unbalance pirouettes, but nice over all picture and 72,109% victory.

Another youngster just 9 year old Zinq Abegglen FH by Ampere / Carabas made his international debut late last year as just 8 year in November in Oldenburg after a success through the prestigious Louisdor Preis (GP for 8-10 year old horses). He brings a lovely easy and effortless picture for the demanding piaffe and passage tours, today lacking more relaxation for the walk tour, and a small misunderstanding into the final piaffe, but catches nicely afterwards.

KWPN stallion Expression N.O.P. with Diederik van Silfhout showed a solid test with a few issues, but the overall picture lacking the high quality as the stallion shows very little push from hind throughout the entire test. Clear passage and piaffe from very active front legs.

Danish Warmblood horses

Among the 27 starters three of them were Danish Warmblood horses. Rossetti by Blue Hors Romanov / Midt-West Ibi-Light bred by Elsebeth Lykke Andersen, Nærum DEN with Finish rider Henri Rouste. The pair made their international debut last year and Rouste showed Rossetti two times. In Denmark Rossetti was former ridden and edcated by Jan Møller Christensen and part of DWB Young Horses in Verden as both 6 year old and 7 year old. Rossetti shows a lot of quality for the entire trot tour, unfortunately with two times canter for the half pass to right today, and for the canter tour some tensions are creeping in. They finish as no 7 with 69,152%.

Huracan by Blue Hors Hotline / Blue Hors Don Schufro bred by Lars Christensen ridden by Japanese Hiroyuki Kitahara. Looked a bit tense from outside the white fence, but showed a nice but for some moment bit cautious test with good control. 67,935%

A new international combination is the 11 year old Danish Warmblood gelding Zigzag by Blue Hors Zack / Blue Hors Don Schufro bred by Bjarne and Astrid Risvig, Billund DEN. Zigzag is ridden by Swiss rider Gilles Ngovan. Back in 2017 they did two international competitions in small tour and today they made their international debut in big tour scoring 62,022%. In general no exercise weaknesses but of course they lack both routine and timing for the demanding test.

FEI issues guidelines on equine influenza outbreak

unnamed.png

FEI PRESS RELEASE

The FEI has issued guidelines to the equestrian community to protect horses from and prevent transmission of equine influenza, following confirmed outbreaks of the virus in Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Nigeria, United Kingdom and the United States of America since the beginning of the year.

Equine influenza is a highly contagious virus which causes respiratory disease in horses. The virus is endemic to most countries in the world and outbreaks can have a severe impact on the equine industry, potentially resulting in restrictions on horse movement and cancelled events.

“Vaccinating horses against equine influenza is key to combating the spread of equine influenza,” FEI Veterinary Director Göran Åkerström said. “It is important that all horses are vaccinated, regardless of whether or not they compete or come into contact with other horses, but there are also biosecurity measures that should be put in place, including best hygiene practices.”

All FEI horses must have an up-to-date vaccination history in their passports and checks are carried out on entry to all FEI events.

The air-borne virus can spread up to two kilometres, depending on the environmental conditions, and can be easily transmitted between horses that are in close contact, such as attending events, group training and hunting, or between vaccinated and unvaccinated horses in the home yard.

Any horse that displays any signs of illness should not leave their home yard. This also applies to any horse that has been in contact with a horse or horses that have equine influenza.

“This year we are seeing a return of the Clade 1 virus in infected horses. Vaccinated horses have suffered only mild clinical signs of the disease and recovered quickly, but unvaccinated horses have been much more severely affected”, FEI Veterinary Advisor Caterina Termine said. “The key message is, get your horse vaccinated, monitor horse health extremely closely and call your veterinarian if you have any concerns.”

The FEI’s comprehensive question and answer document on equine influenza is available here. Please visit FEI Campus for a course on Equine Influenza: A Horse Owners Guide.

High light of the stallion performance test in Münster-Handorf was Jovian with top score of 9,08

Screen+Shot+2019-02-06+at+21.51.20.jpg

Today with final day at 2 day sport test in Münster-Handorf

Test rider was ones again Philipp Hess and comments/advices during the testing was made from Sebastian Heinze.

The first day doing a test with own rider where Jovian and Eva Möller showed an outstanding qualities, and today the test rider Philipp Hess clearly enjoyed his testing while rewarded Jovian with a clear 10.

Some of the comments from the judges were:

“We are asking ourselves why doesn´t the spectators applaud even more, it does not get any better. A 5 year old horse always in balance and uphill, swinging through the body for the trot. In canter clear uphill with volume and high ability for collection. A horse with all possibilities. The walk could show a bit more spaciousness.”

And from today’s test riding:

“It is an outstanding stallion. The stallion goes with forward search, push and elasticity. When the rider asking the stallion to come back he just shows his ability for the future passage, so much potential, in an always very nice selfcarriage. The test rider was also excited about Jovian - it is pure fun to ride such a stallion. The walk need to be with more over track, but still active with good quality.”

Gaitano, Escamillo and Tesla

Gaitano - ones again a top presentation and preparation from Beatrice Buchwald which made today’s 4 year old winner.

Both Escamillo and Tesla with big expectations. From H2R point of view a bit harsh judging of Escamillo from the test with own rider, as both rider and horse clearly were a bit affected by the “pressure”. Without doubt a future top stallion.

Tesla with Helen Langehanenberg did not really live up to H2R expectations. He seems a bit hurried for the trot work and does unfortunately not at the moment bring the stallion format.

Planer for årgang 2020

“Vi skal selvfølgelig lige se årets afkom inden vi tager den endelige beslutning, men vi forventer at bruge følgende hingste hvis sæden er ok og tilgængelig:”

  • Grand Galaxy Win / Don Romantic

  • Governor / Sandro Hit

  • For Dance / Tuschinski

Hingstekåringen i Herning?

VIDEO - Dante Weltino offspring secured for Helgstrand Dressage

NEWS at Helgstrand Dressage today

Fantastic gaits, impressive balance, active hind legs and masculine expression - this is exactly what characterizes the new stallion, that Helgstrand Dressage has purchased; Kardieno by Dante Weltino OLD/Parcival. A combination of the best genes, a stallion that for sure catches the eye when he enters the arena.

- We are delighted with the purchase of this 4-year-old stallion. Every day I see top horses, but this stallion is so unique and we look forward to offer him as part of our stallion collection to our breeders, said Andreas Helgstrand proudly.

Kardieno impressed the spectators already at the 2018 KWPN stallion licensing and many were waiting with excitement for him to enter the arena this year. High-set, elegant and with powerful gaits. At the KWPN stallion licensing he was presented by Bart Veeze from the Netherlands.

For the many breeders who have secured a ticket to Helgstrand Dressage and Paul Schockemöhle's stallion show in Verden this Friday and for the people visiting this year's Danish Warmblod Stallion Licensing in Herning really have something to look forward to.

- We actually wanted to make it a surprise, but it can be a difficult to keep the enthusiasm for ourselves and we also think that the breeders should have something to look forward to, said Andreas with a smile.

Kardieno has been approved in KWPN, after finishing his performance test with a high score. Not only does he look like his father, the impressive Dante Weltino, who qualified for the German Bundeschampionat as both 5-year and 6-year-old with Therese Nilshagen, he also possesses his quality. As a 7-year-old, Dante Weltino made his debut with Therese in S-dressage and he won his first Grand Prix as only 8 years old. Since then, they have achieved numerous victories and places at international Grand Prix level and among the highlights to mention; winning team bronze at the 2017 European Championship in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Kardieno is bred by Janneke Gnodde from Terschelling, the Netherlands.
