A special highlight of the Oldenburg State Championships powered by DERBY was the premiere of the Oldenburg Elite Mare Show in Höven. Before packed stands, accompanied by a knowledgeable audience and a thrilling atmosphere, the best young Oldenburg mares took the stage. Spontaneous applause and spine-tingling moments made it clear: the combination of top-level sport and first-class breeding thrilled exhibitors and spectators alike.
Benaira MB, born in 2023, by Bonds out of Fräulein Smilla by El.H. Fürstenball-Sir Donnerhall I-Feinbrand, breeder: Maria-Antonia Burczyk, Lienen; owner: Burczyk and Damil Ventures, Fürstenau, was named the celebrated champion mare of the Oldenburg Horse Breeders’ Association (OL). Her grandmother, Splish Splash, gave birth to the licensed stallion Fortunatus by For Romance I, a premium stallion at his licensing in Verden who has since enjoyed international success in advanced-level competition. This bloodline also produced Del Magico by Dimaggio, the licensed runner-up in the 2014 World Championships for six-year-old dressage horses.
The silver medal was once again secured by a daughter of Bonds: A Magic Moment HJN, born in 2022, by Bonds out of VbPrSt. Altana by Don Schufro-Sevillano xx-Rigorosus, bred by Theo and Sabrina Vagepohl of Halen, owned by Helene Raatgering of Salzbergen. Her grandmother, the elite mare Abigail, produced Diva Royale by Don Schufro—who placed in international Grand Prix competitions—her full sister StPrA Dolce Vita, who is successful at the S-level, and her full brother Don Sevillano, who is also successful in international advanced dressage competitions.
Heideglück J, born in 2022, by Viva Gold out of El./StPrSt. Heiderose by San Amour I-De Niro-Donnerhall, breeder: Vera Jürgens, Arnsberg; owner: Marco Trier, Schlitz, was delighted to receive the 1c prize. Her dam, Heiderose, gave birth to the 2019 Oldenburg Champion Mare of the Year, Heideromanzeby For Romance I, who is now winning L-level dressage classes under the guidance of the breeder’s daughter, Lisa Jürgens. Her grandmother, Elite/VbPrSt. Heideprinzess, is the dam of OLHPrSt. Heideperle JH by Sir Donnerhall I, who paraded in the Brillantring at Rastede two years ago, as well as the 2014 BrillantringMare of the Year, Elite/StPrSt. Heide Queen OLD byEl.H. Bordeaux.
