Comeback win for Dante Weltino and Therese Nilshagen with super 73.900% at the afternoon's CDI3 Grand Prix at Aalborg Dressage Event in Denmark.
The couple was long awaited since their unfortunate exit from last summer's Olympics, when Dante Weltino did not pass the vet check while suffering from an injury. Everyone, and especially Therese in the saddle could be proud of today´s comeback. Both Dante and Therese showed great form, and they certainly did not disappoint. Lots of expression and power all the way, and as before, Dante and Therese's Grand Prix tours are almost always "less is more", because Dante Weltino is so eager to do his job in the arena. When looking at the combination, do not forget that both Dante Weltino and Therese have grown up together at the Grand Prix level, as Dante is Therese's first horse she has educated to Grand Prix level.
Lots of expression and power from the start. Great half passes, a little tense rein back , bit early first piaffe tour. Good timing for the whole canter tour, lots of sit for the pirouettes, the 2nd one in super nice quality. They are definitely back battling for a ticket for the Europeans in Sweden this summer.
No. 2 Italian Pia Laus and Shadow with a solid tour with good expression and nice suppleness. Nevertheless, the overall picture is with a little too many tensions and with a sometime very short and high neck.
No. 3 becomes Charlotte Haid-Bøndergaard with her lusitano Roberto des Frettes. Lots of power, momentarily a bit unsteady image but with technical good things underway, but there are also a few minor mistakes.
No. 4 Lena Leschley Aamann and Gørklintgårds Fanero were first to go. The couple delivered an almost technically flawless ride, only with a small error by the transition from passage to canter. Regular piaffe tours, but where you may wish to see some more activity, but Lena knows if she asks for a little more, Fanero often chooses to respond a little against her, so she does wisely not take a chance today. The extensions are little hectic and you may wish for a little more self carriage for the half passes. Good series and good zig-zag canter.
No. 5 Charlotte Heering and Bufranco again gathered valuable experience points in the arena today. Nice picture for the trot tour, with good half passes, good passage and a little careful piaffe tours. Does not catch the passage directly after the collected walk tour at M. A bit few piaffe steps for 2nd piaffe tour, super great series, a little mistake in the zigzag canter and unfortunately Bufranco seems to misunderstand the signal for the last piaffe and stops, but Charlotte quickly gets him back on track.
