Dujardin getting ready for FEI World Cup season 2019/2020

PRESS RELEASE - CDI-W LYON

THE FEI DRESSAGE WORLD CUP: THE CLASH OF THE QUEENS

Their male counterparts had better watch out! The FEI Dressage World Cup leg in Lyon, organised as part of the Longines Equita Lyon Concours Hippique International (30 October to 3 November), will offer its loyal public a line-up of riders, and in particular of lady riders, which has rarely been seen at a French dressage show.

Charlotte Dujardin at the FEI World Cup leg in Lyon for the first time

The last (and only) time she appeared in the main arena at Lyon-Eurexpo was back in 2014, at the FEI Dressage World Cup Final, organised by Sylvie Robert’s team. And it was in Lyon that the English rider, at that time partnered by her legendary Valegro, won her first Final. Charlotte Dujardin, two-time winner of the title (Lyon 2014, Las Vegas 2015), three-time Olympic champion (team and individual medallist in London in 2012 and individual medallist in Rio in 2016), World champion in 2014, and five times gold medallist in a European Championship between 2011 and 2015, has made the 2019-2020 FEI Dressage World Cup her objective this winter. After a curtailed European Championship in 2019, where with Mount St John Freestyle she nevertheless beat her own record in the Grand Prix (81.91%), ‘Queen Charlotte’ is aiming to qualify her young ten-year-old mare for the 2020 Final in Las Vegas. Since her titles in Lyon in 2014 and Las Vegas in 2015, Charlotte Dujardin has only competed in three FEI World Cups: London in 2015 and in 2018, and Amsterdam in 2016. This season she should appear on at least three occasions, including Lyon.

Is Isabell Werth, one of our most loyal riders, heading for a fifth victory in Lyon?

Just as the Lyon ring brought success for the English rider Charlotte Dujardin, other riders have succeeded her since 2014 and in particular Germany’s Isabell Werth. Winner of the FEI World Cup leg in Lyon in 2010, then in 2016, 2017 and 2018, this legend of equestrian sport has nothing but praise when speaking of the only French leg on the circuit. She was also the ‘patron’ of the candidacy of the show, when Sylvie Robert’s team was applying to the FEI to organise a Dressage World Cup. In 2019, the German team is sending another of its brilliant ambassadors in the form of Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, who won the bronze medal this summer at the European Championships, and will also be appearing at the Longines Equita Lyon Concours Hippique International. She will be riding Zaire-E, the horse with which she came second at the FEI World Cup leg in Budapest, at the end of September.

Serious competitors also to be found on the men’s side

Dutchman Hans Peter Minderhoud, the winner of the FEI Dressage World Cup Final in 2016, is expected in Lyon, along with his fifteen-year-old stallion, Glock’s Zanardi. Sweden’s Patrik Kittel, another horseman loyal to the Lyon leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup, will be riding his gelding Delaunay OLD, the horse with which he leapt up the world rankings this month (from the twentieth to the thirteenth position). The combination also won the FEI World Cup leg in Budapest, ahead of Jessica von Bredow-Werndl.

French riders headed up by Morgan Barbançon-Mestre

In the Hungarian World Cup leg in Budapest, Kittel was the winner, Germany’s Von Bredow- Werndl was second and Mestre came third. Riding Sir Donnerhall II OLD, she finished in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a record score for the combination: 77.75%! Morgan and ‘Gus’ (the affectionate nickname given to the stallion by his rider) will head up a major French delegation in Lyon. The audience at the Longines Equita Lyon Concours Hippique International will have the chance to show their support for Stéphanie Brieussel and Amorak, Anne-Sophie Serre and Actuelle de Massa, and Alexandre Ayache with Zo What.

Interesting to see which horses dominates the WBFSH World Ranking list

Daniel Bachmann Andersen test rider for Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championship 2020

IMG_9187.jpg

FEI World Ranking no 6 and no 11 is ready to test the best 5 year old Danish Warmblood horses at Young Horse Championship in Herning, taking place from 5 - 8 March 2020.

29 year old Danish international rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen from Danish Stud Blue Hors, will be ready to test the 24 best Danish Warmblood Young Horses at the Young Horse Championship in Herning.

Back in 2015 Bachmann started as rider by Blue Hors, and he has during the years been very successful educated more horses to Grand Prix level, and he is at the moment placed as no 6 with Blue Hors Zack and no 11 with Blue Hors Don Olymbrio at FEI World Ranking.

About the new challenge Daniel Bachmann Andersen tells: “ I’m looking very much forward to do this job. It´s gonna be really exciting to try so many high quality young horses. I will try to tell and explain about the education of the young horse, the different phases the young horse going through, and how some horses can be ready at a quite early stage, where others need more time to develop and learn which is not always a negative way for the further development.”

Danish Warmblood general manager Casper Cassøe Krüth is very pleased about having Daniel Bachmann for the test riding in 2020, and says: “Daniel is Denmarks highest ranked international rider at the moment, and through his great experience and successes Danish Warmblood are of course proud to wellcome Daniel for the test riding next year, and we are sure Daniel will give both the horses and the audience a very nice experience.”

Unghestechampionatet 2020 klar med nyt spændende format

IMG_8952.jpg

I B-finalen sidder 2 nye dommere klar. Rytterne rider 2 ad gangen på banen, med anvisninger fra dommerne (ligesom på 2. dagen), hvor der gives mundlige karakterer og point - ridelighed, kapacitet, skridt, trav og galop.

Flotte doteringer for begge finaler

Hele Unghestechampionatet sluttes af om søndagen med to præmieoverrækkelser for både de placerede heste i Unghestechampionatet som er blevet bedømt under testrytter, og de heste som er placeret i B-finalen.

Se de nye propositioner for Unghestechampionatet 2020 HER.

Danish Sanne Svendsen and Hannah Montana W with debut placement at CDI3 Grand Prix Special

Sanne Svendsen and her dancing partner Hannah Montana W - private photo.

A big step into the international arena

A surreal experience and a dream came true is the way Danish amateur rider Sanne Svendsen describes her weekend at CDI Flyinge. “It´s always been a dream entering the international scene and actually being here now felt a bit odd. I’m very pleased about our performance today and was a bit disappointed about our Grand Prix as I felt we were missing some more sharpness. I’m over the moon with todays placement and it really gives me the confidence to try this international level another time.”

“It´s been a great adventure being able to educate and develop Hannah Montana W all the way, with the best supervisor Cathrine Dufour,” tells Sanne.

Danish Sanne Svendsen and Danish Warmblood mare Hannah Montana W by Blue Hors Doolittle / Sydney bred by Henrik Wiborg made their international debut yesterday in the Grand Prix and were placed in todays CDI3 Grand Prix Special as no 4 with 69,276%.

Today’s winner Swedish Sandra Dahlin with her homebred mare Ichi brings a very special story. Many years ago Sandra and her mom brought a lottery during Scandinavium international horse event and won a mare. This mare Sandra started riding but unfortunately she got injured and they agreed having foal, this foal is today’s winner 13 year old Ichi by Boticelli / Donnerschlag. A very powerful mare with super qualities and expression all the way - winning score 73,255%. And what a fantastic reaction from Dahlin when finishing her top test.

For the top talented 8 year old mare Heiline´s Danciera the exercises for today’s debut at Grand Prix Special became a bit confusing, but nevertheless still with a lot of highlights and the top quality is obvious. Next international event for the young mare will be the CDI at Blue Hors in October.

Most expensive at Swedish Elite foal auction by Franklin sold for 340.000 Swedish kroner (31.700 euro)

Föl-217835-e-Franklin-Sandro-Hit.jpg

No 14 the colt by Franklin / Sandro Hit showed himself with extra quality already from the video presentation and he did not disappoint. He was sold to a costumer

2nd most expensive foal became no 12 by Total Hope / Ampere sold for 280.000 Swedish kroner (about 26.000 euro) - purchased by Danish Carina Cassøe Krüth and Petra Trabjerg.

Here you find the full list of auction prices in Swedish Kroner.

Danish Anne Troensegaard and Kipling TSF took CDI3 Intermediaire I freestyle victory Flyinge today

Every competition rider going into the arena to try to do their best, but knowing Anne Troensegaard she just not want to do her best, she also wants to win - and today she succeeded with top qualities.

Starting their test with canter pirouettes at the centerline and then showing lots of power for trot tour, the only minor issue was extended canter towards another pirouette where Kipling changed canter at the extension. Overall super balanced test with lots of qualities.

Her 9 year old Trakehner gelding Kipling TSF by Hofrat / Hohenstein bred by Peter Christensen, was very successful as a young horse, as he was part of the Danish team for World Championships Young Horses as both 6 year old and again as 7 year old where they won the bronze medal.

After an injury break Kipling and Anne are really back in business with today’s impressive 78,245% and with yesterday’s 3rd place at Prix Sct. Georg we can just look forward seeing them again, and next time will be at World Cup event in Herning DEN in the small tour.

More Danish success at 2nd place and 5th place

Danish Michael Søgaard and Slæbækgård´s Santino by Sir Donnerhall I / Carano bred by Dorthe Bak Himmelstrup won yesterday’s international Prix Sct. Georg and today they showed the same high qualities throughout their test.

Carina Cassøe Krüth brought her 7 year old Heiline´s Zackton by Zack / Come Back II, bred by Stutteri Heiline. It was his first ever international event and with yesterday’s 4th place and today’s 5th place he has entered the international small tours scene with style.

Slæbækgårds Santino and Michael Søgaard winner of CDI3 Prix Sct. Georg at Flyinge today

IMG_0943.jpg

Strong Danish combinations at Prix Sct. Georg

Danish Michael Søgaard and his Danish Warmblood gelding Slæbækgårds Santino showed a strong performance today. Super smooth and expressive trot tour in a good balance and with a nice frame all the way, the walk tour becomes a bit tense for the collected part, and lack a bit more suppleness and over track for the extension. Well managed canter tour with nice half pirouettes and good series except a small error going into the 4 times with the first change with parallel hind.

Also placed was Anne Troensegaard with trakehner gelding Kipling TSF. Anne is also showing great power for the trot tour in a nice self carriage and with nice suppleness, nice walk tour but both pirouettes lack bit more clear collection, for the canter tour Kipling was late on the aides for the change after half passes and for the 2nd pirouette Kipling lost the canter into the pirouette. Good series.

Another international debut ride for Carina Cassøe Krüth today, this time with the 7 year old Heiline´s Zackton, showing a smooth test without any technical issues. Zackton showing a good trot tour, nice walk with good relaxation, and a strong canter tour with huge ability for the pirouettes. Unfortunately like for Carina´s ride with Danciera american judge Anne Gribbons had her 5% lower than the highest score. (For the GP the difference between Gibbons and highest score was 6% - the other judges were at same level).

Stud Atterupgaard was represented with two horses, Atterupgaards Mahonia ridden by Swedish Pernilla Andre Hokfelt, owner Hamilton Horse. Same owner of the newly crowned Champion mare of the year at Danish Warmblood Atterupgaards Lady Hamilton by Dante Weltino. Atterupgaard rider Norwegian Selina Solberg Vittinghus was showing Atterupgaards Kawasaki, and for both horses a few minor issues kept them away from the top of the class.

A special mare showing the full package

“When you have a very talented young horse at your stable, there is no certainty for the full package”, tells Danish Grand Prix rider Carina Cassøe Krüth after her international Grand Prix victory today with the just 8 year old Danish Warmblood mare Heiline´s Danciera by Fürstenball / De Niro, bred by Stutteri Heiline and owned by Ingrid and Poul Thøgersen.

The black beautiful mare has already been very successful in the young horse classes together with Carina Cassøe Krüth. As 7-year-old she was winning the Danish national Young Horse Championship, and been part of the Danish Warmblood team and been in the final as 5 year old, 6 year old and 7 year old at World Championship for Young Horses.

“Already at the age of 6 Danciera showed how easy she took the new challenge for the flying changes, and when starting playing with the more collected trot the suspension for the passage was just there, and putting it together while working on small steps it became just a new and quite easy challenge. Going from a single flying change and slowly building up for the series seems to be a natural way of developing her. I feel very blessed having Danciera in my stable and looking forward developing her now at Grand Prix level, and I felt it would be good timing showing her at international level for the first time at Flyinge this weekend”, says Carina.

Danciera and Carina made their national debut at Grand Prix level at the end of August.
