Strong error free Grand Prix Special performance from Atterupgaards Cassidy and Cathrine Dufour

IMG_8849.jpg

10% ahead

Exercise by exercise Dufour is just collecting valuable points all the way. It is obvious that Cathrine wanted to show a better test than the Grand Prix yesterday - and she did. As Cathrine told after her test: “today I was 100% in control and I’m very pleased about our performance”.

Atterupgaards Cassidy DEN - superb halt, good diagonal, good flow for half pass left, nice into passage at C, very nice in and out of extensions with expressive passage tours, good half pass right, superb walk tour, active piaffe at the spot, loosing tiny activity at end of 2nd piaffe but nice on the spot, bit tense transition to canter, nice half passes, super 2 times, super 1 times, power extension, super control and balance pirouettes, good 1 times, good transition to trot, nice long side, super nice final centerline, good halt.

Aston Martin DEN - good halt, direct forward, nice diagonal, small stumble at the short side, good half pass left, good regular passage, nice back from extension to passage, nice flow half pass right, smooth passage/extensions, good relaxation for extended walk, bit early start 1st piaffe, bit resistance also for 2nd piaffe but good rhythm, tension for transition to canter, small issue for change between canter half passes, good 2 times, good 1 times, good extended canter, nice sit for 1st pirouette, error for 1 times, good 2nd pirouette, nice extension at long side, lack bit more go for final piaffe.

Gammelenggårds Easy DEN - good halt, becomes a bit hectic at the diagonal need more uphill frame, good half pass to right, good transition to passage at C bit swinging hind, could be a bit sharper on the letters, bit unbalanced into half pass right, small tensions hind for passage, extended walk could show a bit more suppleness, good collected walk, lack bit energy for 1st piaffe, better 2nd piaffe, tense transition to canter, good zigzag canter, bit tense hind for 2 times, good 1 times, bit big pirouettes, just 7 changes at centerline?, good come more back from extension at long side, good final centerline.

Big win for Dufour with Cassidy and huge imprint from the other Danish combinations in today's CDI3 Grand Prix at Aalborg Dressage Event

Atterupgaards Cassidy and Cathrine Dufour

Atterupgaards Cassidy and Cathrine Dufour

Sharp Cassidy and Dufour even with a few minor issues today. The overall picture was sharp, with power, and even more espression for passage and piaffe. For the piaffe itself it looked with more sit and more lift in the forehand.

Nanna Merrald with Sådan Que showed also a very strong test. Easy effortless all the way, just the swinging one times makes the picture a bit unclear.

Helene Melsen show her stallion Aston Martin more motivated as we’ve seen him lately. Less switching tail and not crop high for the series.

Betina Jæger with a “new” Grand Prix partner Heartbreaker. A lot to like, with very good basic qualities and of course some minor communication issues.

Trine Mittag Jensen with Gammelenggårds Easy showed her best performance ever. Much better overall picture with the not high hindlegs all the time, good sit in the piaffe tours. Looks like less is more for her.

Signe Kirk Kristiansen and Her Highness O gives a nice and effortless impression. Not over ridden, but for the piaffe tours it just look like that Her Highness needed a bit more help from the rider today.

H2R comments during the test:

Aston Martin DEN - good halt, nice diagonal, nice side picture short side, good balance for half passes, best carriage for right, good halt with rein back, nice diagonal, good transition to passage, good transitions, piaffe lack bit more energy, good passage, nice extended walk, good collected walk, good into passage, becomes a bit hind the aides for 2nd piaffe, good 2 times, good extension nice collection and change, good zigzag, nice 1 times, lost control a bit out 1st pirouette, 2nd well managed, lack more flow for transition to trot, good diagonal, good centerline.

Jonstrupgårdens Cocio and Lisbet Seierskilde

First dressage competition with a sunny and very windy start of this years first Danish international Event - Aalborg Dressage Event.

Danish victory

An errorfree test made today’s victory for Lisbet and Cocio, even though Cocio showed some tensions in the body throughout the test Lisbet managed to keep her focused all the way, while Michael and Santino unfortunately missed the victory with an error at the begin of the 3 times.

Bit too windy

The sharp mare Raquel was a bit too motivated for some parts of today’s test and that kept her out of the top of the field today. They finished 7th with 67,029%.

Præsteskovens Raquel DEN - well balanced expressive trot tour, small unbalance for shoulder in, good walk pirouettes could be a bit more centered, good extended walk could should a bit more let go, bit unsteady contact half pass right, active 1st pirouette bit big, 2nd bit better but lack bit more control out, nice 4 times, tense 3 times, error end extended canter, rider stops and corrects the error.

Screen+Shot+2019-05-15+at+13.30.19.jpg

Today with final testing day at 14-days stallion performance test in Schlieckau

Viva Gold by Vivaldi / For Romance I (direct damline of Weihegold OLD) showed superb rideability, nice in the contact in a natural frame, strong uphill spacious canter (10), super quality of the walk (10), and still missing some strength and straightness in the body for the trot work (7,5) - H2R fully agree about today’s marks. This is gonna be a very interesting stallion to follow in the future.

Danish Lone Jørgensen with talented Danish Warmblood mare Down Under

Corinna and Lone Jørgensen - private photo

Corinna and Lone Jørgensen - private photo

Busy and exciting new life

Back in 2012 former Olympic Danish team rider Lone Jørgensen, her husband Uli Eggers and their daughter Monica moved to Australia.

During the years Lone has been building up a real solid business teaching some of the dressage entusiast in Australia. Among some of her clients is Pauline Carnovale, she has more talented horses and is riding Grand Prix herself.

The Danish Warmblood mare Corinna by Crelido / Loran born 2007 bred by Stutteri Hove, Gitte Søgaard and Poul Hove, Denmark, was purchased by Pauline and her husband Frank Carnovale about 4-5 years ago in The Netherlands. Pauline herself has been successful at small tour level with Corinna, but the further step for Grand Prix with Corinna was not quite obvious, and therefore Lone got the possibility to train Corinna.

As Lone tells, its been a challenging journey, but after 10 month both the piaffe and one times is getting there, and Lone is happy being back in business with a horse showing huge potential and qualities for the future, and she is of course very thankful to Pauline and Frank for giving her this opportunity. This weekend they just made their debut at national Intermediaire II level with 72,3% and 73,8%. Newt step ii national Grand Prix in June.

Here you find an article H2R made back in Dec 2015 about Lone Jørgensen and the move to Australia (in Danish).
