Future young horse championships with top riders as part of the judging teams
The absolute top sport was of course the main thing, but said that the comments during each test at live stream by Zibrasport was just outstanding.
Daniel Bachmann Andersen was the anchorman, first with international judge Susanne Baarup for the 4 year old final and then with Daniels rider colleague Mette Svare Ehlers for 5 year old, 6 year old and 7 year old finals.
It just brought the entire championships into a higher level following the professional, very knowledgeable and super sharp comments. Daniel bringing his experience direct to the viewers together with the judging angle from first Susanne Baarup at 4 year old final, and then Mette Svare Ehlers bringing the theory, education scale, balance, tact, self carriage etc.
More times Daniel and Mette did not agree about the judging, and Daniel pointed out more specific issues that the judges didn't take into account when giving the points, or at least they did not point it out for the subsequent comments about each combination.
It was also very interesting to hear Daniel when he a few times got a bit annoyed about riders bringing their young horses for the finals when they rather should have kept them home in order to prepare or build them up for the job, than just bringing them along knowing they were not ready.
Also great with the extra eye for Grand Prix potential, and sometimes telling about which horses he would love to try, and for those not show the greatest potential today, but nevertheless showed clear basic paces and rideability, where Daniel pointed out the natural develop over time and through that, hopefully being able to make the horse more supple and showing more expression.
It is obvious that the top riders can bring something extra for the judging of the young horses, and they really have the words in their power when speaking / explaining from their own experiences.
For Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championship finals taking place during the stallion licensing in March 2020 where Daniel is going to do the test riding of the best 24 young horses, he will do his comments while riding each horse in Danish, and for the foreign audience it will be possible to listen to English speak (running translation of Daniels comments while testing each horse).
The absolute best horse sold to Spain for 140.000 euros.

For the commentator spots at live stream provided by Zibrasport were Danish international top rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen from stud Blue Hors and his former colleague breeding consultant Karsten Pedersen.
Daniel was very informative and clear in his opinion about each horse, giving a good explanation and adding his personal experiences. It was very interesting also to hear both Daniel and Karstens opinions about the entire format for these championships, as they were questioning about the differences in the judging from each qualifier, and then without 2nd round with selection before going into the finals.
The finals are the first indoor event for the young horses of the year, and for more riders it became kind of a challenge keeping the horses relaxed and focused on the job in the impressive surroundings.
A 2nd qualifier would for sure have been nice for the combinations not directly qualified for Sunday´s finals, while the young horses then got one more opportunity in the arena with the possibility to qualify for the final.
Helgstrand Dressage medal horses did not disappoint
When Mr. Helgstrand himself put on his competition clothes he is going for the victory. Today with a busy and successful day winning both preliminary tests for 5 year old and 6 year old.
5 year old
Danish Warmblood mare Queenparks Wendy by Sezuan / Soprano was dancing through the test without any technical issues. From H2R point of view the trot tour became a bit forced for some moments. The golden boy KWPN stallion Jovian came second today with a bit of tensions but still so much power and quality. Severo and Swedish bred Springbank II VH showed great form today with no marks under 9,0!
H2R Personal favorites Elverhøjs Raccolto by Sezuan / Sandro Hit with Meike Lang and Eternity by Escolar / Sir Donnerhall I with Cathrine Dufour came 5th and 10th today. Both girls showing their horses in the best way nice and easy, in a good balance and accurate all the way. Very disappointing scoring though for Eternity and Dufour the walk just scored with 6,0! and the rideability with only 8,8 - it clearly looked like a 10 as Eternity was very attentive, super balanced and all the way in a beautiful frame.

6 year old class with a strong top 3
Revolution and Andreas Helgstrand - photo credit: Lily Forado
Revolution and Helgstrand showed a strong performance with lot of power and well balanced. Still the flying changes are lacking a bit more fluency.
The stunning mare Atterupgaards Delorean with Selina Vittinghus in the saddle showed a super performance even though the overall all picture became with a bit of tensions.
Favour Gersdorf with Nadja Sloth also showed a strong performance without any technical issues. The weakest pace was the canter today.

THE FEI DRESSAGE WORLD CUP: THE CLASH OF THE QUEENS
Their male counterparts had better watch out! The FEI Dressage World Cup leg in Lyon, organised as part of the Longines Equita Lyon Concours Hippique International (30 October to 3 November), will offer its loyal public a line-up of riders, and in particular of lady riders, which has rarely been seen at a French dressage show.
Charlotte Dujardin at the FEI World Cup leg in Lyon for the first time
The last (and only) time she appeared in the main arena at Lyon-Eurexpo was back in 2014, at the FEI Dressage World Cup Final, organised by Sylvie Robert’s team. And it was in Lyon that the English rider, at that time partnered by her legendary Valegro, won her first Final. Charlotte Dujardin, two-time winner of the title (Lyon 2014, Las Vegas 2015), three-time Olympic champion (team and individual medallist in London in 2012 and individual medallist in Rio in 2016), World champion in 2014, and five times gold medallist in a European Championship between 2011 and 2015, has made the 2019-2020 FEI Dressage World Cup her objective this winter. After a curtailed European Championship in 2019, where with Mount St John Freestyle she nevertheless beat her own record in the Grand Prix (81.91%), ‘Queen Charlotte’ is aiming to qualify her young ten-year-old mare for the 2020 Final in Las Vegas. Since her titles in Lyon in 2014 and Las Vegas in 2015, Charlotte Dujardin has only competed in three FEI World Cups: London in 2015 and in 2018, and Amsterdam in 2016. This season she should appear on at least three occasions, including Lyon.
Is Isabell Werth, one of our most loyal riders, heading for a fifth victory in Lyon?
Just as the Lyon ring brought success for the English rider Charlotte Dujardin, other riders have succeeded her since 2014 and in particular Germany’s Isabell Werth. Winner of the FEI World Cup leg in Lyon in 2010, then in 2016, 2017 and 2018, this legend of equestrian sport has nothing but praise when speaking of the only French leg on the circuit. She was also the ‘patron’ of the candidacy of the show, when Sylvie Robert’s team was applying to the FEI to organise a Dressage World Cup. In 2019, the German team is sending another of its brilliant ambassadors in the form of Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, who won the bronze medal this summer at the European Championships, and will also be appearing at the Longines Equita Lyon Concours Hippique International. She will be riding Zaire-E, the horse with which she came second at the FEI World Cup leg in Budapest, at the end of September.
Serious competitors also to be found on the men’s side
Dutchman Hans Peter Minderhoud, the winner of the FEI Dressage World Cup Final in 2016, is expected in Lyon, along with his fifteen-year-old stallion, Glock’s Zanardi. Sweden’s Patrik Kittel, another horseman loyal to the Lyon leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup, will be riding his gelding Delaunay OLD, the horse with which he leapt up the world rankings this month (from the twentieth to the thirteenth position). The combination also won the FEI World Cup leg in Budapest, ahead of Jessica von Bredow-Werndl.
French riders headed up by Morgan Barbançon-Mestre
In the Hungarian World Cup leg in Budapest, Kittel was the winner, Germany’s Von Bredow- Werndl was second and Mestre came third. Riding Sir Donnerhall II OLD, she finished in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a record score for the combination: 77.75%! Morgan and ‘Gus’ (the affectionate nickname given to the stallion by his rider) will head up a major French delegation in Lyon. The audience at the Longines Equita Lyon Concours Hippique International will have the chance to show their support for Stéphanie Brieussel and Amorak, Anne-Sophie Serre and Actuelle de Massa, and Alexandre Ayache with Zo What.
3 intensive stallion pre-selection days starts tomorrow in Vechta

FEI World Ranking no 6 and no 11 is ready to test the best 5 year old Danish Warmblood horses at Young Horse Championship in Herning, taking place from 5 - 8 March 2020.
29 year old Danish international rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen from Danish Stud Blue Hors, will be ready to test the 24 best Danish Warmblood Young Horses at the Young Horse Championship in Herning.
Back in 2015 Bachmann started as rider by Blue Hors, and he has during the years been very successful educated more horses to Grand Prix level, and he is at the moment placed as no 6 with Blue Hors Zack and no 11 with Blue Hors Don Olymbrio at FEI World Ranking.
About the new challenge Daniel Bachmann Andersen tells: “ I’m looking very much forward to do this job. It´s gonna be really exciting to try so many high quality young horses. I will try to tell and explain about the education of the young horse, the different phases the young horse going through, and how some horses can be ready at a quite early stage, where others need more time to develop and learn which is not always a negative way for the further development.”
Danish Warmblood general manager Casper Cassøe Krüth is very pleased about having Daniel Bachmann for the test riding in 2020, and says: “Daniel is Denmarks highest ranked international rider at the moment, and through his great experience and successes Danish Warmblood are of course proud to wellcome Daniel for the test riding next year, and we are sure Daniel will give both the horses and the audience a very nice experience.”
I B-finalen sidder 2 nye dommere klar. Rytterne rider 2 ad gangen på banen, med anvisninger fra dommerne (ligesom på 2. dagen), hvor der gives mundlige karakterer og point - ridelighed, kapacitet, skridt, trav og galop.
Flotte doteringer for begge finaler
Hele Unghestechampionatet sluttes af om søndagen med to præmieoverrækkelser for både de placerede heste i Unghestechampionatet som er blevet bedømt under testrytter, og de heste som er placeret i B-finalen.
Se de nye propositioner for Unghestechampionatet 2020 HER.
