The elegant black Iron showed himself a bit “teenager like” at the pre-inspection but has since developed externally in the right direction. The judges further describe him as noble and of excellent type, and then he is very supple and very well moving in all three gaits. He is also top notch in terms of interior design and always offers himself. His combination of being electric and well-considered makes him almost the ideal dressage horse, and he has also achieved a super test result with almost 900 points.

Here you find the list of other 4 year old Danish Warmblood licensed stallions with accepted performance test.

Among the 4 year old stallions with limited approval:

  • Blue Hors Fortron approved for 2021 and 2022,

Short Grand Prix now implemented in the rules for the new World Cup season 2021/2022

DSCF1954 (1).jpeg

The new Short Grand Prix test is now officially implemented for the 2021-2022 World Cup season. Back in November at the 2020 FEI General Assembly it was decided that the Short Grand Prix test was going to be part of the World Cup in order to make it more entertaining and at the same time also a way to shortening the first day at the World Cup.

Informationsmøde med DRF på Teams vedr. EHV-1 virus

160845504_3782918835122104_4104390484268608217_n.jpg

Screen+Shot+2021-03-15+at+13.12.03.jpg

Dressurhingste: 115 – Iron, 118 – Blue Hors Fortron, 119 –Slangerupgaards Flottenheimer, 120- Freetown, 121-My Toto VDT, 122-Majestic Taonga, 124–Hesselhøj Rock A Billy, 125–Rockabye S, 126- So Perfect, 129-Total McLaren, 131-My Vitality samt Stenagers Ben Hur.

FEI extends shutdown of international events in mainland Europe due to EHV-1 outbreak

unnamed-11.png

The FEI has imposed a further two-week extension of the shutdown of all international events in mainland Europe until 11 April 2021 due to the ongoing outbreak of the neurological form of Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1). The FEI had previously announced a 28-day shutdown on 1 March 2021.

The move, which aims to minimise the further spread of the very aggressive strain of the virus, was unanimously approved at an emergency FEI Executive Board meeting today. The extended lockdown applies to all FEI disciplines.

The decision is based on detailed scientific risk assessment conducted by world leading epidemiologist Dr Richard Newton and the FEI Veterinary Department.

The extended lockdown applies to all countries that have international scheduled events in the period to 11 April – Austria, Belgium, Spain, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Sweden. However, the FEI again strongly recommends that all National Federations in mainland Europe cancel their national events in order to minimise horse movement.

The shutdown will mean the cancellation of the FEI World Cup™ Finals for the second consecutive year following the loss of the 2020 Finals in Las Vegas (USA) to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final and the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final were scheduled to be held in Gothenburg (SWE) from 31 March to 4 April 2021.

“The extension of the lockdown is difficult for everyone, and the loss of the FEI World Cup Finals for a second year is particularly devastating, especially for the qualified athletes and for our loyal Top Partner Longines,” FEI Secretary General Sabrina Ibáñez said. “We know how much work Tomas Torgersen and his incredible team in Gothenburg have put into organising the 2021 Finals, which would have been part of the 400th birthday anniversary celebrations for the city, so this is a desperately bitter blow.

“We cannot eradicate EHV as it is endemic in many countries, but we need to work together to minimise the transmission of this particular strain, which has already caused the death of 12 horses in Europe. All of the original in-contact horses from Valencia, Vejer de la Frontera and Doha are already blocked on the FEI Database, but the whole community needs to be on the alert and monitoring their horses. We strongly urge all European-based FEI athletes to avoid travel with their horses during this prolonged shutdown, as travel is a very clear risk factor.

“Sadly this additional lockdown is crucial to slow down the spread of the virus so that we can preserve the rest of the season, get our athletes and horses back competing safely and allow as long a period as possible for those aiming for Tokyo to earn their Minimum Eligibility Requirements and confirmation results, and of course to prepare their horses for the Games.

“Nobody wants to see an outbreak like this ever again. There will be a comprehensive and fully transparent investigation into every aspect of this outbreak and the way it has been handled, and the findings will be published so that, together with our community, we can all learn from this.

“We will be putting in place enhanced protocols to allow for a safe return to play once this outbreak is under control, and we will advise our community on those well in advance of the resumption of international events, but the priority right now has to be the treatment of sick horses and getting healthy horses back to their home countries in a safe and biosecure way. We all need to focus on safeguarding not just FEI horses, but the wider European horse community.”

Work on identifying the gene sequencing of this strain of the virus is already underway, and the FEI is continuing to monitor the evolution of the virus through the FEI Veterinary Epidemiology Working Group, which was formalised this week. The Group is composed of world-leading EHV specialists, the FEI Veterinary Director and FEI Senior Veterinary Advisor, supported by the Chair of the FEI Veterinary Committee. Reports and recommendations from this Group will be published on a weekly basis.

The FEI is also publishing daily updates on the dedicated EHV-1 hub.

IDOC and Black Horse One partner to develop new online educational tools for Dressage Officials worldwide, powered by SAP

PRESS RELEASE

The new collaboration between IDOC, the International Dressage Officials Club, and Black Horse One, the company behind well-known equestrian innovations, opens new opportunities for online training and education for Dressage Officials.

The purpose of this collaboration is to jointly offer services for all aspiring or active dressage judges to benefit from innovative education possibilities.

Dressage judges anywhere in the world can participate in interactive online webinars and practice judging the same competitors remotely. Under the guidance of distinguished course directors, judges receive immediate feedback on their practice judging. Additional statistics about their own marks and marking patterns are made available to Dressage judges and course directors in real-time through the functionality of SAP HANA Cloud. Successful pilot projects have shown that this interactive education is highly desired and considered to have strong potential to further improve the quality of judge education

Hans Christian Matthiesen, President, IDOC:

“Education of the Officials has always been one of our top priorities in IDOC. When this opportunity saw the light of the day, we didn’t hesitate and welcomed Black Horse One. We continue to work for the Officials in order to give them the best possible platform. Especially in these difficult times, where in-person meetings are restricted, I think we should offer our Officials the chance to improve their judging skills in a good and safe environment with professional course directors and the technology of Black Horse One.  Everything will be according to the FEI rules and Education System and we will strive to offer seminars and training for all levels of Officials. So far we are working on seminars/webinars for Dressage and Para Dressage Judges. And we are happy to help National Federations and other officials’ groups as well.”

Daniel Göhlen, CEO and founder of BlackHorse One:

“We always challenge ourselves to provide the most technologically advanced Dressage scoring solutions and support judges in their work wherever possible. We understand judges’ desire to stay connected and have access to interactive and more frequent high-quality education, not only during a global pandemic. Using our existing software, namely eDressage™, the eDressage™ Dashboard and our recent virtual training platform Equestrian on Demand, we have helped to enrich discussions in the past. Together with the IDOC and the lasting support of SAP, we can now offer a completely new range of exciting training opportunities and strengthen the development of Dressage education.”

Impressive Grand Prix debut

Not every day you pass a post with a high quality 76% Grand Prix debut, and from watching the test H2R got curious to know a bit more about the journey with the 12 year old mare Elvive by Tuschinski / Blue Hors Don Schufro (out of the dam Adonnee de Jeu) with international Australian Grand Prix rider Lyndal Oatley.

“I was so proud of her for so many reasons. I have had Ellie since she was 7 we tried her and she clearly had good paces. Patrik tried her in piaffe and immediately said buy her! Thankfully mum and dad are so supportive and we had been looking for some time and saw her potential she could reach with time and training.

We made our small tour debut at the end October 2017 which she won. A few months after that we were lucky enough to be expecting Emilia and so Patrik was happy to take over and competed her at Cappelen in inter II and she won there with over 75.

Emilia entered the world and when I was cleared to get back in the saddle. Unfortunately Ellie tripped with Patrik in the warm up an got injured. Luckily we got back on track thanks to our team here, Marc Suls and his team at Via Nova equine and mega Farrier Steven Ruiter we really found a way forward and haven’t looked back and has been top fit for a very long time now.

Then corona joined the world and again we had to step back from the competition world just when we were ready to get out there. After many cancelled shows we finally got to ride yesterday and I was just thrilled!

She is amazing and so talented and I am just so lucky to ride her! She is a one in million 😍,” tell Lyndal.

No licensing of stallions at Vilhelmsborg

IMG_1096.jpg

Due to the authorities' lack of feedback with approval of this year's licensing of stallions at Vilhelmsborg, and in addition the prevailing equine herpesvirus in Southern Europe, Danish Warmblood has consequently cancelled the selection of stallions at Vilhelmsborg. Instead, the selection will be conducted as a selection tour at various locations in week 11

Already in the autumn of 2020, it has been evident due to the COVID-19 situation that one of the world's largest stallion events for four decades, the Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing, would not be able to take place in 2021 in its usual format in MCH Messecenter Herning with thousands of visitors in week 10.

Therefore, a much smaller event was sketched to be held without audience and cut right to the bone with a professional settlement of the actual selection of stallions which was to take place in week 11 at Vilhelmsborg. However, Danish Warmblood has not succeeded in getting a response from the responsible authorities regarding approval of the outlined event, despite many written inquiries focusing on a streaming setup behind closed doors.

The prevailing equine herpesvirus which is currently raging at an international equestrian competition in Valencia, Spain, has led the International Equestrian Federation FEI to issue a European competition ban until 28 March. For that reason alone, it is inconceivable that the foreign stallions that are enrolled for the licensing will show up in Denmark.

Therefore, Danish Warmblood is bringing plan B into play. In January, the licensing committee travelled around the country to pre-inspect stallions for the licensing. The licensing will now be conducted in the same way in week 11.

The licensing committee – the jumping committee and the dressage committee, respectively – will visit designated locations (where the stallions are situated) to assess the stallions in a procedure equivalent to a normal stallion licensing, and the stallions will be filmed and photographed as usually.

Once all stallions have been inspected, the stallion owners will be informed about the licensing verdict which will be published on the Danish Warmblood website where video recordings of all stallions will also be made available. An online press conference for the international press will then be held.

– All aspects come into play during this difficult time, but our consideration for the stallion keepers and the health of the stallions counts the most. We have now been waiting for almost four weeks for a response from the Danish authorities as to whether we can legally conduct the licensing behind closed doors with a large streaming setup, but without a concrete decision we cannot drag it any further. The decision to completely cancel a gathering of numerous stallions was made after closely having followed the situation of the equine herpesvirus outbreak with epicentre in Valencia. We are very sorry to have to make this decision, but times are very challenging, and we have become accustomed to acting in the short term. The licensing committee looks forward to viewing the stallions in week 11, and we promise to provide good footage of the stallions, so that you can still follow the licensing from your homes, although in a different format than desired, concludes Casper Cassøe, director of Danish Warmblood.

All stallion owners will be notified about the final conduction of the selection which will take place in week 11 behind closed doors.

The breeding management will select the stallions at designated locations around the country.
