Dancing Dalera

It´s just a pleasure to watch Delera and Jessica dancing together. Tiny issues was just two not 100% square halts and a lost change at the beginning of the 9 one times at the centerline, small tensions for the series but at the same time with power and the rest was supple, effortless and powerful, combined with an always super frame.

Well Done de la Roche with most relaxed performance to date

For the Grand Prix Special Kittel for sure can be very satisfied about his effort together with Well Done. The top sensitive mare started the test with a good halt, bit tense diagonal and first extended trot, but from there you just get the feeling that they are just doing their own “trainings session” at home, with lovely supple half passe, smooth piaffe tours with super timing for the transitions, relaxed uphill series and well balanced pirouettes. The walk tour still need more relaxation and let go.

Kontestro Db shows talent and ability all the way

With just 10 year Kontestro Db is the youngest horse in the field. Often when watching the young Grand Prix horses it´s about getting more strength for the demanding exercises, for Kontestro it just look like a matter of “experience and kilometers” as he already got the entire top quality package - trot, canter, walk, piaffe and passage.

Entering the arena Konstetro looked hot, but from the halt where it was clear that his very experienced Finnish rider Henri Ruoste just gave him the time he needed to breath, halt, relax and go. Smooth expressive power trot tour, for the walk tour it looks like he is disturbed by an insect which also affected a bit into the first piaffe. The canter tour is solid and with top timing from Ruoste all the way - it look like you have to be very quiet up there.

Wrong course for Santa Kirchhoff - forgot the canter half passes

The 10 year old L´Arbuste OLD with Senta Kirchhoff showed a strong test with good qualities for the trot tour, passage and transitions, bit hold back walk tour, good piaffe tours, the issues for test came with a tense transition to canter from passage and lacking the final transition to collected trot at M as Senta was struggling to bring L´Arbuste back to trot. The wrong course became of course costly for the very talented combination.

Danish Warmblood foals in top of today’s 2nd online auction at Helgstrand - Schockemöhle - both with Zack / Schufro dam line.

Overall an auction with very good prices for the breeders from both Denmark and abroad, and the dressage foals sold to Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Great Britain.

Not surprisingly the very attractive filly by top foal producer Franklin with a full sister of Sezuan as her dam became the price highlight sold to a German buyer for 60.000 euro.

2nd most expensive was a Danish Warmblood colt by Springbank II / Zack / Don Schufro sold for 42.000 euro to

Smaller rusty moments for today’s Grand Prix in Hagen

The huge class with 27 combination was with both very established combinations and more inexperienced combinations. The overall picture was really nice, but the long competition break was of course also affecting the last top timing in the arena for most of the combinations.

Among the young horses both Kontestro Db and L´Arbuste OLD were showing top qualities with just a few insecure moments.

Dalera BB / Jessica von Bredow-Werndl - super smooth floating supple trot tour, trend 80%, dancing passage, huge sit for piaffe, nice transitions, super relaxed walk tour, bit tense collected walk, bit unbalanced moments 2nd piaffe huge sit, nice 2 times, super extended canter, small unbalance for zigzag, error end 1 times, top balanced pirouettes, nice diagonal, smooth final.

Duke of Britain / Frederic Wandres - super power start, good half passes, bit tense rein back, tiny uneven steps for the passage, huge sit for piaffe, good walk tour, active 2nd piaffe with good transitions, ok 2 times could be more through from hind, bit unbalanced zigzag, bit small hind 1 times, 2nd pirouette bit unbalanced, good diagonal, bit unbalanced out of piaffe.

Well done de la Roche / Patrik Kittel - nice halt, tense diagonal, lovely expressive half passes lack bit flow forward, better diagonal, good passage, bit cautious piaffe, good transitions, bit short good walk, lack bit more activity for piaffe, nice 2 times, good extended canter, smooth supple zigzag, nice 1 times, lack more carriage for 1st pirouette, 2nd super nice, bit tense diagonal, lovely final centerline, superb halt.

Next generation of top horses

Kontestro DB / Henri Ruoste - super well balanced trot tour with top expression, active piaffe at the spot with tiny tensions for the transitions, good walk tour, nice active 2nd piaffe, bit tense into canter, good 2 times bit tense, bit conservative extended canter, count error and small tensions for zigzag, good 1 times, well managed centerline with pirouettes - all about support and being quiet in the saddle, strong final centerline.

L´Arbuste OLD / Senta Kirchhoff - Power trot tour lots of expression and suppleness for half passes, easy in and out of piaffe expressive passage, bit cautious extended walk tour, nice regular steps for piaffe at the spot, could show more under the gravity balance, nice into canter, super nice 2 times, good extended canter, nice zigzag counting error lack bit more uphill trend, nice straight 1 times, well balanced controlled pirouettes, super into trot at M, power diagonal, small tensions for final centerline.

Danish combinations unfortunately with to many mistakes for the canter tours

Bakkely’s Onandt / Lone Bang Larsen - super halt, good diagonal, supple swinging half passes with good crossing, good halt with nice rein back, nice into passage small blip starting the piaffe early, bit cautious piaffe, nice walk tour, lack bit more forward search for 2nd piaffe, good 2 times, bit small change after extended canter, zigzag lack bit more forward flow, error 1 times, bit big unbalanced pirouettes, good final centerline. 68,565%

Addict de Massa / Anna Kasprzak - nice halt, power diagonal, supple half passes with good crossing, super halt with nice rein back, good passage, super nice active passage, bit cautious transition out, super relaxation for extended walk with good over track, good collected walk, bit tensions for 2nd piaffe, good into canter at E, super nice 2 times, well balanced zigzag, 1 change with parallel hind for 1 times, lost balance into 1st pirouette, 2nd good control, bit tense passage, super nice final piaffe, bit tense final halt. 68,478%

Strong young Danish combinations for CDI Hagen

Both Danish juniors and young riders were ready this morning for their first competition after the corona break.

3rd to start by the juniors was 18 year old Danish rider Kristian Würtz Green with his just 8 year old Danish Warmblood gelding Bovbjergs Zhivago by Blue Hors Romanov / Blue Hors Don Schufro. This event is international debut for Zhivago, and he looked very well prepared as Kristian was able to show the long legged gelding in a very nice closed and light frame all the way very attentive and obedient. Super nice flow and balance, only tiny thing is the canter itself which need a bit more collection/strength for some moments, but without any technical issues and keeping the balance nicely for the exercises.

Positive and effortless riding, and of course a very happy rider. “It was our first international competition together, and we’ve used the corona break training and building up the horses, and recently we were out at the national event in Hjallerup preparing for our international debut. Zhivago feels really relaxed and happy here and coped very well with the long trip. It is really great to be back at the competitions, and even more exciting bringing my young horse and then being able to win was kind of a dream debut,” tells Kristian.

FEI PRESS RELEASE

FEI and ClipMyHorse.TV join forces on equestrian live streaming

The FEI and ClipMyHorse.TV (CMH.TV) have entered into an agreement that is set to change the future landscape of the global governing body’s live streaming services to millions of equestrian fans worldwide. CMH.TV is one of the world’s leading providers of live streams for equestrian sports.

“We are very excited with this new venture which is the result of open and productive conversations with the founder of ClipMyHorse.TV Mr Klaus Plönzke,” FEI President Ingmar De Vos said.

“This is the first time the FEI will have an equity stake in a company which will allow us to actively contribute to shaping the narrative around the coverage of equestrian events.

“By bringing together our collective strengths, we can work towards the development of one combined live streaming service that provides high quality event coverage and a broader range of content to fans.”

FEI.TV has traditionally live-streamed all major FEI Series and Championships, with an extensive range of replays, special features and historic events coverage available live and on-demand. Subscribers can now view coverage of international, national and local equestrian events, with commentary provided in English as well as local languages. They will also have access to the largest archive of equestrian video content and an extensive database of information on athletes and horses.

“ClipMyHorse.TV’s comprehensive platform and their extensive experience with production and streaming services within this sector will allow for an improved viewing experience for FEI.TV customers, while the look and feel of FEI.TV will, at least for the moment, stay the same,” FEI Commercial Director Ralph Straus said.

“The depth of the combined offering is unique and will provide equestrian fans access to a wide range of events all under one roof, from top international events to local competitions, together with online equestrian magazines, documentaries and other relevant programming.”

Currently the FEI.TV online television platform is providing coverage of past events and special equestrian features free of charge to everyone while live sport is on hold.

“The market for OTT and streaming services has grown substantially and we have seen an exponential rise in online viewing,” CEO of CMH.TV Markus Detering explained.

“We created the CMH.TV platform in 2007 with the express aim of making horse sport events across the world accessible to fans and followers everywhere and at any time.

“By pooling our resources with the FEI, we will be able to offer equestrian fans a more in-depth and enriching experience that will make the sport even more attractive and to a wider global audience.”

Sport and breeding makes it possible when doing the combination of top foal producer Franklin with the full sister of Sezuan. Said that the pedigree does not make it itself, but by this filly you definitely get what you been dreaming of as a breeder.

Springbank II VH is a stallion always presenting himself with power and expression and with this boy you definitely will have a future top horse. Expressive, uphill and already showing super suppleness in all 3 gaits. A must for an international rider.

Louisdor Preis finals for Greek Air with Emma Kanerva and First Romance with Dorothee Schneider

Louisdor.jpg

Hubertus Schmidt & Denoix PCH won today’s Louisdor qualifier, but as they already qualified at Hagen today’s no 2 and 3 are ready for the final.

No doubt Emma Kanerva with Greek Air were ready for the final with a very smooth performance, but from H2R point of view Fano and Jasmin Schaudt were for sure not scored as they deserved today. They ended up as no 5.

1 - VIDEO Denoix / Hubertus Schmidt - easy obedient test, smooth trot tour with expressive passage good transitions and active piaffe tours, bit tense extended walk tour need more let go, super well balanced canter tour.

Nr. 2 - Greek Air / Emma Kanerva - super smooth effortless test with this 9 year old gelding. No technical issues, nice flow forward with positive attitude all the way.

Nr. 3 - First Romance / Dorothee Schneider - good trot tour, passage lacking more clear elevation, good piaffe trend, good walk tour, some tensions for the canter tour with error for 2 times, 2nd pirouette with best balance.

Today’s final was not surprisingly with the 8 year old stallion Villeneuve and Dorothee Schneider at top of the podium, as they already at yesterday's “warm-up” test showed great qualities and won. Dorothee Schneider shows an effortless test with the big impressive stallion, and manage all the time to keep a well balanced and easy picture.

Villeneuve / Dorothee Schneider - bit unbalanced into halt, good power diagonal, smooth half passes, power diagonal, nice transition into walk, marching extended walk, super collected walk with nice pirouettes, well balanced canter pirouettes, change after 1st by himself, good canter half passes, good series lacking a bit more uphill expression, bit tense rein back, good final halt.

2nd today was the Vivaldi son Vainqueur with Hubertus Schmidt, well managed all the way but the big stallion is clearly lacking some more strength.

Today judge Christoph Hess was subsequently commenting each ride for the audience, and as usual with super details and often with development from former performances.

Here you find the entire results.

DRESSAGE

FEI eDressage™ online assessment platform goes live

The FEI has launched the FEI eDressage™ Online platform in partnership with Black Horse One (BHO) and SAP, to provide a unique environment for FEI registered Dressage and Para Dressage Athletes to boost their training and development. FEI registered Athletes can upload videos of their FEI Dressage test to the FEI eDressage™ Online platform every week, for it to then be anonymously judged by a pool of FEI 5* level Dressage and Para Dressage Judges.

In the first phase, a number of videos will be randomly selected and Athletes will then be provided with feedback on their performance and given pointers for improvement. This platform provides Athletes with the opportunity to have their tests remotely evaluated by a group of top-level judges and to receive key insights that could benefit their performances. In the long run, it also has the potential to become a valuable source of content for training FEI Officials in close collaboration with the FEI’s online e-learning platform, FEI Campus.

Promotion of Dressage 5* Judges from 1 January 2021

Four FEI 4* Dressage Judges - Peter Storr (GBR), Kurt Christensen (DEN), Lars Andersson (SWE) and Ulrike Nivelle (GER) - have been promoted to 5* status, the highest rank, by the FEI Dressage Technical Committee. The promotion, which will come into effect on 1 January 2021, will allow these Judges to officiate at major FEI Dressage events in the future, such as FEI Dressage World Cup™ Finals, FEI Championships at Grand Prix level, FEI World Championships and Olympic Games.

This promotion will bring the number of FEI 5* Dressage judges to 41.

The FEI would like to congratulate the promoted Judges and wish them much success in their continued judging career.

ORGANISERS

Return to Play: FEI Policy for Enhanced Competition Safety during the Covid-19 Pandemic

As you may know, the FEI Policy for Enhanced Competition Safety during the Covid-19 Pandemic came into effect on 1 July 2020 in a bid to harmonise the return of international competitions during the Covid-19 pandemic, and contribute to the efforts that are made all around the world to minimize or reduce the spread of the disease.

The Policy requires that all Organisers (OCs) of FEI Events across the world use the same tool in order to evaluate the risk posed by their Event in terms of Covid-19 transmission and provides guidance for social distancing and hygiene measures in the context of FEI equestrian sport. It is not intended to replace the applicable guidance and policies from domestic government and health authorities, but to supplement their recommendations with sport specific considerations. The Policy includes:

  • A framework outlining objectives, roles and responsibilities.

  • A decision-making system for sports federations/sports event organisers when planning events during the Covid-19 pandemic. This system, which was developed by the WHO, is composed of a risk assessment tool (new FEI version published today), a decision making tree, and an accompanying document outlining relevant considerations.

  • Best practices for FEI Event Organisers.

Under this Policy, conducting and documenting the risk assessment – together with the National Federation – is mandatory for FEI Event Organisers.

A Covid-19 Communication Plan Checklist for Organising Committees as well as detailed FAQs and the Risk Assessment tools are regularly reviewed and all available on the Return to Play hub. Please visit these pages regularly for updates and do not hesitate to contact Catherine.bollon@fei.org for further assistance.
